  1. Modelhaus makes a Country Squire wagon kit also, with the XL/LTD style hidden headlight grille. Those parts originated in the original AMT '70 LTD 4dr ht, which was never reissued, because that kit's tooling was revised to make the Galaxie kit.
  2. Citation was FWD.
  3. Yep..I've driven a couple Cavalier rentals years ago..nasty little car....had a Cobalt rental once, marginally better.. I try and void anything smaller than a midsize when I rent on biz trips or vacations.
  4. Scale Equipment Ltd (which is based in Florida, IIRC) used to offer a '73 Hurst Olds resin kit...but that was probably 10 years ago.
  5. Sad story...it was the USA Oldies series that got me into the brand as a kid in the late 70s-early 80s. Have bought quite a few Johans since then, esp. liking the Mopars, Cadillacs and Oldses...have a few of the AMCs, need more.
  6. I've heard alot Similiarly, I've heard a lot of horror stories of the seller side of things from my sister who has been a fairly active eBay seller of Barbie and other similar dolls and accessories for a number of years.....and I've had the joy of hauling 50-100 USPS Priority Mail boxes to the Post Office or UPS Store to drop off for her before...
  7. Those Premier kits are rather abstract..don't think I've ever seen one in person.
  8. Those would all be great..alas, it seems the current focus for racing kits (at least at Mobieus and Revell) are 60+ yr old stock cars..
  9. I bought a lot of old diecast and occasionally models and promos at flea markets back in the '90s, I thought those died out long ago...eBay is the world's largest flea market in some ways..
  10. He had the '59 Dodge, I bought one from him w/ a resin interior. Don't know if they were left over X-El promos or newly produced, though. He had a '56 Plymouth also IIRC, but I never got one of those.
  11. I love those greens...so 'of the era'.. I learned to drive in a '79 Dodge Power Wagon 4x4 pickup in a silver green w/ matching green interior.. but oddly, I don't care for the obnoxious bright green Mopar used in '70-71 (Sub Lime?)
  12. Those are so cool..I plan to build a Superbird from the MPC '71 and a Daytona using the AMT '71 Charger.
  13. Very cool..this gives me ideas of what to do w/ my unbuilt '77 or '79 kits.
  14. Sweet..love those '70s IMSA race cars..
  15. Neat phantom...speaking of Challenger wagons, there are pics that have been floating around the interwebs for years of a purple 1:1 custom that part of an Olds Vista Cruiser roof, looks pretty cool IMO..
  16. They probably took a vow of omerta and took their Johan secrets to the grave.
  17. I was behind a very clean pale yellow '68-72 Ranger XLT shortbed fleetside this morning..had the woodgrain trim on the tailgate. It had side marker lights, but I didn't see the front end so I'm not sure what year it was.
  18. Wow..never seen that color before. Neat. One color I liked back the day that seemed pretty rare was a dark green that was available on the '85 or '86 LXes.
  19. The old AMT kit (from around '88-90) was backdated from the MPC '81 tooling, IIRC. It had a rather innacurate nose. The new-tool AMT kit from the late '90s is quite nice, has been released in Z-28 and Baldwin Motion 454 versions, reissued a few times. I like the more recent AMT kit....I also like the original early '70s issue AMT and MPC 2nd gen Camaro kits, but those are fairly rare these days.
  20. Neat..don't think I've ever seen that kit. I did build the Revell '82 Firebird S/E kit as a kid, was molded in a dark brick red. Probably a similar kit to this. I like the MPC (later AMT) '82-92 kits, and also have the AMT '82 that was reissued in the last decade.
  21. Hmm...the Lightning has just been reissued..the Expedition is being reissued next year. Seems like a fun kitbash.
  22. It's enthusiasts (performance and luxury) that prefer RWD....maybe 2-5% of consumers. The general public has no comprehension or interest in the mechanical aspects or driving characteristics of cars...hence the huge number of FWD 4cyl automatic sedans and CUVs sold. There are a few interesting FWD models out there like the GTI and Focus ST, but most are just appliances, IMO. As far as hybrids and electric cars go, they are efficient appliances and the high-tech nature appeals to some consumers, and they definitely want them to look distinctive, because otherwise, people would think you had a regular car.
  23. Very cool build. A question about this style cab, what are the doors on each side of the front body above the headlights for?
  24. Nice to see it's molded in white this time. I'm thinking one of these would look good w/ a set of 19 inch Pegasus IROKs...
