  1. 'late model' to me means the last decade or so...i.e. since around 2000. Probably varies w/ other people..
  2. Actually, the Revell '63 snap kit is promo based and builds up quite nicely w/ some detailing effort.
  3. Beautiful build...love the color choice and the clean style.
  4. Interesting... I have pretty much zero interest in cars from around 1950 or earlier, so I don't really notice the distinctions in the sub cultures....don't care for the rusty 'rat' stuff, but unrestored original or concours restored will get my attention.
  5. Well, I've been to a few of the Goodguys car shows w all the old cars, and the majority in attendance seem to be the gray haired crowd...
  6. Nice STS..always liked that generation of them. I have an '11 STS, the last year of production...love it.
  7. I wouldn't think there would be an argument there...the phrase is 'model kit'.
  8. Heh-heh... I'm not into those sites; I thought that was the AARP crowd.
  9. Why? Because we can. (my unbuilt stash is only around 1500 kits).
  10. Hopefully there are people in the model industry making product decisions that have a more modern perspective..the American auto industry continues beyond 42 years ago.
  11. It's odd that Revell hasn't reissued the '58 or '59 yet...they were only issued once each briefly.
  12. I remember first seeing the VWs and Subaru in the AMT '79 catalog as a kid...just in the last year I've picked up all 3 in unbuilt form. Neat kits.
  13. I don't think I'd call it a trend...I've heard this term and seen it in the mags and online for at least 20 years...
  14. Lots of good ones mentioned...another one I like is in 'To Live and Die in LA' involving an '80s Impala...
  15. Yes, it's obvious looking at it that it's an Aston Martin w/ maybe the Ford Evos concept nose photoshopped on. It's amazing how gullible people are to think it is actually the 2015 Mustang.
  16. I believe many of them don't realize it's just a photoshopped image and assume it's for real.
  17. I'm so slow at building, it will be a while...not sure when I get to it...not sure what chassis I will use, have a bunch of Mopar Pro Stock kits to build...Johan '71 Cudas, CR '71 Challenger and '72 Cuda, MPC '72 Duster and '73 Duster..
  18. I got my set of Chuck's Billy the Kid decals today...they look great, excellent quality. Look forward to using them on my Competition Resins '72 Demon Pro Stock.
  19. Yeah, as well as an April 17, 2014 on-sale date...
  20. The proportions on that blue illustration look weird..too much front overhang and too much space between the door and rear wheel..
  21. The Evos is probably foreshadowing some of the styling themes of the next Mustang, if not the details. Since the next Mustang will be a world car on sale in many markets outside NA, I suspect it will be more of a modern/forward looking design rather than a retro design..
  22. The '71 Firebird Pegasus...a pet project at GM built by/for GM Styling exec Bill Mitchell...it had a restyled front and rear w/ Ferrari-esque styling. http://www.motortrend.com/classic/features/c12_0603_1971_pontiac_firebird_pegasus/
  23. Why would you believe something he posted? He doesn't work for Ford. He's just a tv personality.
  24. Some people believe any image posted on the internet is 100% accurate. They aren't thinking critically about the sources of such information.
