  1. I'm thinking of getting one of these and using the Johan Sox & Martin '71 Cuda as the donor for chassis, interior (since the Cuda interior is stripped out) and engine. I have a stock MPC '71 Challenger ht and a a couple AMT '70 convertibles w/ '71 conversion parts to do convertibles, but would like to do a Pro Stock '71.
  2. Sweet..that one is a must have for me.
  3. I've never seen the appeal of a clear body on a kit...kind of a cheesy gimmick, IMO. Sounds like a neat kit, though.
  4. Got some goodies from eBay today---Italeri Ferrari 250 SWB and the Testors rebox of the Johan '71 Pro Stock Cuda...I like the Testors one because it is molded in white. Awaiting also from eBay a Revell of Germany Ferrari 250 GTO from a few years ago (I have the Fujimi one, never had the RoG one (ex-Protar?)).
  5. Got the Italeri one today from eBay...looks like a pretty nice kit at first glance.
  6. I've seen pictures of the '71 Challenger IPC w/ the twin scoop hood and the flat hood. Must be a before/after change.
  7. Cool..I'd love to drive a Ariel Atom.
  8. Got mine yesterday...looks good at first glance, esp. the Salt Flats themed kits article.
  9. Harts Parts makes resin conversion parts incl.a flat hood to convert the AMT '70 convertible to a '71. Time Machine Resins makes a resin '71 body etc.
  10. Neat..that 'Bad Dream' '56 was my very first glue kit...built it in 1978 at age 8.
  11. Assuming you mean the Chrysler K-cars that Motormax made (Aries and Reliant), I've seen them on eBay (2 of the Aries on there now). There probably are some online vendors that sell them also.
  12. The Ford cab w/ GM parts makes no sense...I guess it was someone w/ too much time, drugs, and random truck parts on their hands...
  13. Sharp build..love the color and interior.
  14. Doesn't look anything like the movie car...the movie car was a worn out, dented base Nova.
  15. Bummer if they are done. I like Danbury, have a couple dozen of their diecasts..I esp. like their '50s subjects.
  16. I keep to build...over the last 15 years I've bought a few hundred '58-80 vintage kits, most are restorable builtups, though about 100 are mint in the box unbuilt that I paid anywhere from $50-200 for. I do have a soft spot for AMT, MPC, and Johan '60s-70s annuals, esp. the full sizers.
  17. I've looked at Hillsboro and Beaverton...I have friends in Beaverton....I could get used to the rain, it would be a nice change from AZ, and I'm originally from the gloomy Midwest so I don't mind gray and I miss greenery. Seattle and the San Francisco Bay Area have stronger markets than Portland for my thing (software engineering) though, and are higher on my list as far as the West Coast goes, but there is a techy/outdoorsy vibe about Portland I like quite a bit...and all the craft beer. And Powell's Books.
  18. Happy New Years to all...heading out to the westside for a party (Peoria, AZ, 35 miles away)..should be fun. Looking forward to 2013, 2012 has been very good to me.
  19. Those are interior trim decals.
  20. Good luck...I was in the ABD situation myself 15 years ago when I decided to abandon the academic life for the corporate life and move from Michigan to Colorado. I like Portland, been there a few times, it's on my radar along w/ Seattle for my next move, along w/ several other cities. I love the greenery, mountains, ocean, wide range of restaurants, etc.
  21. No interest in the videos..I prefer high quality detail photos.
  22. I'd love to see one of those kitted, but in 1/24th.
  23. Nice...like the pic of the 3 years together.
  24. It's very nice...as is the Missing Link '71 Galaxie 4dr and '75/76 Fury. Other available resin kits that would make good '70s police builds are the Modelhaus '70 Coronet, '72 Ford Custom, and '75 Impala...all 4drs I have all of these, but plan to build them as stock sedans.
