  1. It's actually over 50 years old..
  2. Molded to the rear axle, looks like...that was common on MPC kits of that era.
  3. That's what it looks like..probably one of the 'Put On' parts that MPC had in a bunch of kits in '71--oversized cartoonish parts.
  4. And don't confuse the Uptown Magnum kit w/ the Magnum SRT8 kit being reissued next month...the full detail SRT8 kit is very nice, the Uptown kits seem very cheesy to me with the goofy sissors doors and oversized wheels and tires..they remind me of cheesy Jada diecast, very toy-like.
  5. A toy. Not a very accurate kit.
  6. Odd w/ the slicks not to have optional wheels...someone have pics of the instruction sheet? The '75 original issue has the honeycombs as the optional wheels, and the later marked as a Duster issues had some turbine wheels.
  7. I need to get some of the ES Porsches...I have several of the Ferraris.
  8. Hopefully they will use the vintage box art.
  9. Our Makerbot Replicator 2 showed up at the office this afternoon...
  10. Sweet...I love the look of early '70s Pro Stock cars..
  11. There were also the MPC Dusters from '71 through '75, which were pretty similar to the Demon and Dart Sport kits. Of all of the original kits of these, the only ones I don't have are the '71s.
  12. The strange thing about the AMT mislabeling the Dart Sport as a Duster is that MPC did the same thing in the '80s when they reissued the Dart Sport. Interestingly, there was also an actual MPC '75 Duster made back in '75, in addition to the Dart Sport kit.
  13. I remember the Power Modeler product, never bought it though....IIRC, 1993 when I first had a PC w/ a CD-ROM....long time ago.
  14. I have 3 of them, molded in yellow, all have dark tinted windows. Go figure.
  15. Who are 'Doug and Jamie' ? People at Round 2? Isn't the Petty Dart sportsman a '71? The pics of the original kit show a '70-71 style grille..
  16. IIRC... I don't have the promo, but the snap kit version did IIRC.
  17. Hopefully it will have clear windows and not be molded in yellow again.
  18. Well, it's been over 10 years since I bought my resin '71, probably 8 since I got my resin '72 and a month since I got a resin '72 Pro Stock version...guess I'll wait until the kit is reissued before building them.
  19. My AMT '68 Mustang GT annual had a clear tear drop hood..never seen one w/ a Shelby, but I don't have the '60s issue of the Shelby.
  20. I've had mine on all winter except for around a few storms and the couple nights it dipped before freezing...put in a winter lawn this year.
  21. 3/4 of my stash has been bought since mid 1997, so most were probably bought for more than that...
  22. True enough...I was born in '70, and I can't recall when kits last retailed for under $10...maybe 20 years ago or more.
  23. From what I've read, the upcoming panel is based on the recent RoG Samba kit, not the Hasegawa tooling...
  24. Given that Perry's website hasn't been updated in over 5 years (click on the 'New Stuff' or "Changes at Perry's links), I wouldn't expect much if trying to order online. Which is unfortunate, as I had good luck w/ buying kits and conversion parts from him over a decade ago.
