  1. It is kind of scary, but that's all there is as far as a stock '48 coupe body. Perry's Resin lists one, but I've heard they are impossible to order from in recent years.
  2. I love Chicago..have lots of friends there and briefly lived there (one summer between college semesters spent in Lincoln Park). Driving there can be fun, drove my Mustang all over there in the mid '90s...constant shifting. Had fun one winter weekend in '99 there in a rental Crown Vic. The worst big cities for driving I've been in IMO are Boston and San Francisco.
  3. I'm looking forward to seeing if that happens...I've had my AAM one for 13 years, still haven't built it.
  4. So true...getting through the TSA lines is easy if you know what you are doing...the slow and clueless casual travelers drive me crazy.
  5. Cool...love the movie, may have to get one. Wish I had the diecast ones (ERTL?) from back in the day. I'd love to see the Fifth Element cab kitted.
  6. I'm sure it will sell well and make the custom guys happy. I have no interest in a chop top, a stock '48 Ford coupe would interest me...I guess I should build my Testor's one w/ the multi-piece body.
  7. That would be rough to have a fear of flying...if I didn't fly, I wouldn't have been able to go to the interesting places I've gone over the last decade...Hawaii, Italy, the UK, France, New York, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, San Diego, LA, Indy for the Indy 500, etc.. Or the biannual trips back to E. Ohio to see family. I love travel, and flying is part of the trip..
  8. Compleat Games and Hobbies, IIRC. I went there pretty much every week when I lived in the Springs '97-02.
  9. Colpar Hobbies, Aurora, Co. Definitely worth a visit.
  10. I'm assuming it will be either out in Oct-Dec of this year or next year...
  11. Just got their new catalog in the mail yesterday...lots of goodies. It's been a few years since I've ordered from Norm, but I see a bunch of stuff I want..
  12. Sharp build...love the sports car racers of that era.
  13. Actually, it's the 'English' language..there is no 'American' language.
  14. Yes, and I pay everything electronically...maybe write 1 check every 2 months or so...when I take notes at work on a notepad it's often illegible, so I usually take my laptop to all my meetings...
  15. I see the point in de-emphasizing cursive writing... I really haven't written anything more than my signature 'long hand' in probably 20+ years...used computers throughout college and grad school back in the day.
  16. I can understand that...I don't 'hate' the design, but humpy '50s cars just don't appeal to me...way before my time...still wouldn't mind building one.
  17. Bingo...I don't care for small cars, and especially dislike 4cyls and FWD. I've been very happy w/ my Jeep Grand Cherokee...it's not very big as far as SUVs go, but very capable off road (I've done a bunch of that) and excellent on-road. I try and stick w/ the domestics (though I've had a BMW and a Mercedes in the past). I like the Charger R/T and 300C quite a bit.. When I was shopping for my new daily driver, I wanted quiet, smooth, comfortable and loaded. Almost got a 300C but went for a Cadillac instead. Very happy w/ my choice. My friends and colleagues drive Priuses and other FWD appliances, they are happy w/ them..but I like a hefty, solid American car. Choice is good. Kept my Jeep for winter use (will need when I leave AZ). In a few years, I do want another fun weekend car (still have my '87 Mustang GT), I may go for the new Mustang Boss 302..though the Camaro and Challenger are pretty appealing also.
  18. Maybe it will be something like this, with a supercharged 312
  19. I like the current Charger R/T...test drove one a few weeks ago along w/ the Chrysler 300C when I was car shopping. I've also driven the Mustang GT, Camaro SS, and Challenger R/T...find all of them interesting...what I'd really like to try is the Mustang Boss 302. I've had 3 Mustangs over the years, and may get another one for my next fun car in a year or two..
  20. Looks very well packaged....that instruction sheet looks great.
  21. I haven't built it yet...just opened it and looked at the parts. I believe it's a reissue of a kit from the '80s or '90s..
  22. Very nice kit...I got it and the SLS AMG kit for my birthday a couple months ago.
  23. I doubt if they would use any parts from the old Ranchero kit...I would assume this is an all-new tool.
  24. LISP definitely has an 'S'...and lots of parentheses....took a course in LISP in college... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisp_(programming_language)
