I did some work on lowering the rear end. I cut out the floor and C notched the frame. Before this the ride height was such that the fender skirt JUST covered the bottom of the wheel. This is closer to the ride height I'm looking for. I will be making an airbag system for this once I get the floor repaired. Later-

Chopped Porsche 911 widebody Speedster: Aug.24

Wow! What an idea. Great to see it coming to life. I say keep at it until it's finished (unlike what I do with every project). Later- -
Hey, whatever works. Later-

Wow! looks like a real junker. Congrats. BTW- are you going to have any leftover parts that you want to get rid of? PM me, if so. Later-

Great looking color on that. I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. How do you keep the salt on while you spray the paint. I know others have done this method, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm having fun right now with this same kit. Nice to see you didn't chop it. How have you lowered the suspension, or have you yet? I am starting the rear by removing the leaf springs and making trailing arms with air bags. Later-

Bob- That is looking great with miles deep blue paint and the wheels fill out the wells perfectly. Great choice. Later-

Sounds like a great plan. I can't wait to see more. I really like these Fujimi Porsches. I've got a few to build myself, including the 73. Keep us posted. Later-

Sean- Looks as great on here as it does in person. I really like how that Mica Blue turned out. I can't wait to see your progress on the Pontiac and the NSX. Keep.it up and we'll get together for another build night before the month is over. Later-

That is going to look killer. I've got to pick one of those up. Later-

Great looking build. Decals look awesome. Got a link to Franklin Ink? Later-

I did a quick bit of work tonight on this. I made some fender skirts similar to the ones on the VC and did a bit more molding and shaping on the bottom of the side trim. Next, I added some styrene strip to the edges of my wheel backs to tighten them up in the tires. While at it I shortened the wheel mounting point a bit to narrow the rear axle width to fit in the rear fenders. Before: After: Here are a couple of shots to compare the original width to the narrower width. I've got enough room now for the tires to fit behind the skirts now. Next is to lower the rear suspension. I've got to go low enough for almost, if not all, of the rear tire to be hidden. I'm probably going with Modelhaus 57 Caddy caps in the front. Anyone know where I can get some small chrome bullets for the center of the caps? PM me if you do. That's it for tonight. 5AM comes awful early. Later-

Has a good look to it. Nice going. Later-

Beautiful build. It must have taken a lot of work. Got any in progress photos? Later-

No, it's more of a "neatness envy". I have a ton of the old small Testors bottles that were beginning to overrun my bench a while back. I had some strips of J metal that I had brought home from an old roofing project. The bottles fit just perfectly inside of it. So I cut two pieces down to about 4 feet and mounted them to the wall above my bench. Now most of my bottles are alphabetized on the wall above my bench. Later-

I love that Vette kit. I have the roadster version and would love to get the hardtop too. Later-

Ant Welcome to the forum! Looks good so far. You are off to a good start. I completely understand about not finishing a build due to customizing. I have builds still in progress that I started almost 25 years ago! It can be a bad habit but it's hard not to get excited about starting a new build when an idea hits. That 65 Impala is a favorite of mine. I'll keep an eye on your build. Later-

Now that is some perfect weathering. Got any tips on how to use the oil paints to get results like that? Just look at the detail in the center of the front wheel. It's perfect. How do you thin the paint and to what consistency? Later-

Mike I look forward to watching you build this. I always love looking at your WIPs. If for no other reason than to see your bench top and all of your paints lined up. Lol. Later-

Dan I can't wait to see what you do with this. Like most people the 63-67 Vette are my favorite. I have a few of them to build so I'll keep an eye on your progress. Later-

I'm liking the work you've done so far. The weathering has a good look to it. Keep it up. Later-

I love the work you've done and especially like the color. The only thing I don't like are the wheels. They look too stock to me. With the Veilside body kit on it the wheels just look like they were never upgraded. Nice work on the build though. Later-

It looks extremely nice in silver and black. You did a great job on it. I've got a 67 waiting to be built. I'm another who would love to see a new tool 67 or 68 Camaro come out. Later-

Thanks CH. This build will be similar to the Voodoo Creeper but I have some changes of my own planned (not to mention that the VC is a sedan and this is a Fleetline) I'm thinking of calling this one the Boulevard Creeper. I still need to extend the rear fenders a bit on this but I need to wait until I order my 56 Packard taillights. I don't want to have to do work twice. Later-

I like it very much! Are you planning on doing any weathering to the body or will it be shiny? I'm sure it will look great either way. Instead of using the kit hinge pins you may think about doing some in brass rod to stiffen them up. Otherwise the doors may sag. Later-
