  1. I have this kit and was thrilled with how much engine was there. Truth is [and said above], the engine is largely covered and what is there is well represented. if even 200 builders used the engine for other purposes that wouldn't represent a reason to develop the engine in totality. But were it complete how many would use it in other builds? All supposition of course. Aoshima is going to release a full engine detail Pagani Huayra this fall. The intervening years will show how many of those engines get used for other purposes. THAT engine [AMG Built BMW] is not only very powerful but has turbos and the whole nine. Time will have to pass in order to see what Hot Rodding is done with that engine. But from the test shot many of us saw it is state of the art. So lack of a TOTAL engine didn't stop me from buying this kit. It was the name on the box that sold me. I knew I was getting a serious kit that was accurate and would build straight and true. This will allow my finishing skills to produce what should be a stellar build. I have seen quite a few here and almost without exception they have been beauties.
  2. The MPC Yellow Feather concerns me a bit. MPC [or AMT for that matter] didn't make that engine or frame. I could be corrected but if this is a modified old tool then they may have a winner. If they slide a decal sheet into the box with a Garlits/Brute Force kit I'll be very disappointed. Although the decal sheet is very welcomed. Looking forward to someone's unboxing.
  3. WOW!
  4. I think you should look on Youtube. Search hand lacing wheels and you'll get quite a few tutorials on making your own. They look better than PE and you have the pleasure of saying you did it yourself. I made some in 1/25th so 1/16 should be lots easier.
  5. OUTSTANDING..... I'll use this and a few others here as inspiration when I build my coupe.
  6. Getting one for certain...
  7. Looks awesome Chris. I'd probably double up on those contingencies across the bottom.
  8. Fantastic video....
  9. Another great save.
  10. My favorite bird of all. Very nice...
  11. I will post when I build it. Could be a great slump buster kit.
  12. Could be 1/32 or so. IMO it's as cool as it gets. It really caught my eye.
  13. I bought one yesterday at 22.00 plus ship on eBay. The guy had 5 total NOS sealed. He still has a few so if you are looking for one there ya go. Are these rare? I don't recall ever having seen this kit. I love goofy stuff like Dave Deal and T Daniel so this is right up my alley. That and it is completely representative of the period. At 22.00 it's cheaper than a modern kit and the subject was [for me] hard to resist. Any built-ups around? Bob
  14. Absolutely Gorgeous....
  15. My prediction is simple. No modern day drag racing in ANY scale. Oh, and anything I want will be delayed until I pass utterly from this world.
  16. I really dug that car [and all Asimov books], so I'll be watching. That thing looked wicked.
  17. Same here. In the stash, the possibility is 100%
  18. I have kits I may never build simply because I will expire before I get to them. And the pile grows ever deeper.
  19. Superb paint and finishing all the way through.
  20. Well done. You missed the blue going through the center of the grill. Put it on and you'll see how it ties the front end together.
  21. Ya know, before I clicked I said to myself, "I'll decide what is outlandish paint". Outlandish indeed...
  22. Brilliant history and story of a car that was simply remarkably engineered. That the drivers would laugh is a testament to how dominant they must have felt in it. Going flat out around corners like it's on rails must have been an exhilerating experience. Thanks Bill, wonderful reading.
  23. 450.00 for an open box but complete Aurora VooDoo Vega. About 255.00 for 1/20 scale Tamiya McLaren MP4/4 with Top Studio detail up kit and decals.
