  1. Duplicolor semi gloss black. Big can, great paint, available most places. I used to be at the mercy of Tamiya. No longer.
  2. A really great time to be a nitro model builder.
  3. Gorgeous paint.
  4. If it's a wedge dragster it'll be the Spirit car. The Prudhomme camp is decidedly difficult to deal with license wise. It's been said before but if we want to build his cars the aftermarket must supply decals. But I do welcome this kit.
  5. Bob is on point here. I always prime anything metallic with either semi or flat black. It always comes out excellent.
  6. Herb Adams Chevy is still around here in New England. I'll have to do some digging on this one. EDIT: My bad, it's Herb Chambers. Still a cool car.
  7. My buddy Jimmy is gonna flip for this thing. He had a Vette motored one with man trans back in the day. That thing was hella fast. Of course, guess who gets to build it for him.......... maybe I'll let it slide and just get one for me.
  8. Too cool for words. I had to get one but they ain't cheap.
  9. I have some Teal paint I've been wanting to try and since I just got one of these............................................................. More to come. Tell your bud that his came out great Dave.
  10. New molds and still the shifter has the tree attached in the most obvious spot. Who laid this thing out? Revell has those new sprue points that disappear when you cut them. This is what should be employed from here on out.
  11. THAT is a very nice build and engine out is awesome.
  12. VERY nice......
  13. Fantastic build Steve. Your building style is a favorite of mine.
  14. I've found that vinyl tubing reacts well to boiling water. What i have done is boil a pot when I am ready and dip the ends in. And, as Sam mentioned the tube will retract grabbing on for dear life.
  15. That kit actually looks good with those wheels. And this is coming from a decidedly NON 20 inch wheel guy.
  16. Those last two pics are just awesome!
  17. I too like these old Monogram kits. There really are quite a lot of them. Yours came out very nice, and you didn't paint it red [which is what I would have done "Faux Pas"..]
  18. Those who know me know I can be vain. But that's just next level stuff.... Thanks Tom.
  19. If you guys saw the way I treat my comic book/magazine collection you'd know what obsession to archive truly means. I may have more just in archival material than some have into the actual books in their collections. And while it is a large collection it doesn't go unloved. I take boxes out and read valuable books all the time. it's just how you treat them and replace them back in their boxes. My point being nothing is too good for something you care for and plan on keeping, either for yourself or future generations. We are merely caretakers after all.
  20. This needs to happen everywhere all at once. Perhaps kids would put down the PS3 for a second and come up for air.
  21. You guys with wives who give you lip for your stash should show them this pic.
  22. My mother has always said. "There are no stupid questions. Only stupid answers". Since she is a PhD Psychologist and Author I've stuck to it.
  23. I will most likely take most of the warm days to get out and enjoy things. I do make forays to the workbench and always paint bodies and clear them for the colder months. I still skateboard so I'll be doing lots of that this spring to shed a few unwanted winter pounds as well. Of course kids look at me like I'm a nutcase skating at 51. It wasn't so bad until the grey started showing up with a renewed effort this last year.
  24. Pics......
