  1. Looks like there are diecasts in 1:24th....I got the new NASCAR merch catalog in the mail yesterday, flipped through it a bit...
  2. Mid to late sixties I would think, when NASCAR started racing cars that were silhouettes of street cars that were unibody...like the '66-67 Fairlane.
  3. MPC did do the '82 dual headlamp chrome bumper front end style....in kit and promo form..they pop up occasionally on eBay.
  4. That seems like it would be a natural for Moeibus.
  5. Sweet...is that the Motor City Resin kit?
  6. Interesting...I've only had the stock version of the Revell '66 GTO, never had this one....looks like it has the Hurst wheels, decals and figure but no slicks or drag parts..
  7. Freezing rain at home, driving home from Tempe I saw snow in yards at about 52nd St and Camelback and ran into hail at 32nd and Camelback..really dark skies to the West around 5 or so...
  8. Mine came today...glad my mailbox is shielded from the weather..nasty out there this afternoon
  9. The AMT '29 Ford roadster had an early Hemi IIRC (at least the version I built in the late 80s (molded in red) did....the new tool Ala-Kart had one, but IIRC it was said to be undersized...
  10. I had posted this earlier, but the thread kept moving around.. MPC did the '68 through '72 Impala hts (and '68-70 convertibles, as well as a '71 promo convertible), and the '73 through '76 Caprice hts. The '76 has been reissued under AMT and MPC branding. AMT did ht and convertible annuals from '58 thru '67, and a modern tooling '67 ht, a non-stock '68 ht, and stock '69 and '70 hts (the '70 has been reissued many times). AMT also did a promo-only '61 Impala 4dr ht. AMT did a modern tooling '62 Impala convertible and Bel Air ht also. Lindberg did the '61 ht and convertible. Revell has done the '58 ht, '59 ht & conv, '60 ht, '62-64 ht, '65 ht & conv, and '66 ht. Revell also did the '91 Caprice (Police/Taxi kit), '94 Impala SS, and an '00-05 Impala police car snap kit. I think I have every 1:25th Impala/Caprice kit in my stash, except for the '58 annuals (I have the later AMT '58 ht w/ opening doors and the Revell '58).
  11. I've got several of each of the Magnum and Challenger engines to use in Pro-Touring style builds..I figure I'll use the smaller one where it fits better.
  12. I'm not really familiar w/ ICM...sounds like military models are their main line of business. Do they have a US importer?
  13. If the Moebius Fords are successful, hopefully resin casters will come out with some variations...I particularly like this 4x4 Crew Cab:
  14. The Packard and Merc 770k look pretty interesting... I had seen the Revell issue of the Opel 4dr convertible, but the weird scale (1:35th) is kind of a turn off...
  15. Sweet...I like the look of those old FJs
  16. @Tom--that is sweet! Is that in 1:25th using the early '90s AMT longbed w/ the MPC '82 Bronco clip?
  17. Ford calls the wide-side style bed a 'Styleside', I believe...a marketing term like Flareside or how in the late '60s they called fastbacks 'Sportsroofs'...
  18. Yes, lots of running changes and year-to-year differences..the '90 Mustangs, for instance, added the air bag steering wheel and knee pad, but eliminated the center arm rest.. but it came back in '91 IIRC. Also, the pony emblem on the right side of the dash was added somewhere around '90, my '87 GT didn't have it (though I later added it).
  19. '61-74 Continental...I esp. like the 4dr convertibles and the '70-74 2dr hardtops. I also like the Mk III, IV, and V.
  20. For a modern Hemi I like the Revell Magnum or Challenger (6.1 SRT engine). For a base 5.7 engine, the Testors Charger R/T engine is better than the AMT 300C engine, IMO.
  21. At one time, they did that...but in the recent Round 2 era, reissues of MPC kits are generally boxed as MPC.
  22. I can't imagine the race car hauler would have Petty decals, it is a Ford... (wouldn't Petty back then have had a Dodge truck for a hauler?)
  23. It wouldn't be under the AMT listings....search on MPC.
  24. The Tower Hobbies listing says 'AMT Petty Dodge Dart Sportsman'....separate listing from the MPC '75 Dart Sport. I wonder if it's going to be the earlier kit or just the one that was reissued around 2000 without Petty decals (a race car with the later Dart Sport bodystyle)...i.e. this kit:
