  1. I painted this a few years ago in NAPA colors and got some decals and planned on a NAPA delivery truck thing. The paint bled underneath the tape and I got so mad I nearly chucked it. I let it dry and threw it in the box with disgust. 2 weeks ago after I finished the Malco car I threw this into the pond. It came out very clean so I sanded it and threw some white primer on it. I had no plan whatsoever but I just stared at my paints and it hit me. I laid down some Vallejo acrylic white and taped it off [again]. This time I grabbed Tamiya XF-71 cockpit green and thinned it with a little laquer thinner, shot it and stood back. I have a great many Vallejo raw earth pigments and washes so I attacked it gently with sandpaper first and then rust, followed by a little hairspray and red earth. At least it's not hideously painted blue and yellow and sitting in a box on the shelf. I lost the fin for the pink board but i'm making one and with some string i'll make some bungees to hold both boards to the top and finish it.
  2. I didn't even realize there was any difference as a young man. As I got older I looked for cars and found that certain box size and assumed the car inside was the scale i wanted. 1/24 1/25 didn't matter. Still doesn't.
  3. Modelroundup has them for 69.90? Geez...... I have 2 coming at 42,00 a piece through Amazon.
  4. Is that Vallejo Old Gold I see? very pimp.
  5. All that thing needs is the twizzler dispenser. Super build.
  6. Beautiful. It's funny what 30 years of perspective and skill building can do. Bob
  7. Absolutely Stunning Harry. I have this kit in my stash and you are inspiring me. I don't usually build large scale but that paint turns it into another car. Impressive..
  8. I have about 50 bottles of Vallejo and I love them. They do need a matt or clear varnish but that's not a big deal. The trade off is super fine pigments that flow fantastically. I've airbrushed them, hand painted them. I've practically dipped parts in Vallejo with great results. They are a superior paint to Tamiya and almost everything out there. Get a set and see what all those Maschinen Kreiger, Armor builders are raving about. Of BTW, Their gold set [Old Gold, Gold, Silver and Copper] are to die for. Their powders are the best in the business. I could go on. Bob
  9. Missed this till just now. Wowzers that is supra nice [no one thought of that one?]. I'd say clean but that would be redundant, redundant.. Bob
  10. Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!
  11. 1972 Duster with 225 slant. i actually blew it up when a truck threw its front drivers hubcap. It came into my lane, under the car and severed the oil pan and oil filter. it went boom a few seconds later.
  12. Inspiring? Then my work is done here. Thanks Bob

  15. Absolutely outstanding build...... I remember building my first. It is one of those kits that just begs for more. Nailed it in every way Sir.... the paint is immaculate. Bob
  16. Thanks Ron. I'll bring it and a few others to the next MAMA meeting. Bob
  17. Started this when it first came out and lots got in the way. I had the day off and I knew I was pretty darned close so I opened it up last night. All I needed was to tackle those goofy seats and I was home free. I used mostly acrylics with only the body and chassis color being Laquers. Duplicolor Perfect Match BGM0539 Lt Mett Blue and BCC0422 Intense blue pearl to be precise. There were a few battles but nothing anyone here couldn't handle. I made a few parts but I'll just let those be as is. I finished it just a little while ago and it's nice out so shot a few pics. Comments of any variety are fine of course. Bob
  18. Is finished. Took long enough but I've cut off commission build and am only building for my dad and myself. The rest in "Under Glass,
  19. If using spray bombs, don't shake it that much. I can make a can of gloss black look semi with this method.
  20. Vallejo Acrylic primer. So good it should be illegal. FP101 Duplicolor sandable primer is also excellent.
  21. Certainly not builder friendly, nor is it a first kit recommendation. But it can go together given the proper thwaps and grunts.
  22. One of the most in scale paint jobs i have ever seen. Gorgeous boat.
  23. A Nissan Juke looks like a frog with wheels.
  24. Got my gear today. Nice touches on the packaging and flawless items within. I will be buying more as need arises. Thanks Chief. Bob
  25. That man knows what a car is for. He is enjoying it and I applaud anyone for using a vehicle for whatever they envision whatever that vehicle may or may not be worth. He's certainly getting his money's worth out of it. I bought my kit today off Amazon.
