  1. I've heard this argument before, but I've never heard of anyone replacing a battery pack on a hybrid car. I know people that have 10 yr old Priuses that still have their original battery. And that is the unusual case, since most people that have them I know trade after 4-5 years on a new one. (I know a lot of Prius owners--Priuses and Toyotas in general are popular w/ software engineers, not unlike how Apple products are).
  2. Hopefully the aftermarket will do FHP decals....that's the ones I remember from back in the day growing up in S. Florida...
  3. Revell did '69 and '70 Mustang coupes..over 40 years ago. No '67/68s...
  4. Cool..I've been going to the one on I-17 in Phoenix off and on for years..
  5. Haven't gotten off at them, though. Usually I can make it to the state line before making a fuel or bio break..
  6. Well, it does help spread the costs, but I've read the ELR has been under development since before the Volt launched. Similar idea that Toyota had w/ the HS (and now the CT) using Prius technology.
  7. I've seen more Nissan Leafs (Leaves?) on the road than I've seen Volts.
  8. I'll look at it...but since it's FWD I wouldn't consider buying one. I like my STS, probably will be looking at a CTS (maybe the coupe) for my next Caddy.
  9. The ELR isn't going to be badge engineered from the Volt. It will have the same dirty bits underneath, but it's own unique 2dr fastback body and unique interior. More a case of platform sharing, like how the '14 Impala uses the same Epsion II platform as the Caddy XTS and Buick LaCrosse... Probably better to stick w/ articles from automotive websites like Autoblog, Jalopnik, Autoweek, etc. I wouldn't believe much from articles from Faux News..
  10. As with any technology, over time it's going to get more powerful, easier to use, and cheaper. Going to be interesting to see where 3D Printing is 5 years from now...
  11. Look more like 14 or 15 inch, which makes sense for late '50s-early 60s style they appear to be...(19 inch whitewalls???)
  12. Hmmm....Buckeye...don't think I've ever been to Buckeye...about the only time I go to the Westside is when I go to the racetrack (Avondale?) or am driving across the void to LA/OC on I-10...
  13. I thought '74 was the first year Gremlin that AMT did, but a search on eBay turned up a '72 funny car..didn't know about that one. Bandit Resins makes a '71 or '72 in resin, the build up of it in a recent SA looked pretty good.
  14. Not familiar w/ the 'Brock Buster' kit...is that basically the same as the Datsun 510 that was reissued a few years ago?
  15. Scale Equipment Ltd makes nice Cragar SS wheels and they are chromed.
  16. I haven't noticed if any of the East Valley PDs have the '11+ Chargers. I've seen the MCSO ones around.
  17. Nice build... speaking of 2011+ police Chargers, I was in San Francisco last week for a tech conference and saw a couple of SFPD '11+ Chargers...look really slick at night w/ the full width taillights...
  18. If they had the show in the West (maybe alternate the location every other year) somewhere like Vegas or LA I'd consider going...
  19. McD's stuff is pretty good, but I like Starbucks more... I like Einstein's Bagels coffee also, I go there for a coffee and a bagel once or twice a week --I was in San Francisco last week for a conference and found that a large coffee and a bagel at the same chain was actually $1 cheaper than in Phoenix...wierd... Anyhoo, back on topic--nice Olds race car build!
  20. Two of the three Starbucks near home has a drive thru, though...very convenient. I get coffee from McDonalds also occasionally, or brew it at home (have a regular coffee maker, a Keurig single cup machine, and an espresso machine). I've been a Starbucks fan since the mid 90s.
  21. Ya, my venti Pumpkin Spice Latte today was about $4.65..
  22. Looks like it...that pic appears to be in Europe, so maybe it was a Euro-spec model.
  23. It was pretty cool being able to see the curvature of the Earth from some of the footage from the capsule (and the darkness of space beyond). Though that will probably freak out the Flat Earth Society crowd.
  24. Yeah, weather this past weekend was great...I went most of the weekend w/o the A/C on...
  25. Unfortunate when unexpected expenses come up like that. My Jeep needed $2k in repairs last month, and one of my dogs is getting $2k in knee surgery next week. But the electric bill was $290 less than usual last month because the weather is slowly getting cooler...
