Parts for Barracuda Savage GT?
Rob Hall replied to dimebolt's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Interesting..never heard of the Savage. Those wheels look like the ones in the '80s issue (molded in orange) of the MPC '68/69 Cuda. The Countdown Series issue of the AMT '66 Mustang had wheels like that also. -

That's how I enjoy it...strolling around checking out the vast # of cars, buy a few things in the merch tent, watch a bit of the auction...it's just a nice car-themed weekend for me...last couple of times I've spent 5-7 hours there..then hit the Pavillion car show for an hour or two, then off to downtown Scottsdale for a nice dinner..what's not to like? -

I've thought about going Thursday or Friday evening, but it's a bit too compressed time wise...Saturday works for me and I like seeing the cars in the daylight. -
I've ordered from them a few times over the past year. Good stuff, always get it in about a month or less.

I usually go on Saturdays...though I may do this years' on Friday. I first went in 2002 then next in 2008, when I was still living in Denver..quite a change in the car selection between '02 and '08. Gone every year since '08, and have done Russo & Steele a couple times in there and Gooding & Company. -

I enjoy strolling around looking at the cars and checking out the merch inside...I'll probably go again this year, to Russo & Steele, and maybe the Gooding & Company auction again also. And the cruise in at the Scottsdale Pavillions is always good that weekend. Auction Week is one of the things I enjoy about living in the Valley of the Sun. -
Oldsmobile Toronado question

I've never had any of the MPC ones...I have the Johan ones '66-71 (the '67 I have is the AMT issue), don't have the '72 yet.. -
2012 Dodge Charger's?
Rob Hall replied to robiwon's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Welly makes a diecast normal one also...I don't know if Motormax makes a normal one or not, I've only seen the police versions from them. -
I want one of those Minis... I got the RoG 599 GTO and SV Aperta earlier this week along w/ the AMT '70 Galaxie reissue...my Revell '57 Ford has shipped, hope to have it by tomorrow. Had my annual review at work yesterday, getting a nice raise, happy about that.

Resin 1957-58 Chrysler 300 convertible body
Rob Hall replied to gtx6970's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Time Machine Resin did, but I don't know if they are taking orders anymore. -
Yeah..original vintage issue, vintage reissue, modern reissue... It's really all a moot point, I suppose.
-
Given the reissue nature of the the model hobby, I think it's hard (or futile) to try and pick a specific year or dividing line between what's a vintage kit and what's a modern kit. Within a given year, model companies have a variety of straight reissue, modified reissue, and new tool kits available. There are some significant years, though, like 1988 when MPC's last annuals were made (they continued in 1989 as AMT reboxes)...and also in the mid '80s when Revell and Monogram became Revell-Monogram. Or 1978 when AMT's last annuals came out (though they sporadically have had some later). Or 1979 when the last new tooling came from Jo-Han.
-
'vintage' doesn't necessarily mean 'old', simply something of a particular year or time period... with cars, to me 'late model' implies something from the last 10 years or so (current or previous generation or two).

models at pep boys!?
Rob Hall replied to blueoval92's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Haven't seen any models, but my local O'Reillys has a nice little selection of Hot Wheels...I usually pick up a couple when I go in there... -
At work till 5 then happy hour and sushi w/ some coworkers, then home to feed the dogs then probably watch a movie....
-
Looks good...RHD and LHD drive options, it looks like?
-
Sounds like a '71... the Modelhaus has the '71 Javelin rear bumper and taillights available.

Used to be a bunch of Riders Hobby Shops in Michigan, apparently. When I lived in Ann Arbor in the mid '90s I went to the Riders downtown and the one in Ypsilanti pretty often.
