1940 Ford Wagon with scratch trailer - MADE IN BRAZIL
Mr. Metallic replied to uelder valongo's topic in Model Cars
Nice conversion work. Clean detailing. Someone needs to build a 1:1 -
Thanks Kerry. Like you, my interests are all over the place, but all I ever seem to finish are rods and customs. I have 3 1st gen broncos, two jeepsters, and a few other old school SUV builds on the list. Just not enough time in the day
-
Thank you. It got back-burnered when I had other time commitments recently come up. But I have bought the AMT parts pack dirtbike set to tow behind it. Some day

Thanks for letting me know. I've been dabbling with this one lately, a restoration/kitbash of the Swamp Buggy version. Thought it would be cool to have a top for it, but If I don't it's no big deal.

Thanks Alan and Rob. I guess i should ask before I go on the hunt, will this top fit the CJ-2 body depicted in the Hogans Hero/Korean War kit? I would assume so, but you know what happens when you assume...

Stock Model A frames ??
Mr. Metallic replied to Jon Haigwood's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
This is a very intriguing project, and based on your recent examples of your 3d work, I'd be very interested if you made these commercially available. Especially if it integrates well with the body/fender parts from Revell. -
Need info on '32 Deuce Coupe
Mr. Metallic replied to john66's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Shhh... I'm currently gathering parts for just such a thing as a surprise build for a friend of mine. Last part I'm really on the lookout for is the rear bumper from the MPC/AMT milner coupe. I know it's a simple bar that I could probably bend out of aluminum, but I like the look of the kit piece. -

Haha, I hadn't even noticed you said Spielberg And i could be wrong on the channeling too. We can agree on one thing, it was always intended to be lower. -
Were these the only two versions to have this style uptop in them? I really would like to have the top if anyone has one to spare (not to be confused with the Monogram 1/24 version)

Calnaga Castings Open Again
Mr. Metallic replied to 1stevep25's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Nice to see you back, you have a lot of parts that are unique to the market. I'm especially intrigued by the dirt bike tires, having recently purchased the Round2 part pack dirt bike set. In those, the wheel and tire are molded together, so yours would be a possible upgrade. Also, your 427 SOHC conversion. Are these parts based on original masters, modified kit parts, or other? -
Calnaga Castings just announced their return, and they have a 427 SOHC in their catalog. Curious if these are copies of existing kit parts, or improved kit base items? Adds a new wrinkle to this conversation either way... http://www.calnaga.com/Store.html

Yeah, just call it the Man of Iron roadster With regards to the tooling, the Rat Roaster is all new tooling, separate from the R/M roadster from the late 90's. It's engineered to be in the same "family" as the R/M deuce kits, so parts can swap, but the tooling was all new. So Blitz has two tooling options to base this Man of Iron car on if they ever chose to do it.
-
To my knowledge, the Mach 1 version (which depicts an actual FoMoCo showcar) was never reissued. The tooling was modified into three successive versions (listed in what I believe is their release order, I could be wrong). One of these versions should still be viable, whichever one was issued last probably. Iron Horse Superstang And the Autolite Special

Drag City Castings makes the Milner Coupe grille in resin... My understanding on the 1:1 was that Lucas wanted it channeled over the frame(not sectioned), but ran out of money and time to get the car to fit his vision. -
What makes you so sure? If you're talking about the original version Mach 1 you have pictured here, then yes, you may be right. Since it was modified into 3 other versions after this, at least the last version should still be viable though (I think it was the Autolite Special, but I could be wrong) Really wish I could get my hands on a set of the Mach 1 version wheels though. They are sweet.

Based on the OP's listed address, maybe these are expected dates for release in Canada? Or at least when they expect these items from their distributor? Elm City Hobbies 1779 Route 640 Fredericton, NB, Canada

A lot of imagination there, and cleanly executed design. Well done. -
Reissues of the same kit
Mr. Metallic replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I don't see any reference to Barris owning the vehicle in that article. Did he claim it elsewhere? Great looking little car. I have the Bob Johnston flathead version on my list of projects. -
Parts Box '34 Roadster - The Race of Gentlemen Entry
Mr. Metallic replied to gwolf's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Curious what is so "awful" about the kit supplied chassis under this 34? It's actually a pretty nice representation of late 70's street rod tech, with the open Jag rear. The problem with this kit, like Ace said, is that they took the Buttera T kit (on the bottom right of that 3 car set pictured) and shrunk a 34 type body to fit the much shorter wheelbase of a T. On to your build. I dig it so far, but I would lose the way too short hood pieces. That would give you the opportunity to stick a cool engine in there, and put the grille closer to where it belongs. You can still keep it back a little as it's giving a cool look, but just needs to move a little forward from where it sits now in my opinion. And I really dig the AlaKart dash/windshield frame, it looks right at home in that body. -
Disteel Wheels Model T
Mr. Metallic replied to jaxenro's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I'm very interested in a set of these wheels for a vintage speeder I'm formulating. Please let us know when they are ready, and if they fit any other, more widely available kit tires
