  1. I don't think those 4 were released then....though some of those were released 10-15 years ago w/ silly box art with flames.
  2. Very nice. Love those old annuals.
  3. Depends on the sellers schedule, I guess. One very reputable eBay seller I personally know only ships on Saturdays because they are only home on the weekends.
  4. No, separate city. But surrounded by Detroit. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamtramck
  5. 'They' probably signed NDAs..or they are saving their secrets for a lucrative tell all book deal.
  6. Speaking of Johan kits, what are the differences between the Sox & Martin Superbird and the Petty one? I have the Petty one...I assume the wheels/tires and decals are different in the S&M one, any other differences in parts?
  7. I use Fed Ex for shipments from Hobby Link Japan and set up online for them to be dropped off at my local Fed Ex store, since they inevitably deliver when I'm not home. USPS is generally the most reliable for domestic shipments for me, I've had the most problems w/ UPS (like them delivering to the wrong address).
  8. Round 2 announced a bunch of releases last year at iHobby, but more recently a number of other releases have surfaced through the underground and via vendor listings (like Tower Hobbies--they list a whole bunch of 2013 Round 2 AMT & MPC releases that have been discussed here and on other forums, but weren't announced at iHobby).
  9. I believe so... I don't think those parts ever changed over the years.
  10. The speculation over what became of various Johan tools is one of those things that's going to be an internet legend for decades to come...
  11. A TJ Wrangler is about a foot longer than a CJ-5. Similar width, longer wheelbase.
  12. They are different generations of Wrangler, the Tamiya is the earlier YJ, the Revell is a TJ. The Tamiya builds as a pretty stock Euro-spec version, IIRC, the Revell builds only as a custom off roader w/ big tires, etc. The Tamiya kit has an engine IIRC, the Revell looks to be a curbside.
  13. Looking forward to this and the '73 Chevelle.
  14. I guess one thing I did find interesting about their 1/20th subjects is they did do a few subjects no one else did--the Explorer Sport, for instance...it was the only pre-facelift Explorer 2dr kitted (the AMT kit was the post-facelift 4dr Limited). (Back in the day before I got into Jeeps I was into Ford SUVs in 1:1).
  15. I have a few of the 1/12th scale kits, but prefer 1/20th because of the wider selection and lower cost..I'm liking the new Ebbro 1/20th Lotus series...
  16. Because 1/20th is the standard scale/most common for the subject....there are a few 1/24th F1 kits, but very few... for street cars, i generally stick w/ 1:24th and 1:25th but am open to other scales occasionally, esp. for subjects I like...I'd like to have more space for 1/12th and other large scale kits...
  17. For 1:20th I like F1 kits in that scale, but really haven't gotten into street cars in that scale, though i do have a couple '70s MPC Corvettes and the Lindberg Grand Cherokee, Explorer, and S10. It would be interesting to see a list of what Lindberg made in that scale, I remember seeing them on the shelves back in the day...that they were molded in color was a bigger turn off to me than the scale.
  18. Yes...I have one of the '62 annuals, has an opening trunk..don't know if any of the later issues had that detail. The circa-1978 'Countdown Series' issue I built as a kid doesn't.
  19. And a '65 Plymouth, '63 Dodge and Plymouth, etc. Though those are all readily available in resin, it would be nice to see them in styrene.
  20. Not Tom, but it would stand to reason that if other tooling existed and was viable they would have already issued it...
  21. Sounds like that effort never got off the ground from what I've read elsewhere. One of the principals pulled out or something like that.
  22. Sharp build...I love the '60s Galaxie...I bought a mint unbuilt sealed one of these about 10 years ago, the windshield frame is broken. Still haven't gotten around to building it...
  23. I love those Johan AMC kits. I have the common items ('69 AMX, Rebel Machine, S/C Rambler) but the more obscure items ('67-69 Ambassador, '69 Rebel, '68-70 Javelin) are all on my grail list...
  24. I got to thinking about this--it seems to me that the Lindberg '90s era kits ('53 Ford, '61 Impala, '64 Dodge & Plymouth, etc) were the first kits Lindberg ever did in 1:25th...previous Lindberg-branded 1:25th models were ex-IMC, Pyro, or Palmer tools....maybe there is something obscure I'm missing, though. True enough...IMC was long before my time, the only IMC origin kits I have are later Testors or Lindberg reissues.
