  1. One that I haven't seen in this thread that has been reissued at least twice w/ the same error is the MPC Dodge Dart Sport. MPC reissued it in the '80s labeled as a Plymouth Duster, and AMT did the same about 10 years ago in the RC2 era. Similarly for the MPC '74 Road Runner which MPC issued as a GTX in the '80s and AMT more recently (presumably for the same reason Monogram called their Road Runner a Satellite--to avoid paying for the naming rights).
  2. I've never seen one in resin...the latest 88 in kit form was the AMT '65. Would be nice...the '67/68 was a great looking car, IMO.
  3. No one seems to comprehend that the images in first post are not official Ford images..they are just someone's renditions of what it might look like...and the black car in the 3 pics is just an engineering mule using a modified current body..
  4. You can't take any of the pictures on the internet currently seriously....those are just someone's thought about what it could look like, nothing official has been shown...it probably won't be shown for real until at least the LA auto show this winter...
  5. It has an IRS w/ a transverse spring. The Mustang is the only RWD car left on the US market (or in the world, probably) w/ a solid rear axle. Every other performance or sports car uses an IRS.
  6. That's not a pic of the real car, just something from someone's imagination.
  7. 'Il Ferrari' would have been better ('il' being the masculine 'the' whereas 'la' is the feminine).
  8. Apparently it's popular...strange stuff. I wouldn't buy one of those, but a lot of people must like it.
  9. Yeah, that one...a couple other ancient kits that have been reissued over and over that deserve a modern-tooled version IMO are the AMT '66 Mustang (maybe as a '65 instead) and the AMT '65 GTO.
  10. Interesting..the post w/ atalog illustrations someone had posted has vanished. So in '77 they had illustrations rather than photos. I have the AMT '79 catalog--my oldest model kit catalog--and it has photos of the box art for some kits and photos of builtups for other kits.
  11. I don't think I've ever known anyone my age or younger that admitted to being into stamp collecting. In the modern era of electronic communication stamps just seem to be a quaint artifact of a past era.
  12. or pursuing some other dead/dying hobby like stamp collecting, coin collecting, trainspotting, collecting dust, etc...
  13. Another one is the 'Dannon Yogurt' truck and trailer set...same truck and trailer as the 7up set. I built the Dannon kit as a kid in '78/79...very nicely detailed, and they were my first effort at heavy truck kits.
  14. Yeah, they've gone about as far as they can with the solid rear axle...I still like the '05-14 car quite a bit, wouldn't mind having one when I have more garage space.
  15. I've never had a problem w/ the cars I've had w/ IRS ('96 BMW M3, Cadillac STS, a couple older Mercedes) but I'm not a drag racer, more into good handling. So this should be a big improvement. As good as the '12-13 Boss 302 was at handling, I would expect the new car w/ IRS to be even better...it's still over a year away until launch, so more information should be coming late in the year...
  16. Probably used the rear steer suspension that was available for a few years on the GMT-800 era ( '99-06) Silverado. I've never seen a '67-72 crew cab, I'm assuming it's a custom..
  17. With the redline tires and outrageous styling, it looks like a 1:1 of a Hot Wheels fantasy model.
  18. The extended cab body and interior already exists w/ the snap kit, I'd hunt down one of those rather than waste time and effort cutting up two cabs to make one. Take the snap kit, shorten the frame, and use the bed from the short bed kit.
  19. Seems like the way to proceed is to take a shortbed kit (either the 454 SS or stepside kit) and the longbed extended cab snap kit and do some cut and pasting...
  20. The funny thing is that there is a 1/43rd scale model available of a '67 Impala 4dr ht by a company called 'Truescale' but looking at pics of one on eBay, the roofline is wrong--they used the 2dr fastback roofline.
  21. Rather vile. About the only Lamborghini I've ever really found appealing (from a purely styling perspective) is the Miura.
  22. Yes, and the conversion is more than re-scribing the doors to 4drs...the 4dr ht roofline is completely different than the 2dr fastback, rear window is different, decklid is probably a different length, different quarter panel upper shape, etc..
  23. For that kind of money, I'd rather invest in real estate w/ ample garage space. And a new Challenger SRT8 Hemi, which would be way more fun to drive, IMO.
  24. Tamiya has made several interesting little Hondas, incl. the '80s Honda City Cabrio...
  25. Alas, I only have one each of the MPC '70 through '74 annuals (one of each year). Plus 4 of the '80s issue '74 (molded in blue) w/ resin parts that I started converting to '70 variations (T/A, Hemi, etc), and the '80s issue '74 Pro Street (molded in orange) kit. My '70 annual is pretty well built w/ a vinyl top (bought it built off eBay back around 2000).
