  1. I think this is the simplified snap kit version of the turbine car, not the full detail. The full detail one I built in the '80s had some very thin pieces and lots of flash..
  2. I just noticed the Revell Chevy van is listed as 1:24th...was this originally a Monogram kit? I remember the version from the '90s w/ the race car trailer, but not before that..
  3. Apparently, he's a mural painter...looks like a neat issue of the van, has a choice of '70s style mural decals for the sides.
  4. What's wrong w/ the AMT '51 Chevy kit hood? The clear tree has what looks like the hardtop window piece...hmmm....maybe they are saving the hardtop and uptop for the 2nd issue?
  5. Definitely going to want a Cutlass or two. I built one of the snap kit versions about 25 years ago...
  6. Wonder whatever happened to the 'Lawman' '64 Belvedere variation that Lindberg announced last year...a no go I guess.
  7. Though these are billed as '1st half 2012 releases', I'm sure we will be sitting here 1 year from today waiting on some of them..... tick tick tick
  8. So for 2012, they will announce...? It's after 3pm in Chicago now...
  9. Looking forward to seeing the AMT van again also..I built one version of it as a kid in the '70s (called 'KandyVan' IIRC) and the reissue of the A-Team version. Short bed fleetside. Looks like the snow plow parts are new.
  10. Lotsa reissues, but a few that I can use seconds of, like the Caddy lowrider and GMC pickup. I've never had the Revell Chevy van--how does it compare to the AMT of the same era? The Corvettes look interesting, as does the '50 Olds and '57 Ford.
  11. I went to a nice little car event at Laguna Seca Raceway in California this past weekend. Saw a lot of interesting Porsches. Some incredible historically significant race cars there. More pics here: http://public.fotki.com/robertwadehall/rennsport-reunion-iv/
  12. Love the 3rd pic, the flying Westie.... love my Westies, but my boy Dooder is 14 and in failing health..
  13. So is/was Bill Gates, Sir Issac Newton, Alfred Hitchcock, Jane Austen, Charles Darwin, Thomas Jefferson, Henry Ford, Michael Palin..
  14. Hmm..there was a South Park episode recently about that condition..
  15. Hmmm...grails. About 15 years ago, I started a grail list of AMT, MPC, and Johan annuals from '58 to about '80. I've found many that are on my list that were semi-hard to find ('67 Galaxie ht & conv, '66 Buick Gran Sport, '59-70 Bonnevilles, '59-72 Impalas and '73-76 Caprices, late 60s-early '70s MPC Mopars, etc). But I still have many on my to-find list--early '60s AMT Mopars (Imperials, Valiants, etc), various '60s compacts (Chevy IIs, Corvairs, Falcons), early '70s MPC Firebirds and Camaros to name a few. Also still looking for some Italeri Ferraris that I missed out on 20 years ago..
  16. Sharp..nice and familiar looking. Too bad the current style Impala isn't available in 1:24/5th...I see a lot of those in Phoenix police livery. I've seen a couple of Magnums in Scottsdale Police livery.
  17. I remember those.. the Ramblers always seemed to have crushed roofs due to being too tightly packaged.
  18. I do wonder what the age range breakdown of active modelers are...when I go to shows or swap meets, the majority of the crowd seems to be 50+.
  19. It's too bad they didn't at least change the wheels and tires...
  20. Another one I like is Archer, kind of spoof of spy movies.
  21. Sharp build. That was a great era in racing.
  22. I think the Monogram '64 is going to be or has been recently reissued recently molded in white.
  23. Sweet Mopie.
  24. On one of the other forums someone posted a pic of the box this resin kit comes in, apparently, it's a Husdon Hollywood instead of a Hudson Hollywood.
