  1. R&R is now presumably out of business after Ray Parson's death. I have the R&R '61,'62, '63 and '69 Chevy wagons..they are all based off of the old AMT annuals...they need cleanup (not as clean as a Modelhaus resin kit for example), but with some effort they can be built pretty well..
  2. That was something that was announced a while back as a 2013 release for Round 2/AMT....who knows if it will actually happen or not..it's not pictured on their website. It would be neat to see the AMT '66 back in it's original form (the '60s annual was a convertible), but I'll be surprised if it happens...
  3. For anything Hobby Link Japan (www.hlj.com) and Hobby Search (http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/car/) are good sources for Japanese kits..HLJ is my main supplier for Aoshima, Fujimi, etc kits..
  4. I wonder about the regular McLaren F1 release...it was scheduled for August...HLJ is still showing it as August (I have one on preorder).
  5. It's showing as an October release currently... That's the new Revell of Germany Beetle..there is a thread or two around here about them (new coupe and convertible kits)
  6. It's the drivers of H2s that had/have a negative image--they seemed to attract tastless bling-bling fans or right wingers.
  7. I wonder if there are many places left that develop it either....I haven't used film cameras in probably at least 10 years..
  8. The Bandit Resins '70 GTX is nice, I have it in my resin collection...for a 1/25th '70 Road Runner, I got the R&R '70 RR a couple of years ago, a resin repro of the vintage Johan kit, I assume.
  9. I wonder if the aftermarket will make metal rivets that you can use to replace the molded in ones..
  10. Things were pretty crazy back in '99-01 in the software biz...I had one company make me a six-figure offer after only a 30 min phone interview...didn't even want an in-person interview, wanted me to start the next day, 100 miles away. I think that company tanked a few months later.
  11. I had an interview once back in the dot.bomb era where when I showed up at the office for an interview they were boxing up and moving out..the company had shut down.
  12. It was junked somewhere 40 years ago and the tree grew up around it? Or hooligans (or the Aussie equivalent) put it up there?
  13. Pretty recent, I would say looking at the vehicles in the background, before the restoration started. This is the 'Duke and Dutchess' Daytona according to the article, Big Willie's 3rd Daytona..
  14. I paid $220 for a promo (MPC '71 Impala convertible), $150 for a well-built AMT '66 Buick Skylark, $175 for an unbuilt AMT '67 Galaxie convertible....I have lots of unbuilt older AMT, MPC, and Johan kits I've paid anywhere from $50-150 for. As far as new kits, I paid $60 or so for a Fujimi 1/20th F1 car, similar amount for Ebbro F1 car kits. I do plan to build them all...
  15. Ah, so the Dark Knight has a chauffeur now...Alfred? He's a long way from Gotham City.
  16. Mine never rings, even if a signature is required...just leaves a note on the door. Working at home today, saw him through the front window walk up and leave packages...
  17. The Modelhaus makes '58 and '59 cabs. http://www.modelhaus.com/index.php?c=4064
  18. Of course, I buy a variety of kits...but actually finishing a build, that's another story..
  19. the H3 truck was kind of interesting..they didn't make very many of those.
  20. It's the H2 that has the really negative image.
  21. Got a few items in the last week...a couple of extra Revell '64 Fairlanes (to kitbash w/ MCW '63 & '65 Fairlane sedans)--I looked for these at the recent local swap meet, but the '08 issue seems to be scarce, scored a couple on eBay; a Revell Motion '67 Cobra drag car (that was the only variation of the Monogram Cobra I didn't have), and some resin kits-- R&R '63 Plymouth Savoy 2dr sedan and '65 Plymouth Belvedere wagon, and a 1/24th '87-93 Mustang LX hatchback.
  22. Going off that list, I'd never drive a Hummer, but I have driven many Town Cars and an Escalade, though..they are great for road trips..big, comfortable, old-school Americana.
  23. Born in 1970, lots of interesting cars from that year. Dodge Challenger, Mustang, and the big Ford and Mercury coupes (XL and Marauder) being among my favorites.
  24. Neat...I grew up around those land yachts..my Dad's first Lincoln was a '76, he got a new one every few years up until his last, which was a '96 Town Car.
