Difference between 31 and 32 Ford
Rob Hall replied to trackbound's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Interesting..didn't realize that production was that low in '32. It seems there are far more around today than then, what with all the rods and replicas.. -
The Cayenne and Panamera are too big and heavy, IMO...they are nice luxury cars, but don't really fit the traditional Porsche definition...
-
Definitely tight...a friend had child seats in the back of his 911 when his kids were small... I rode in the back of a '76 911 once, had to sit crossways w/ my feet on the seat and head ducked...very tight.
-
Good point..the 356 and 911 have been 4 seaters, as were their front engine sports cars...they've had a few 2 seat models like the Boxster, Cayman, Speedster, 550 Spyder, Carrera GT...but the 'volume' models have been mostly been 4 seat sports cars until the Cayenne and Panamera.

Nah, too much profit.

Ya, stuff on pretty much any car wears out due to age, mileage and quality/quantity of maintenance....250k is a lot... it looks like my Jeep is going to be the first vehicle I've taken to 150k miles...haven't accumulated anything close to that in mileage before..

2014 Jeep Cherokee Test Drive
Rob Hall replied to slusher's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Definitely distinctive looking..saw one in traffic briefly last week. I think if I moved back to a snowy climate, though, I'd be looking into the updated '14 Grand Cherokee to replace my '00 Grand Cherokee....I've been very happy w/ my GC over the last 13 years. -
I don't think that one was ever on their site...but rumor is it's still coming, but in '14. There are other kits that were previously mentioned that haven't been on the site, like the AMT '57 Ford, AMT '66 Mustang conv, MPC '74 Cuda snap kit... who knows, maybe there will clarification about future Round 2 releases around Oct 5th or so...

Stopped by the LHS after work and picked up the Revell '62 Corvette Gasser and Foose Charger. They look pretty good at first glance at the parts

An end of an era
Rob Hall replied to Madd Trucker's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The later Mexico and Brazil T2s had a water cooled engine also...there was a company importing them into the UK recently, I've read. The EOP is mentioned on the Wikipedia page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Type_2 -
It will be interesting to see if they do more Foose cars next year.. his '70 Cuda 'Terracuda' would be neat to see based on the new '70 Cuda kit.
-
Hmmm...that could be an interesting build.. build a Foose-style GL '69 Charger...
-
That's the normal Revell release cycle...shops in the preferred vendor program get them around the 20th-25th of the month, everywhere else early in the following month.

I went to the Coronado Speed Festival this past weekend, at Coronado Island/North Island NAS in San Diego. Had a great weekend, saw a bunch of neat vintage race cars, some racing, and a variety of interesting street cars on show. A little of bit of everything--lots of Porsches since the 911 was featured marque, '70s Datsun race cars, some vintage Trans Am cars, NASCAR cars, Can Am cars, open wheel race cars. Got to meet Tony Adamowicz, great guy to chat with. here's a few pics.. More pics at my Fotki album here http://public.fotki.com/robertwadehall/coronado-speed-fest/

I can see the top of the engines in my '00 and '11 cars...but really can't see much around them, though. On the Cadillacs, that is partially due to underhood panels that cover the dirty bits. Some of the Jeep engine is visible. On my vintage '87 Mustang GT I can see a lot of the engine and a bit of the ground..

Long cold winters and isolation can drive some people mad, I would think.. -
My coworkers who know I'm a BB fan (several of them are also) had fun today w/ photoshop--put my face on Jesse...

It's interesting being able to compare and contrast the iPhone and Android phones daily.. I'm on my 2nd personal Android phone (Motorola Droid Razr Maxx HD) and have had an iPhone 5 for work for the last year. There are definitely pros and cons to each.

Curious about how something works on the site.

I assume it's getting the unread threads since you last selected it....I never log out if I can avoid it, always stay logged in and just hit 'View New Content' periodically. -
It took about an hour for mine to update last night...the icons for apps in ios7 look quite different...bright and almost cartoony.
