  1. Sharp build...I built one of those when the kit first came out, bright red. It's a very nice kit, if you get past the awful box art.
  2. I don't remember that place, but I was pretty little when I lived in Steubenville..was 11 when I last lived there in '82. But I do remember Sunset Blvd--my elementary school was on it and I lived in a neighborhood just off of Sunset across from the school.
  3. I assume the most recent issue of coupe is the same as the Good Guys one (red car on box) from the mid oughts...
  4. Welcome aboard. I'm an Ohio native, from Steubenville and the hills of Tuscarawas County (near Gnadenhutten) originally....lived in Kent and the Stow area (Kent State, '88 and '92) before moving to Michigan in '94. Still go back once-twice a year to visit family. So green and humid back there, enjoy my visits. Speaking of my past modeling experiences w/ models and Ohio, my first 1/25th scale glue kits came from a Mr Wiggs store in Steubenville in 1977. Also remember getting kits at Harts and Rinks stores in New Philadelphia in the late '70s-early '80s.
  5. A later release of that kit ('Bad Dream', molded in green plastic) was my first 1/25th glue kit...
  6. I've thought about backdating one of my '59s to a '58 w/ a Modelhaus bumper/grille....won't be 100% a '58 (other trim differences)...
  7. Around 1989-1990 is when I really started liking Revell kits...the Cougar, T-Bird, Grand Prix 'annuals', the '69 Camaro, Thunderbolt, etc. Previous to that I'd built a few that I found unsatisfactory (79/80 Mustangs, '56 Chevy 2dr sedan).
  8. Johan did '67-68 promos; AMT did kits and promos through '66. IIRC, AMT's '66 kit was available as a stock convertible only before it was butchered. But previous years ('60-65) AMT did ht and conv kits.
  9. AMT made Imperials through '66. But the '66s got butchered into a version from a short-lived TV series ('Hero') and a pickup version. The '60-63 are the ones I'm lacking in my collection.
  10. CR even drifted the Tesla while testing.. http://jalopnik.com/tesla-model-s-will-it-drift-498690581
  11. Ewww...TMI. I replace socks & underwear pretty much every year..
  12. I seem to recall there were other outrageous '70s show cars also kitted by Airfix..when I was a kid, IIRC they were sold in the US under the 'US Airfix' brand...I remember the Ferrari Rainbow and maybe a Maserati (Boomerang?)....
  13. Heading toward 43 now. Some things I've noticed about being past 40 than when I was before 40 is I now have to take off my glasses and squint to read my cell phone...maybe need reading glasses. I also got my first Cadillac when I was 41... I don't seem to be able to drink as much as I did in my mid 30s, which is probably a good thing. I find I need stronger sleeping pills now, harder to sleep. I find myself craving afternoon naps. I still remember being a teenager in the Big 80s, doesn't seem that long ago, but it's been 25 years now since high school..hard to believe.
  14. Or paint a regular kit hood w/ Clearview 2000.
  15. That vintage of DTM car had some seriously wild rear splitters and fairings...
  16. Speaking of battery life, gas-electric hybrids have been around a long time now, I do wonder how battery life is with them...I've never heard of anyone replacing the battery on a Prius, for example. I have friends that have put over 200k on their older Prii and are still on the original battery pack...
  17. Sweet..love the selection...I saw an Aston Zagato very similar to the pictured car a few years ago here at the Copperstate 1000 event. I'd love to have seen the Senna Lotus....I saw a Mario Andretti Lotus 77 in JPS livery at Sonoma a few years ago...love those cars.
  18. Given I drive about 50 miles a day round trip M-F, an electric would work fine for me as a commuter car for the range...but I'll stick my w/ 6-cyl RWD car and SUV for the forseeable future, though I may switch to a V8 RWD car for my next daily driver. It all depends on the driver's use case for a car whether or not the range is an issue.
  19. It is a beautiful car, seen several around here. I have no problem w/ Consumer Reports approach, I know I'm not their target audience as far as cars...I'm not in the mainstream..nothing wrong w/ that. I've used CR before in evaluating home appliances, (washer and dryer, etc), their methodology seems sound..
  20. Consumer Reports definitely is not a 'gearhead' or auto enthusiast type publication. They are a consumer-focused publication for the mainstream that buy a car for transportation. The Tesla is a niche eco-luxury car, odd that they would like it so much, compared to say a Prius, Camry or other mainstream appliance.
  21. I am surprised they are Foosing the 1/12th Camaro....though a Foosed 1/25th Camaro probably wouldn't be much different than the existing Motor City Muscle kits (same idea)..
  22. I don't like mayonaisse. I don't have cats. But I do give my dogs a monthly flea and tick treatment...I use Bio Spot, they make it for cats also I believe.
  23. I really doubt they will do that..sounds like this as described-- the existing Z/28 kit with Foose wheels, large tires, and new decals..doubt if there are any other new parts.
  24. They've been around at least 20 years...I remember ordering from their print catalog and buying parts from them at the Toledo show back around '91 or so..
