  1. Great job splicing in some parts box and aftermarket pieces to truly make this your own. The blue is a great color, and the red interior compliments it nicely.
  2. I'm with you Scott. This is one of my favorite pieces of box art of all time. I have several of the "rat rod" issue of this kit, but if Revell saw fit to offer this kit again with this artwork, i would buy one. Great parts kit
  3. The HUD is cool. But, here's another option. How about a couple pods or a cluster mounted on an arm that swings out of the way. Possibly mounted on top of one of the wheel tubs?
  4. Any updates on this. The 72 grille is one of the better looking from this gen of Dodge pickups in my opinion. And I'd love to build a short bed!
  5. Nice color. Curious, what parts does the Mercury conversion include?
  6. This came out very nice Dennis. With all the work you did to the body and making up a new interior it's too bad it couldn't have made it's way into some enterprising resin casters mold rubber. You definitely have something unique on your shelf now, and the work you did to improve the base resin kit is excellent.
  7. This is an interesting style, and one I've been thinking about dabbling in myself. In the mid-to late 60's when hot rod trends were getting heavily influenced by the muscle car movement. I'll be following along with what you've got planned, it sounds pretty cool. The chop looks just right, and i agree that the bed could be just a tad shorter. Perhaps a MM or two beyond the end of the frame horns might be the ticket?
  8. While Drag City Casting's body is very nice indeed, it is a 30 coupe. See pics below, of special note is the cowl Drag City Casting's 30... 28/29 Coupe...
  9. Ahh, thanks for the clarification
  10. My apologies if it has been discussed here before, but how is the LUV being run in the USA? Did they bring the tooling here? The general understanding was that any R/M tooling that was in the US at the time of the Hobbico bankruptcy was bought by Atlantis. Is that incorrect?
  11. You may be confusing two different kits. The Monogram Model A coupes have been around since the early 60's. First few issues had hot rod parts, later issues have been stock only. The Revell kit from a couple a few years ago was all new tooling and shared many parts with the also all-new 29 A roadster. Both are hot rod only, and no fenders included.
  12. Cleanly built project with eye catching results. Especially the finishes. Well done
  13. It echo the similar comments, this is probably the nicest build of this kit I've ever seen. It's really cool when someone can take one of these kits that has a rough reputation and really make it shine. Kudos to you.
  14. I have missed this thing up until today. It is SICK! In a good way. I still marvel at the stuff you scratchbuild, and the way you've pioneered integrating the scrapbooking cutter into our hobby. It appears to be a very useful tool. The asymmetrical aspects of the design fully integrate into what you've got going on thematically, I'm following now, like I do with everything you build.
  15. So, looks like they're working their way thought the ones that were reissued by RetroHobby, with only one left from that group. Now what about the Cobra and Black max? Hopefully they follow through with all 6, especially the Black Max
  16. Excellent. Hopefully I won't be asleep at the wheel this time too.
  17. Ha, so we're going to try this "Revell 2020" thread one more time? I'm glad you started a new one after the first two (or three?) got locked because of people fighting. Hopefully this one can stay open for the flow of new info and level headed discussion.
  18. Yup, I snoozed. And I know better. Just snoozed too long
  19. Is this discontinued? The recent auction on eBay said it was the last one. I'm going to be mad at myself if I waited too long and missed this
  20. Man, that is one classy looking street rod. The subtle color combo and 4 doors really kind of make it a sleeper on first glance. The stance and wires are great. Well done
  21. IMHO, the use of the terms has shifted over the years. Both terms originated at the same time. They were originally used to differentiate between two different types of modified vehicles, but as their definitions got blurred they became interchangeable (for better or worse) But as time marched on "hot rod" got left behind referencing cars built with pre-1960's components, and "street rod" kept advancing in use to mean a car produced before 1948 with modern (for the time it is being applied as a label)) components used. The thing is that none of these "rules" are hard and fast and there are many exceptions to each "rule" which is what causes the confusion. Just to throw another term into the confusion, the term "Rat Rod" is now (incorrectly) used by lots of people in reference to any old car especially pre 1948 body styles, even if they're actually not true Rat Rods. Ain't American lingo great? ?
  22. I think the issue is storing them "cap up". This is probably allowing the ink to dry out faster than the "cap down" method. But you should be able to restore the tip by soaking it in alcohol.
  23. Man, sold out. Thanks for offering these Randy. I hope this isn't a one-shot deal and you'll offer more in the future
  24. Thanks for the heads up on the Helller Hotel Taxi re-issue. I secured one of the first issue with the intent to do what you described, but have been avoiding cutting it up because it was rare. Knowing I could get another would make it easier to cut up the one I have
