  1. The MPC '67-69 Barracuda annuals had a 383 and a slant 6, I believe. The street machine issues in the 80s had Hemis, and then they put a 383 back in sometime in the 90s IIRC. The '67 Barracuda came out in an AMT box. I don't know if AMT or MPC did the tooling, but from 1968 on the Barracudas were from MPC. (JoHan did other Plymouths, for some reason.) I've never seen a '67 boxed as an MPC, don't know if there was one in addition to the AMT (which I have). I don't have a '68, though the '80s street machine issue I have has '68 style side markers (molded in orange, 'The Avenger' box art).
  2. I wasn't sure..I have an AMT-boxed '67 annual and a built '69 MPC-boxed annual in my stash, but couldn't recall what engines they had.
  3. Could have just been a bad cell phone...I smashed my last one because it was junk...

  5. OUCH...argggggggghhhhh....pain and bleeding. Came home from work, bent down in the kitchen to give one of my dogs her meds, and when I stood up I slammed the top of my head into the corner of an open cabinet door... hurts like heck. Also, when I started to type in this window, it automatically pasted all my replies and quotes from yesterday..that's wrong...
  6. I need something I can drive everyday but also hop in and take a cross country road trip if I want to.. I don't trust my 15 yr old cars now (too many miles, had too many major issues), and my 4 yr old Cadillac being a now-obsolete model concerns me... time for something new for me..and something that gets 30-35mpg would be nice, better than the 16-25 I get now, esp. if I have a 50-75 mile daily round trip for work...even thought about doing something really radical and getting a diesel Jetta wagon (in brown of course).
  7. I'm more familiar with older Mercedes and BMWs...my sister has two high mileage Mercedes ('84 500SEL and '91 300CE) and they have been money pits over the decade she's had them and now they are paperweights in my back carport. My BMW experience was much better. Though I'm seriously thinking of going back to the blue oval for my next car...
  8. I wouldn't trust a Jaguar on a 20 mile trip...heard too many horror stories.. Cadillacs and my Jeep have been good to me, though.
  9. I'm still under 50 .even though I do like 'old man' cars like the Grand Marquis and Town Car, realistically I want something more 2015 than 1995 as far as the tech and something that gets better gas mileage... thinking maybe a 300, Charger, CTS, MKZ, MKS, maybe a Fusion or Taurus. Something comfortable for the daily grind and for road trips, and I really don't need an SUV this time..I've bought used before, but generally prefer to get something new and keep for 10 or more years..don't want something already 10 years old.
  10. One reason of late I've been reading up on and familiarizing myself w/ current car infotainment systems is I'm thinking of trading my vehicles in on something new before the end of the year... my commute will quite likely be getting longer in the near future, a move to a higher traffic metro area in the next 6 months is likely, and 15 yr old vehicles w/ 130k and 160k won't cut it anymore..need something new (and too many old car repairs starting to be needed). My '11 STS, while I enjoy it, is kind of dated..it's basically an '05 design that wasn't updated much (and it's starting to have reliablity issues, even w/ only 40k miles)
  11. I swear I think alot of people on here haven't spent any time in a late model car..they seem to have no comprehension of the typical infotainment systems of today. SMH
  12. So my question is simple: Why do you need to use your ipod while you drive? Why not just focus on the job at hand (piloting a 2500 pound car through traffic) and play with your gadgets when you are at home? Lots of useful features in modern systems like SYNC, though, like navigation, iPod/phone integration, hard drive for music... with my old circa-2000 cars I have to use a cassette adapter to connect my iPod. Also, a lot of the modern systems are voice activated for phone dialing, selecting songs, etc. So my question is simple: Why do you need to use your ipod while you drive? And I wouldn't drive a 2500 lb car...my cars are over 4000lbs and my Jeep is almost 5000lbs. .:)
  13. Interesting... I went to the Ivy Promotions site, and they have pictures of promos (C5 Corvettes and Camaros) and list a number of '10-12 C5 Corvettes. I wonder if the tooling is sourced from DoAllSer or something like that..the company that Round 2 got the tooling from for the Snap Corvettes, Challengers and Camaros of the last few years... Here's Ivy Promotions promo page.. http://ivypromo.com/PromotionalItems.aspx?categoryid=6

  15. Haven't seen any women posting in this thread...you better check your lousy attitude at the door...you aren't providing any useful input to this thread. Well, if Revell is promoting this as an 'all new' kit, I have to assume it will truly be all new and not a 50 yr old tooling w/ new parts. There is precidence of Revell doing single-version kits of custom subjects, with the Stacey David Rat Roaster being the most recent.
  16. 60 years ago, some cars had record players..I'm sure the curmudgeons said the same thing then..
  17. There are already issues with Windows 10 crashing Nvidia drivers, my laptop has already reserved its free upgrade, but I am going to hold off for at least a few months before I update/upgrade. Probably a good idea.. I've reserved my free upgrade also...I still like using Windows for certain applications, though I do prefer a Mac in general.
  18. The Foose F100 has a Ford V8 and a custom rear bumper..
  19. Doesn't help me. I use Mac. Yeah, I have both Mac and Windows 8 laptops at home, probably w/ update the Windows laptop to Win 10 in the next month or so. My work computer is still on Windows 7.
  20. The quote feature is working very strangely for me also... I just did 'Submit Reply' and it quoted all my recent replies and quotes..had to delete the blocks.. As a hard core technology guy (software engineer) I enjoy new software and new features...when it works...but when it is buggy...and all software is buggy, just different degrees of it..
  21. I definitely remember the show from childhood and the movie from a decade ago... if it's reasonably accurate, I'll get 2-3, I like mid 70s Fords...
  22. Nothing 'garbage' about it...sounds like you are a young 'old fart' wannabe...;)
  23. I have no idea what that even means. U Connect Access is Mopar's equivalent to Ford's SYNC. Still have no clue. What is "Sync?" Car connected to the internet? Being interested in the new Mustang I thought you would know... it's the in car infotainment system...for linking a cell phone to the car, hard drive for music storage, connecting an iPod, NAV, etc... Here's more info http://www.ford.com/technology/sync/ and uConnect: ://www.driveuconnect.com/
