  1. What an incredible achievement only to be snubbed. That far and away fails to describe your work here as the ambitious and extremely well executed trio of models you have here. This has vision, design, as well as forward thinking practicality. How this just didnt win outeight says a LOT about the cars that did win. BTW, who did win, and with what? I gotta know.
  2. This trio is simply ourstanding from top to bottom Tim. Right off the bat I gotta ask is..... Let me go read your other post instead of asking answered questions there.. Let me just say this about the trailer. Holy S#!% is that inventive! A bit of envy is running through me as I picture this in MY collection rather than yours. The concept of it being entirely Charger is the tip of it. The decals arehome brewed no doubt. Great design behind it all. WOW...
  3. Truly fantastic. There is a lot of hard work involved here and that is clear. The stowage and accesories are all well executed. Well done and I know I speak for everyone when I say thanks for quitting lurking and participating.
  4. Ive watched your videos in the past. You always crush it. I have to ask. Is this the Trumpeter molded kit? I have one in tje stash and it looks great. Ive looked it over several times and I feel Im ready.
  5. Looks great. Maybe a better background that features the build a little better. Im guilt of having busy backgrounds myself. I have the Trumpeter 109G. Some day Ill tackle it.
  6. This is the now ancient Tamiya kit. Not sure of the year, this is the one that came with the rider and the stand. I have the rider in primer as of this afternoon and plan on mounting it on the stand. I bought this and the Kenny Roberts YZR500 w/ rider at the same yard sale many years ago. I forgot what I paid but it was a yard sale so it couldnt have been much. Ill call this done for now and add the rider and stand when they are ready. Oh and some of the decals are missing I know. They were already on the brink and I managed to save the bulk but l lost a few. Paint is Tamiya X7 I believe.
  7. That color combo is always a winner. It would make a Russian car look good. OK, maybe that's too far. Looks great from every angle.
  8. Necklace and beading section at Hobby Lobby. I just picked up the entire range. I have 1/24-1/16 covered for sure.
  9. Always liked this car. Lookin good Joe. Watching.
  10. I used an airbrush on the skin tones. White acrylic primer (Vallejo) tinted with a bit of the skin tone. Then 2 layers of the skin tones for a smooth finish. The rest is hand painted. Oh, the board blue was out of a rattle can.
  11. Feel free to post your pics here if you like. I like that one and was planning on doing it after the tandem surfers. I always enjoy others peoples work.
  12. I will echo others here when I say interesting color choices. It has a military gone citizen kinda vibe. I always dig that.
  13. I got the set as a gift recently and decided it was time to get built. The molds for these are in amazing shape. For parts marked Hawk 1964 it is incredible. Almost no flash to speak of, and all parts seem to line up effortlessly. I took a page out of Harry's book when it comes to joining parts. I use the cement as the filler so as little filler as possible is used. It works a charm and it is the only way to join pieces. And these kits are loaded with that. Almost exclusively acrylics used here, a few touch ups and it's on to the next one. The Tandem Surfers is up next.
  14. Thanks for the kind words guys. The trick to that wooden bed decal is simple. I used Liquitex Matt Varnish over it. I simply brushed it on. It levels and lays down so nice it makes you look like a better painter than you are.
  15. When I started my miniature painting journey I invested in paints once I was commited to the hobby. I had done a lot of research, watched a lot of videos, and it came down to a couple of paint lines. Vallejo was the one I chose and I went full hog. Their metal color line is one I bought and like most of you I was pleasantly surprised at how good they are. They brush on and airbrush equally well and the color range is comprehensive. I would have recommended them a few years ago but I had all but forgotten this place as my journey had taken me pretty far from here.
  16. Kind words Sir, but Im not certain about how high I set any bars. I know this. You will enjoy every bit of building this kit. Put your own stamp on it and I am sure it will be a stand out.
  17. You have adapted to printing pretty quickly brother. You see its worth and that is why. Im pleased you are getting to make the cars you want. Your skill cannot be undestated. You have an affinity and your desire drives it.
  18. A very well engineered kit by most standards. Black is a great color and is correct but I wanted something a bit brighter. Looks great sitting next to some muscle cars on the shelf.
  19. Super nice build. I can picture a couple of beach bunnies and a cooler of cold ones cruising down to the shore in this bad boy. You must have one heck of a shelf.
  20. A couple of finished shots. The rest in the completed section. Thanks for playing along.
  21. His channel is a tremendous resource. He covers paint like no other and his slight accent (NY upstate) sounds familiar and pleasant to my ears.
  22. I would be remiss indeed if I didn't include Doug Whyte's informative and entertaining Model Car Muse channel. I've subscribed since the start and he has always come through with great content without fail. If you don't know about his channel, now you do.
  23. When I discovered miniatures and wargaming painting I wanted to learn how they got the effects and finishes they achieved. Youtube is a valuable resource. There are a lot of people willing to share techinques they have either discovered or learned from others. Gone are the days of people playing it close to the vest to win contests with techinques they learned or discovered and decided to keep it to themselves. There is a plethora of talented people taking the time to make videos of things they've learned so you to can employ them on your next project. I learned a great deal about painting with a great many hours spent watching techniques being demonstrated right before me. My painting skills increased in a way I didn't think possible. I have minis I painted when I first started, and when I compare them to something I just finished I realize just how much Ive learned. And it was all FREE! So, I ask you. Do you have a favorite builder? A favorite channel? A favorite search on Youtube that you use to inspire, learn pr just entertain yourself? I have several, but hands down it has to be A4 Garage. The man is a master of making scale working anything. You really have to see his work. He shows you step by step how he achieves wonders in metal and styrene. What is yours?
  24. Sorry I haven't commented up until now. Ive been busy catching up. This project is killer and you really must have researched it well. I was just digging on tje last couple of pics and I especially like the dusty headers. Really gives it a lived in vibe. Im watching from the lair.
