  1. I'm surprised R&M of Md haven't done one yet..they've done a bunch of '32 Ford bodies.
  2. Rare dual fuel tank option
  3. I picked up a Destroyer at a flea market years ago and kitbashed it with a Monogram Bronco to build a 4x4. Never finished it....I like the '70s AMT Ford trucks, too bad they only made them with the wierd Camper Special wheelbase.
  4. Anyone tried adapting the engine, engine compartment and chassis from the Revell '68 Hemi Dart to one of the MPC/AMT Cudas? I've toyed w/ the idea but haven't fished any Cudas out of storage to do some test fitting....
  5. Compared to the dreadful Mustang II, the '79 definitely was a huge step forward design-wise. For the notchbacks, I always thought the '85-86 was the best looking...I didn't like the bland headlights and taillights of the '87-93 LXes. I had an '86 LX notchback in college, but it was just a 4cyl. I still enjoy my '87 GT, but it definitely looks dated now... a memento of the big 80s, of when I had hair.. I never got into the SN95 generation, but I do like the '05-09 and '10+ generations... I think I want one of the new 5.0s for my next fun car..maybe the Boss 302 version.
  6. Are there really any kids building models today? Seems like it's mostly the 50+ crowd.
  7. 77 killed, 543 injured in that one.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sknyliv_airshow_disaster
  8. CNN is reporting 9 fatalities now
  9. Interesting..first I've heard of convertible promos...this is the new Camaro? By Revell?
  10. I try and avoid O'Hare or Midway unless I'm going to Chicago..I used to connect through both of them often...nearly missed flights when it was super busy around Thanksgiving and Xmas...I try and avoid any flight within the US the involves a connection, try and go direct only...
  11. I was living in Colorado Springs at the time, was between gigs and had some downtime at home. Got up in the morning, turned on the TV to CNN, stayed glued to the TV for hours..
  12. It is kind of scary, but that's all there is as far as a stock '48 coupe body. Perry's Resin lists one, but I've heard they are impossible to order from in recent years.
  13. I love Chicago..have lots of friends there and briefly lived there (one summer between college semesters spent in Lincoln Park). Driving there can be fun, drove my Mustang all over there in the mid '90s...constant shifting. Had fun one winter weekend in '99 there in a rental Crown Vic. The worst big cities for driving I've been in IMO are Boston and San Francisco.
  14. I'm looking forward to seeing if that happens...I've had my AAM one for 13 years, still haven't built it.
  15. So true...getting through the TSA lines is easy if you know what you are doing...the slow and clueless casual travelers drive me crazy.
  16. Cool...love the movie, may have to get one. Wish I had the diecast ones (ERTL?) from back in the day. I'd love to see the Fifth Element cab kitted.
  17. I'm sure it will sell well and make the custom guys happy. I have no interest in a chop top, a stock '48 Ford coupe would interest me...I guess I should build my Testor's one w/ the multi-piece body.
  18. That would be rough to have a fear of flying...if I didn't fly, I wouldn't have been able to go to the interesting places I've gone over the last decade...Hawaii, Italy, the UK, France, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, LA, Indy for the Indy 500, etc.. Or the biannual trips back to E. Ohio to see family. I love travel, and flying is part of the trip..
  19. Compleat Games and Hobbies, IIRC. I went there pretty much every week when I lived in the Springs '97-02.
  20. Colpar Hobbies, Aurora, Co. Definitely worth a visit.
  21. I'm assuming it will be either out in Oct-Dec of this year or next year...
  22. Just got their new catalog in the mail yesterday...lots of goodies. It's been a few years since I've ordered from Norm, but I see a bunch of stuff I want..
  23. Sharp build...love the sports car racers of that era.
  24. Actually, it's the 'English' language..there is no 'American' language.
