  1. Ahh...more fake stuff on the forum, like some of the fake posters...
  2. Says 'Highway Pioneers' on the box..must be a different Highway Pioneers series.
  3. On another forum, someone said they thought this pic might just be a photo of a diecast used temporarily, as opposed to a photo of a built kit.
  4. See posts #41, 42, 45, 47...off-topic ramblings.
  5. This thread has gone off the rails into an incoherent mess of off-topic directions.
  6. Well, there isn't a forum here for future releases that I've seen...and did you miss all the 'Revell 2013 new releases' threads that have been here the last few months?? Like the current thread here on the upcoming Mustang LX kit..
  7. Or they are going to do the new McLaren P1.
  8. Really looking forward to this one...feels like it's been almost 20 years I've been wanting a kit of this car.
  9. That's also because the primary focus of Round 2, Revell and Moiebus is the older builder....as long as they focus on subjects that appeal primarily to an older crowd, they aren't going to gain younger builders...a topic that has already been hashed over ad infinitium. Only a small niche of younger builders are going to be interested in subjects their grandparents would have been interested in.
  10. Ouch..desert area? I was over in Fontana and Palm Springs last September, was warmer than here in Phoenix...
  11. Back in the low 100s here..got in the pool last night..the water is still a bit cold for me (79 degrees) , but if there is any upside to the heat of the next 4 months or so, it's that I can get in a lot of pool time...
  12. I built one that was molded in a bright blue, big GTS fender flares, front air dam, big rear wing. Has a motorized style chassis, minimal interior detail (no door panels). It's from an offbeat Japanese company--Imaj, IIRC....got it in a hobby shop in Florida in the mid '80s. Not sure, but it may be the same tooling as that USAirfix kit.
  13. I don't care about the police parts, but am more interested in the body accuracy. I've got one on order, figure check one out first before I may get another.
  14. Sharp build...I built one of those when the kit first came out, bright red. It's a very nice kit, if you get past the awful box art.
  15. I don't remember that place, but I was pretty little when I lived in Steubenville..was 11 when I last lived there in '82. But I do remember Sunset Blvd--my elementary school was on it and I lived in a neighborhood just off of Sunset across from the school.
  16. I assume the most recent issue of coupe is the same as the Good Guys one (red car on box) from the mid oughts...
  17. Welcome aboard. I'm an Ohio native, from Steubenville and the hills of Tuscarawas County (near Gnadenhutten) originally....lived in Kent and the Stow area (Kent State, '88 and '92) before moving to Michigan in '94. Still go back once-twice a year to visit family. So green and humid back there, enjoy my visits. Speaking of my past modeling experiences w/ models and Ohio, my first 1/25th scale glue kits came from a Mr Wiggs store in Steubenville in 1977. Also remember getting kits at Harts and Rinks stores in New Philadelphia in the late '70s-early '80s.
  18. A later release of that kit ('Bad Dream', molded in green plastic) was my first 1/25th glue kit...
  19. I've thought about backdating one of my '59s to a '58 w/ a Modelhaus bumper/grille....won't be 100% a '58 (other trim differences)...
  20. Around 1989-1990 is when I really started liking Revell kits...the Cougar, T-Bird, Grand Prix 'annuals', the '69 Camaro, Thunderbolt, etc. Previous to that I'd built a few that I found unsatisfactory (79/80 Mustangs, '56 Chevy 2dr sedan).
  21. Johan did '67-68 promos; AMT did kits and promos through '66. IIRC, AMT's '66 kit was available as a stock convertible only before it was butchered. But previous years ('60-65) AMT did ht and conv kits.
  22. AMT made Imperials through '66. But the '66s got butchered into a version from a short-lived TV series ('Hero') and a pickup version. The '60-63 are the ones I'm lacking in my collection.
  23. CR even drifted the Tesla while testing.. http://jalopnik.com/tesla-model-s-will-it-drift-498690581
  24. Ewww...TMI. I replace socks & underwear pretty much every year..
