  1. It is odd they haven't been reissued...would have thought vintage Corvettes would always sell, and the '59 had the optional big wheels that would fit in with Revell's more recent 'Motor City Muscle' or 'California Wheels' series...
  2. Some other Aoshima 86 kits have engines, don't they? As far as stock 86/BRZ kits, I have the Tamiya ones..not familiar w/ the Aoshima offerings.
  3. You get what you pay for....I've bought cheap resin kits from some vendors, and the quality difference compared to the Modelhaus and other tier-1 vendors is glaring... I love the subject matter and detailing of Modelhaus resin kits and parts--been buying from them for probably 20 years now...tons of parts for old kit restorations, and probably 50 or so resin kits.
  4. Hard to tell from a blurry picture of preproduction kits.
  5. ??? That's John Hodgeman from the Apple PC vs Mac ads, not Bill Gates. And the other picture is Harry Reid, who is a politician, not a boxer. John Hodgeman.
  6. I've seen at my LHS the tenative schedule through Nov, what's scheduled for December besides the Merc?
  7. I wonder if the Continental kit rear bumper is the only choice..I guess I can swap the rear bumper from the Bel Air sedan kit (I have an extra one of those to do a Nomad using a resin conversion).
  8. Exactly... It's as expensive as you make of it..
  9. Yes, I get tired of that also...one shouldn't be spending money of a hobby that can get expensive if they can't afford it. Likewise, if you are stuck on a dialup connection w/ your 486, well, that's your problem...
  10. There are differences..they are apparent when you compare them.
  11. It's pretty obvious the kits are of different tooling when you compare them.
  12. You are thinking of the '70s Ventura II and Ventura... The '61 B-body Ventura was basically an uplevel trim version of the Catalina. And yes, 8 lug wheels were used on them, the stock photo Moeibus used shows them.
  13. Yes, the '55 is the 'C-300', '56 is the 300B, '57 300C, '58 300D, etc... R
  14. It looks like a neat kit from what I've seen.. I think I'll get one with a Modelhaus '57 Plymouth wagon or '59 Ford wagon to tow it.
  15. Did they have anything new at the NNL? They usually seem to release a few new things at or around the time of the show. Edit: it looks like they do have one new item as of Oct 7th--'57 Lincoln Premiere ht.
  16. I think that is some sort of ram air hood that was used on the drag cars, and people have added them to street cars over the years....kind of the Mercury equivalent of the Mopar Super Stock hood scoops of that era, or the Ford teardrop scoop hood that was used on the Fairlane Thunderbolt drag cars. The poster Moeibus showed had a stock Cyclone hood.
  17. They always come by when I'm not home or don't ring the bell, that's why I always try and have Fed Ex shipments deliver to the local Fed Ex store.
  18. Sweet...clean build.
  19. Definitely would love to see the new Corvette kitted, coupe and convertible. Along w/ the new Viper and many others... alas, Revell and Round 2 seem to have a narrow focus on vintage subjects only these days.
  20. Sharp build..love those Johan Caddies.
  21. I see what you mean...the box art illustrations seem to show the headers pointed sideways and downwards...
  22. Lots of potential for stock and racing variations....both are currently available in resin, but it will be very nice to have full detail kits of them. Still would love to see a '68/69 Cyclone.
  23. The Revell '79 was the only 1/25th scale kit that I know of...the later bubble hatch has never been kitted.
