  1. Sounds about right...IIRC, I found that kit at a Wal-Mart up in the mountains of Colorado while on a weekend trip to Aspen.
  2. Don't know, maybe it could be modified to fit.
  3. Without a '70s MPC Pinto being readily available, I'd say the reissue of the MPC '70s Mustang II Pro Stock from a few years ago ('Fire Fighter') would be the place to start, shortening the chassis...
  4. I'm going to adapt the windows from the donor kits.
  5. Haven't built the ones I have yet, but they are cleanly cast and fit together pretty well w/ the donor kits... I've got their '71 Challenger Pro Stock, '72 Demon Pro Stock, and '72 Cuda Pro Stock...
  6. Sharp build...I like the wheels, a big improvement over the kit wheels which seem undersized.
  7. Those were goofy modified kits targeting kids and young adults...in the wrong scale also. I'd love to see kits of modern performance cars that would appeal to a broad range of adults such as the Cadillac CTS-v, '11+ Dodge Charger R/T and SRT8 (throw in a police version for that niche), '11+ Chrysler 300, variations on existing kits like a '13-14 Mustang GT, '12 Mustang Boss 302, 2010-2013 Camaro SS convertible, '14 Camaro Z-28, '14 Chevy SS (in street and NASCAR forms), '13 Ford Focus ST...a couple obivous ones I assume Revell will do is the new Corvette and Viper. Other modern subjects that could appeal to a broad spectrum of builders would be late model pickups like the Ford Raptor, Ram, Chevy Silverado. I can't be the only adult builder interested in subjects of modern cars....a number of modern subject kits would balance out Revell's line with the older subjects. Not to mention many possibilities in 1/24th of import subjects, though RoG would probably have to be involved...there is a distinct lack of kits of modern mainstream Audis, BMWs, Benzes...
  8. Interesting... so far, we haven't done too much w/ our Replicator 2 in my office...one guy printed out an Abrams tank in approx. HO scale. Another colleague printed parts for a Stirling engine project. I'm thinking i might print a Dalek.
  9. I doubt if your view is the norm... I would suspect most car enthusiasts your age would be interested in many cars of the last 20 years..cars they grew up around, not their grandpa's cars....certainly the car enthusiasts I know in real life my age and younger are interested in cars of the modern era. Not everyone is stuck in the past or has their head in the sand.
  10. Right, and even now, I can't imagine there is much interest in the '20s-50s subjects amongst modelers my age (early 40s) and younger...alas, there aren't many modelers my age and younger compared to the Baby Boomers. I'd love to see a lot more subjects of the current century tooled up.. Seems very short-sighted for model companies to focus too much on the older subjects, IMO.
  11. Says AMT in the photo..if it's the same one I have, it fits the AMT '06 Camaro concept kit. That Entex Ferrari transporter looks interesting--looks like a Ford C600 cab..
  12. Oregon has the no self service thing also...I remember the first vacation I took there being surprised when someone came out to put gas in my rental car, very strange after being used to self-serve for many years.
  13. Neat build...those funky little vans are interesting. I remember seeing this kit in a Tamiya catalog from around 1996.
  14. Yes, Colorado does the same thing. Here in AZ my 2000 was about $120 for two years but my 2011 was about $650 for the first year, less the 2nd year...
  15. Yes, population density...similar situation in AZ...outside of the Phoenix and Tucson metro areas, the rest of state is rural empty w/ a few small towns..
  16. The period styling of the custom parts just doesn't jell well with the modern lines of the donor. I don't get why people do this kind of thing, but whatever floats yer boat. I've seen a number of the C5-based Corvette conversions that use '50s and '60s front and rear Corvette styling and they just don't look right...something always looks odd about them. One truck based one I saw a while back was an S10 w/ a late '30s style Chevy truck nose, just hideous.
  17. That's funny...don't know what the rule is in AZ, but I've seen cars less than 10 years old w/ plates faded so much they are barely readable...
  18. End of the month is always the worst time to go to those places. Here in Phoenix it's every two years....last time I went, I went at 5 on a Tuesday in the middle of the month and was in and out in 15 minutes.
  19. Definitely a '68...I have two of the '68 MPC Bonnevilles, one was mint until I stepped on it..the other is built but restorable.
  20. In the last week, I've purchased the AMT retro style box reissue '67 Shelby, the '72 Opel GT, an unbuilt Johan Petty Superbird (molded in bright green, thinking about a street machine w/ 6 pack hood scoop), a rebuildable MPC '80 Volare 'Fuzz Duster' (been looking for one of those for years), and an unbuilt AMT Subaru Brat (been looking for one of those for years also).
  21. Nice Adventurer. (that was the name of the trim package, not Avenger--Avenger is a modern FWD Dodge sedan). I like the color and wheel choice, the stance is perfect..pickups w/ a relatively empty bed usually sat high in back like that... I have one of those resin short beds along w/ a '79 4 headlight grille and hood, plan to do a replica of the '79 Power Wagon I learned to drive in..
  22. Nice and green there in PA...somehow, I don't think the rock lawn w/ cactii would look good there..
  23. Better them than me out there on Saturday mornings in July when it's 105 at 8am.. My yard guys come year round, ever other weekend.
  24. Yep... I put a winter yard in this year...this pic was taken back in August '11 when my yard didn't look that great, ...hot and dry..
