  1. Neat how the box has the red background at the top...
  2. Meh...pretty gross..waste of a vintage 'vette.
  3. Assuming this release follows the standard Revell pattern, end of this month for Preferred Partner shops, early next month everywhere else...unless there is a delay.
  4. Looks like the 1:1 (and the box art) has a different grille...non-R/T grille maybe? The wheels look pretty good in the built kit photo. I've wanted to customize one of these.. think it would look good w/ the grille from the '67 Charger w/ the hidden headlights.
  5. Software engineer. I'm currently a consultant for a small consulting firm developing websites and applications for several corporate clients locally and out-of-state.....been a developer professionally for 15 years. Had a few odd jobs in college and grad school--was a clerk in a college bookstore, computer lab assistant, sys admin (doing tape backups, rebuilding Unix servers at night), taught College Algebra, Calculus and Intro to Computer Programming classes.
  6. Ugh...I was over in So Cal a couple weekends ago and was surprised it was warmer there (Fontana) than in Phoenix.
  7. Snow sounds great...
  8. No, it was someone else. You have a link? I need one w/ an automatic.
  9. There was a thread on here in the last couple of weeks about a resin caster offering a Ford 429/460 engine, but the thread is disappeared and can't be found w/ the search. Anyone remember who it was or have a link? I should have bookmarked the link...it was a caster I was unfamiliar with, an unusual name starting w/ an 'A' or 'G' IIRC.
  10. As a buyer, it's hard to beat eBay for the selection...and the ease of paying by PayPal w/ a few clicks. I've also been checking out scoomer.com lately, seems like a nice site w/ a strong diecast focus.
  11. That's where I got mine Monday...I had 'em hold me one back. Got mine for $16.95 because my punch card was full..
  12. He'd probably have 10 paragraphs somehow linking Foose to the history of auto production in Indiana...
  13. Hmm...wouldn't you want to put cool air in your tires in the summer and warm air in your tires in the winter?
  14. I've found current normal pricing through US online vendors for current (Revell, AMT, Moiebus) kits is around $18-22 USD or so, and local hobby shops here in the Phoenix area tend to be $22-27 USD or so. I don't shop at Hobby Lobby so I can't comment on their pricing.
  15. Sharp build...love the color combo.
  16. All the same size.. Good point..his sketches are always exaggerated... And most of the commentary in this thread isn't 'whining', it's criticism. There is a difference.
  17. I've got some parts gathered for my spin on this car...large diameter versions of the '70s Trans Am snowflake wheels, '70s GM sport mirrors, '70s Trans Am shaker hood scoop....now to find the time and inspiration to build it...
  18. I haven't tried, but you would have to cut the ridge off probably...
  19. They are very narrow...not wide enough for a Pro-Touring style car like this.
  20. These are the wheels & tires. The stock and drag wheels and tires from the regular kit are gone. The parts trees look the same as the regular kit at first glance otherwise..
  21. Nope..this is not a 2n1 kit. The stock and drag wheel & tire choices of the regular kit are gone. Many of the drag parts (hood w/ hole, blower) remain on the trees, though.
  22. It's a pretty cynical approach Revell has taken, assuming most model builders won't notice or care how off it is from the real subject...
  23. In marketing speak, it was something like 'brand synergy' for Revell to link up w/ Foose.. At least the kits are semi-representative of a real car, unlike other kits that have been tied to a TV series but never appeared in the series..
