  1. I assume it will be just a straight reissue of the '68 kit...that picture w/ the vinyl top is a pic of someone's car parked in a driveway, (the original image turns up in a Google search on '68 Road Runners), probably not indicative of the kit, don't think they'd add a vinyl top.
  2. I've always assumed it was done that way so the Nova and Ventura II kits could share the body.
  3. Round 2 is reissuing the '78 MPC Pacer kit later this year...
  4. I guess Fox is going for the big audiences and ratings...there are a lot of more fans of team sports on TV out there than motorsports, I'm afraid. At least for now Speed 2 is still available online w a lot of coverage. I do like the Indy Car and F1 coverage on NBC Sports (and they are getting some NASCAR in 2015), I'm wondering where the new United Sportscar Racing series will be next year. As far as the car 'reality' shows, about the only ones I like are Chasing Classic Cars and Wheeler Dealers on Velocity..the others I've tried watching (Phantom Works, Cut, Chomp, Rebuild, etc ) seem to have too much fake drama for my taste).
  5. The Aventador roadster would be nice to see.....or maybe Aoshima will get into Ferraris....though I would think Fujimi will be the first to kit the new Ferrari La Ferrari. I'd also like to see the Ferrari 458 Italia Spyder (would think RoG or Fujimi would do that one).
  6. Exactly...they must be selling pretty well...I hope they do a Wide Oval tire set and a redline tire set eventually.
  7. Yep..also they are.subjects largely forgotten and gone in 1:1, but as kits they can be built pretty nicely. Siimilarly the MPC Omni 024/Charger hatchbacks of the early '80s.
  8. Very nice..very realistic. Great photography.
  9. New tool releases, new reissues, modified reissues, old originals, old reissues, 'used' builtups...I buy 'em all if the subject interests me..
  10. Looks more like he started w/ the AMT Ford van...you can see the side crease and taillight shapes in the 2nd pic...
  11. The funny thing is, every time Round 2 comes out with another tire set, there is the same whining about the price. Over and over again.
  12. The blue van in the first pic is not remotely stock...heavily customized front and sides...a '60s vintage custom, apparently.
  13. What's 'change' or 'cash'? I rarely ever use cash, and lately I've noticed more and more places using Square and other card readers that attach to cell phones in place of old-school cash registers..
  14. It is unfortunate...though I consider myself pretty modern and have been an early adopter of e-books (have a 1st gen Kindle and Kindle Fire HD tablet), e-magazines (Zinio subscriptions), streaming TV and movies, mp3s and streaming music, etc I still enjoy collecting physical media--CDs, Blu Ray DVDs, books, magazines... I spent many an hour in bookstores over the years...was a big fan of Borders since living in their home town (Ann Arbor, MI) back in the '90s. Denver has a great independent bookstore, The Tattered Cover, that I frequented when I lived there. I also miss record stores--from Tower Records to local independents. It is so easy to buy so much online--I use Amazon Prime all the time-- but I do miss physical destinations..
  15. Pontiacs of that era had really nasty interior plastics....very cheap and cheesy inside. But it was the weird exterior styling that turned off most people.
  16. The Do Not Call lists don't seem to work anymore...that's why I keep my phone on vibrate or the ringer off most of the time...
  17. I guess even shadetree mechanics were more formal in dress in olden days..
  18. Yeah, I like old stuff also, esp. from the '70s. But the 'all old only' approach is not a long term business model for a model company... a company can't only make subjects aimed at the AARP crowd and hope to have a future.
  19. 1999...Revell Silverado, Ford Lightning, and Harley-Davidson F-series. Most recent Ram is '93-94. It's unfortunate...would love to see some current pickups kitted, but I'm sure the head-in-the-sand/living in the past naysayer crowd that have no interest in anything modern would say that new truck kits wouldn't sell...
  20. True..this hobby does seem to have a lot of cheapskates...
  21. Vent windows, grille, rear bumper & taillights, front pan (different turn signals/marker lights than the '69). Unfortunately, the 68 kits all have the hole in the hood.
