  1. Another forum (automotive in nature) that I participate in has regular free membership w/ ads, and a paid membership ($12/yr) without ads and some special forums open only to paid members...they are using the same IP Board software. Works quite well there, I'd think such an approach could work here..
  2. Very sharp build..love the color & the wheel & tire choices. I plan to do one of my '68s w/ the steelies & dds.
  3. This reminds me alot of a Hot Wheels t-bucket that was issued in the '80s IIRC..it was yellow w/ red flames in one issue.
  4. Ask Gregg.
  5. Apparently there were two different types of t-tops used between '77 and '78. The Monogram, MPC, and Revell kits all differ in this detail.
  6. Hideous mish-mash. but I like the surroundings, the house and grounds remind me of places I've seen in Ohio. (I do wonder where the pic was taken, the house looks really familiar from the area of Eastern Ohio I'm from).
  7. Those 3 are probably coming in Nov or Dec.... the announced releases through October are online, and those 3 aren't listed...
  8. That is cool..never seen anything like that.
  9. Yeah, advertising is just part of business...as are ad blockers. I'm sure I'll eventually be walking along wearing Google Glass getting ads popping up in my line of sight, but there will be ways around them...
  10. Yeah...I don't do desktops..haven't had a desktop anything in 7 years...as a software consultant, I need portablity.
  11. A few cons are they tend to be heavy, get hot (aluminum body transfers heat), can't change the battery easily in the newer models, and the aluminium body will dent when dropped (but that's also a plus compared to a Windows laptop that will crack)....but I've used Mac Book Pros at home and for work for several years now, very happy with them overall..
  12. Interesting..will have to watch the video..
  13. So true... I couldn't imagine going back to Windoze...
  14. I think viruses are mostly a problem w/ IE and Windows. I try and stick w/ Firefox, Sea Monkey or Chrome on a Mac..
  15. Yes... wasn't going back that far for examples..early Saabs had them also.
  16. I guess they are 'suicide' doors if people jump out while the car is moving, 'homicide' if you push someone out while the car is moving... As far as 'homicide' doors, I always thought the sliding doors on vans would be useful for drive-by shootings. Anyway, reverse-opening doors look silly IMO except for cars that came that way from the factory (like modern Rolls Royce 2drs and the '60s 4dr Lincolns)..
  17. You miss the point. By the logic of separating General from Off-Topic, Gregg's pinned board admin theme posts should be in Off Topic also.
  18. Well, blocking the ads kind of defeats the purpose of putting the ads in there...
  19. Not sure, but at least he kept it relatively succinct rather than his usual lengthy monologues w/ references to Indiana..
  20. General is near the top of the forum list, Off Topic is down near the bottom and you have to scroll to get to it... by putting it in Off Topic, they are hoping most people don't see it..
  21. Probably the same differences the RoG version of the '06 Mustang GT had from the NA kit...the inclusion of European number plates. I like the RoG versions for the better box art but not the flat boxes.
  22. Lots I'm looking forward to...the Fujimi McLaren F1 and Aoshima Rocket Bunny Toyota 86 (have those on preorder w/ my favorite Japanese dealer), Revell's 4th quarter releases ('57 Chevy Bel Air convertible, '69 Shelby GT500 convertible, '70 Cuda (hope this turns out better than the test shots looked), the '80s Camaro and Thunderbird Pro Stock reissues, the RoG VWs, and a bunch of AMT and MPC reissues...the '69 Chevelle convertible, '72 Chevy rescue van, '71 Dodge Demon, AMC Pacer in particular...
  23. AdBlock Plus for Firefox blocks the annoying ads. (it also works w/ Sea Monkey which I use w/ a proxy to get around annoying corporate firewalls).
  24. I haven't compared the parts trees w/ the RoG version I got a few months ago, but I assume they are the same except for the decals and box style. Builds RHD or LHD, 2 grille choices (Austin or Morris, I believe)....the US release has some US style license plate decals but no US style plates to put them on, as far as I can tell..
  25. Sharp build..love those green '70s cars.
