I would assume it's just a straight reissue, so it's a minimal investment..

The recent Revell '72 Cutlass Supreme convertible (the 2nd issue, street machine version)

Yes, definitely looking forward to getting a couple of them..the one I have is a gluebomb. Maybe they will release it in a neat retro '69 style box like the recent Hurst/Olds reissue.

Batmobile # 1 Sold At Barrett - Jackson !

There is/was one in Florida...a friend of mine from Belgium has ridden in it. -
I have the Countdown Series '69 Chevelle convertible, basically the same parts as the Countdown Series '69 Chevelle ht (that issue had optional custom front and rear and no stock intake/carb/air cleaner parts, IIRC). Differences being a convertible body and boot. Oddly, that was the only issue of the '69 Chevelle conv AFAIK...I assume it was based on a promo body?

Interesting...I don't get the weird camber either...makes it look like the car has broken axles.

It's hard to compare values of rare vintage cars like the Bugatti Atlantic with made-for-tv Barris cheese like the Batmobile. -

Spent several hours this afternoon at the annual B-J event...was a sunny 75 degree day in dusty Scottsdale. Indoors, the new car displays from Ford, Chrysler, and GM were impressive--- lots of new Mustangs in a variety of trim levels--GTs, Shelbys, Boss 302s, and aftermarket tuners versions... Loved the various SRT Mopies (Challenger, Charger, 300, JGC)...saw the new Viper for the first time, very impressed. At the GM stand, the new Silverado looked quite good in longbed crew cab form in a taupe color. The Hot Wheels Camaro SS was fun. I enjoyed checking out the automotive art inside, esp. the vintage racing paintings. The auction this year still had a vast array of '60s-70s muscle cars (loads of Mopies, Chevys, GTOs, etc) as in recent years and plenty of '50-60s full size cars, but there was also a nice group of classics--'30s Duesenbergs, Packards, Issotta-Fraschinis, Rolls Royces, etc. Some '50s concept cars--the Chrysler Diablo and Packard Mitchell as well as the Hudson Italia were standouts. Loads of '60s Shelbys, incl. the '68 'Green Hornet' coupe prototype/testbed, several '69-70 Boss 302s and 429s, Saw the '66 Batmobile briefly, it was so crowded around it I couldn't get too close. Good times...been popping the Aleves tonight though, I'm too out of shape for so much walking...knees, ankles, shoulders aching. As far as celebs, I saw Bob Varsha. -

I've been watching some on TV and reading about the various sales online. Heading over to B-J for a few hours this afternoon. Definitely lots of project ideas. -

I occasionally get insomnia that overrides my sleeping pills...I grab my Kindle and read a book, or my Kindle Fire and surf the web.. I usually get up at 5:30-6 weekdays as I like to get to work before 8. Sometimes I wake up close to 5 I'll just get up and go to Starbucks for a while... -
I assume it would be a retool from the '75 Dart Sport kit that's been reissued a couple times.. the Demon and the '60 Ranchero (if they tool up stock parts) are the most interesting to me on the AMT list, though the race car hauler and Chevelle convertible sound great also. I have a gluebomb of the ''Countdown Series' Chevelle convertible, surprised that one hasn't been reissued yet.

I have the 1:24th TR-3 and RR, and one big scale Minicraft in my stash--a 1:16th scale '50s Mercedes 300SL gullwing coupe...looks pretty nice, haven't built it though. Does that kit originate w/ Gakken also? I'm not much into 1:16th but 300SLs always caught my attention over the years...
-
Very sharp build...I love those MPC Cyclones.

Interesting..what is the source for this list? A few of these were in the iHobby announcement a few months ago like the Chevy rescue van. Some very interesting items on that list like the '69 Chevelle conv and Demon...

I like the retro box art on the '67 Shelby...the Opel GT looks like a nice reissue.

I like the Fujimi kit..haven't had a chance yet to compare the RoG one w/ it. -
School bus question
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've read it's because of the padding on the seats. And the logistical headache of getting all the kids to buckle up. -
School bus question
Rob Hall replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't know if they have them now, but the buses I remember riding as a kid in E. Ohio and S. Florida back in the day didn't have A/C....sticky vinyl seats, hot and humid days, windows open... -
Revell Germany 1/24 Ferrari 250GTO for 2013
Rob Hall replied to larrygre's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I have the Fujimi one (molded in blue), thought I'd check out the RoG one...I picked up one off eBay..got it today, the instructions say copyright 2007. Opening doors and decklid, very thin A-pillars. Is this the ex-Protar tooling (no mention on the instructions or box that I can see). Wasn't there a Monogram issue 250 GTO back in the 70s? Was it the Protar one also? And I assume the Testors one from the '80s was the Italeri tool (I have other Testors Italeri Ferrari reboxes, so I assume this one was also). Never had the Italeri 250 GTO. R -
It did....Feb '13 issue of SA w/ the blue '66 Mustang on the cover...I got it in the mail several days before the Dec issue of MCM which came Jan 8th. Yes! Been a great season.

It was interesting that the Feb issue of SA arrived about a week before the Dec issue of MCM..
