  1. You have to search under Revell and Monogram and look for kits w/ release months later this year.
  2. Neat old kit, lots of options. I have one in my stash.

    What if...?

A what if I'd like to build in scale is to kitbash the roof of an AMT '65 Galaxie onto an AMT '65 Lincoln to make a phantom 2dr.
  4. Here is a Foose '69 Camaro, don't know if this is the one the kit will be 'inspired' by.. http://www.superchevy.com/features/sucp_0708_1969_foose_camaro/viewall.html Though a google image search on 'Foose 69 Camaro' comes up w/ several different cars...this black one, a red one, an orange one, etc...
  5. Sharp build. I saw one of these in person (yellow and tan) in Florida back in the '80s. IIRC, there was a car magazine ad in the late '70s for a CB radio that had a yellow one w/ a hay bale in the bed.
  6. There about a dozen other kits listed on Tower's site as new for fall...some predictable follow up 2nd versions of recent new kits ('50 Olds Custom, '57 Ford stock car (Fireball Roberts), '62 Corvette Gasser), some reissues (Motorcraft T-Bird Pro Stock, '37 Ford street rod, '78 Corvette Indy Pace Car, Rat Fink, '53 Chevy Panel, VW New Beetle, KW Wrecker), one modified reissue I'm interested in ('69 Shelby GT500 convertible) and likely a rebox of the upcoming RoG '60s Beetle.
  7. The grille illustration on the new box art mock up actually kind of resembles a '67 grille more than a '66.
  8. Neat idea... I like Instagram, use it both on my Android phone and my work iPhone.
  9. That's what it says...
  10. Says 'Build Drag, Stock or Custom' on the box art in the photo...
  11. I like the phantom retro box art...they've also done '67 and '69 kits this way, maybe they will do something '68 style (one of my favorite years of vintage AMT box art)...maybe the El Camino.
  12. Fascinating...I'd seen pics of the 1:1, didn't know it was kitted. The kit seems to be inaccurate as far as some details like the side windows...
  13. Alas, doing an '83/84 or '85/86 from this kit would require a lot of changes...different interior, different side windows, rub strips, front and rear bumpers, hood, side quarter windows, etc. Basically a new body w/ all the trim differences.
  14. MPC made the '83 and '84 in 1/25th. The '85-86 (non-SVO) was never kitted.
  15. Sharp build...nice to see one with larger wheels/tires than the tiny ones the 1:1s have...I see so many of them everyday, they blend in after a while.
  16. Some nice builds...as far as the scale, remember these kits date back to the '80s---before Revell bought Monogram, and 1/24th was Monogram's standard scale. I built these back in the day as a kid and they still build up nicely today IMO after so many reissues.
  17. I remember that...I bought some resin kits from him at a Copperstate show and the NNL West probably 10 years ago. Sad to hear, he always had some interesting items in his resin line.
  18. I see no problem with lots of categories, as long as they are clearly defined. Imagine how awful it would be if there were no categories and just one forum with page after page of uncategorized posts and threads...
  19. I doubt if many people would read it either. People are lazy...
  20. '70s cars are one of my favorite old car eras, esp. full size. I have the AMT '70 Fords (Galaxie and LTD), '70 Buick, AMT and MPC '70 Impalas, and the MPC '71 and '72 Impalas, '73-76 Caprices. The drop-off in promo orders from the automakers probably accounts partially for why so few kits were made back in the day after 1970 in the full size niche. However, the resin makers, esp. Modelhaus and Missing Link, have done many interesting subjects in this niche...I've got the Modelhaus '70 Ford wagons, '72 Ford Custom, '72 LTD, '72 Riviera, '73 Caprice wagon, '75 Impala 4dr, '76 Caddy Coupe de Ville, Motor City Resin '70 XL, ML '71 Galaxie and '78 LTD, AAR '71 Olds 88 and '71 Riviera, R&R '70 Chrysler 300, '70 Chevy wagon, and F&F '70 Impala 4dr ht.
  21. LoL...in theory, 5pm, but some coworkers start drinking at lunch, esp. on Thursdays when we have our weekly company meeting in the afternoon....
  22. Collecting diecast, promo models, watching a lot of motorsport (F1, IndyCar, NASCAR, DTM, etc), movies, going to races (IndyCar, NASCAR, ALMS), travel, listening to music, going to concerts, dining out (consider myself a foodie--love good food, good wine, good beer), enjoying time w/ my dogs.
  23. +1. My company has plenty of Jameson, Laphroaig, Johnny Walker, etc in the kitchen (along w/ a fully stocked beer fridge) for happy hour and after hours consumption...
  24. Sharp build..that kit is on my to-buy list, will look nice w/ my AMT '67-71 T-bird annuals.
