The Bandit Resins '70 GTX is nice, I have it in my resin collection...for a 1/25th '70 Road Runner, I got the R&R '70 RR a couple of years ago, a resin repro of the vintage Johan kit, I assume.

I wonder if the aftermarket will make metal rivets that you can use to replace the molded in ones..

Things were pretty crazy back in '99-01 in the software biz...I had one company make me a six-figure offer after only a 30 min phone interview...didn't even want an in-person interview, wanted me to start the next day, 100 miles away. I think that company tanked a few months later.

I had an interview once back in the dot.bomb era where when I showed up at the office for an interview they were boxing up and moving out..the company had shut down.

It was junked somewhere 40 years ago and the tree grew up around it? Or hooligans (or the Aussie equivalent) put it up there?

Pretty recent, I would say looking at the vehicles in the background, before the restoration started. This is the 'Duke and Dutchess' Daytona according to the article, Big Willie's 3rd Daytona..

I paid $220 for a promo (MPC '71 Impala convertible), $150 for a well-built AMT '66 Buick Skylark, $175 for an unbuilt AMT '67 Galaxie convertible....I have lots of unbuilt older AMT, MPC, and Johan kits I've paid anywhere from $50-150 for. As far as new kits, I paid $60 or so for a Fujimi 1/20th F1 car, similar amount for Ebbro F1 car kits. I do plan to build them all...

Of course, I buy a variety of kits...but actually finishing a build, that's another story..

the H3 truck was kind of interesting..they didn't make very many of those.

It's the H2 that has the really negative image.

Got a few items in the last week...a couple of extra Revell '64 Fairlanes (to kitbash w/ MCW '63 & '65 Fairlane sedans)--I looked for these at the recent local swap meet, but the '08 issue seems to be scarce, scored a couple on eBay; a Revell Motion '67 Cobra drag car (that was the only variation of the Monogram Cobra I didn't have), and some resin kits-- R&R '63 Plymouth Savoy 2dr sedan and '65 Plymouth Belvedere wagon, and a 1/24th '87-93 Mustang LX hatchback.

Going off that list, I'd never drive a Hummer, but I have driven many Town Cars and an Escalade, though..they are great for road trips..big, comfortable, old-school Americana.

Born in 1970, lots of interesting cars from that year. Dodge Challenger, Mustang, and the big Ford and Mercury coupes (XL and Marauder) being among my favorites.

Neat...I grew up around those land yachts..my Dad's first Lincoln was a '76, he got a new one every few years up until his last, which was a '96 Town Car.

I assume it will be just a straight reissue of the '68 kit...that picture w/ the vinyl top is a pic of someone's car parked in a driveway, (the original image turns up in a Google search on '68 Road Runners), probably not indicative of the kit, don't think they'd add a vinyl top.

I've always assumed it was done that way so the Nova and Ventura II kits could share the body.

Round 2 is reissuing the '78 MPC Pacer kit later this year...

I guess Fox is going for the big audiences and ratings...there are a lot of more fans of team sports on TV out there than motorsports, I'm afraid. At least for now Speed 2 is still available online w a lot of coverage. I do like the Indy Car and F1 coverage on NBC Sports (and they are getting some NASCAR in 2015), I'm wondering where the new United Sportscar Racing series will be next year. As far as the car 'reality' shows, about the only ones I like are Chasing Classic Cars and Wheeler Dealers on Velocity..the others I've tried watching (Phantom Works, Cut, Chomp, Rebuild, etc ) seem to have too much fake drama for my taste).

The Aventador roadster would be nice to see.....or maybe Aoshima will get into Ferraris....though I would think Fujimi will be the first to kit the new Ferrari La Ferrari. I'd also like to see the Ferrari 458 Italia Spyder (would think RoG or Fujimi would do that one).

Exactly...they must be selling pretty well...I hope they do a Wide Oval tire set and a redline tire set eventually.

Yep..also they are.subjects largely forgotten and gone in 1:1, but as kits they can be built pretty nicely. Siimilarly the MPC Omni 024/Charger hatchbacks of the early '80s.
