  1. Another great meeting today, with some really cool surprises on the contest table. Click here for the rest.
  2. Truth be told, we cancelled because there was a 90% chance of Arter...
  3. Due to impending severe winter weather and other complications, the February 6th meeting of the Central Pennsylvania Model Car Club has been cancelled.
  4. It's beautiful! The only thing I can say that hasn't already been said is...it'll be in the March newsletter!
  5. Dang Lyle...no photos of the chili. We're slipping.
  6. January's meeting in Mt Wolf was well attended in spite of the threat of chili. The models were even hotter, as the photos indicate. We even added a couple new members who braved the winter chill to hang with us for a spell. Ruddy Hernandez's sweet Studebaker... We don't have many junior members, but the ones we have are very talented and not afraid of "old skool" hot rods... ...or AWB Ponchos. I wonder if Mr. Pletcher will ever build anything shiny. And then there's our hip-hop pres sporting some CPMCC swag... More photos HERE.
  7. That's a magnificent build of one of the most attractive (I think) cars ever made. I always wondered (and more so after seeing this) why a full detail, new tool never caught the imagination of AMT, Revell, or even Trumpeter. Having butchered up one of these many years ago, I can fully appreciate the work you put into this project. I'd score it an 11 on a scale of 10. Well done. Very well done.
  8. Thanks Greg. I need to get in more regularly to update it, but it serves the purpose and the club membership seems to like it.
  9. Thank you very much, fellas. I appreciate all the help and feedback. Just one more reason this forum and its participants are the most bestest ever in the whole Universe, maybe even the world!
  10. I tried sending PMs to each through the forum, the first to Dave which didn't work (at least as sen on my end) at all, and the second to Gregg which transmitted, but threw a message saying the recipient couldn't receive any more PMs. I tried sending an email to each, which I think went through, but can't tell. Are those utilities operating properly, or is it a "user issue"?
  11. Like you guys, I had one years ago. Aside from the minor decal omissions, the kit is a direct re-pop, and a nice one at that. I picked one up this weekend too, and while it is a very elementary kit from an engineering perspective, with comically large ladder bars, a straight axle (!) and dated (call them vintage if it makes you feel better) custom touches, this kit has a cool factor that's almost off the scale. You know, the wagon could make a cool gasser...or you could replace the side pipes with aluminum tubing, update the rolling stock, paint the roof filler portion of the glass, black out the rear taillight and and graft some cool taillights to it...or you could make it the tow car portion of a cool race car team; picture a matching painted F/E rail on a trailer behind it. With a kit like this around, I might actually build something sooner than later.
  12. Great photos Lyle! Man, we tore through a boatload of food. And I think everyone is still waiting to find out if they should be concerned about halucinations or high velocity lower G.I. excitement from Craig's brownies...but they were gooood.
  13. Hey. it's a rat gasser! Very cool...but I'm guessing it won't pass tech at the track.
  14. "...just a shelf model..." Dude, we definitely have different shelves. This is very nicely done.
  15. I can't add much to what has already been said! Very, very nice...and it definitely screams for a vintage Caddy to hitch it to. It's got such a perfect period feel.
  16. Woof! That dog can hunt! Nicely done!
  17. Matthew, I like that more than just a little bit! Nicely executed, and a refreshing choice as the basis for a gasser! Well done!!
  18. That, simply stated, is as period-perfect a gasser as I've ever seen. I don't know if you should have waited 40 years to get around to doing it, but I'm flat out impressed with the results! Take a bow!
  19. Thanks for posting the photos, Lyle!
  20. 23 years. The Central Pennsylvania Model Car Club has been active since March of 1986.
  21. I never would have thought a CAMARO could be a cool low-rider. I was dead wrong. Your Camaro turned out pretty darned impresssive.
  22. I really don't care much for the new Camaro, but you did an outstanding job on this phantom! It's brilliantly executed!
  23. This annual model car contest and vendor show is held at the Gilbertsville Fire Hall by Fantastic Plastics with the support of the Central Pennsylvania Model Car Club.
