  1. Got a bit more of the little, yet important, stuff done this weekend. I managed to clean up the edges between the hood/fenders and the body. I had to glue some styrene strips in yo close up the gaps a bit. I removed the windshield and rear window trim and replaced with .040 half round and sanded off the door handles and beltline trim. I will replace the trim with more .040 half round. I also filled in and reshaped the rear side windows and filed off the drip rail and filled in the top of the door frame. Lastly, I removed the stone guards in preparation for some custom fender skirts. That's it for this weekend. As I said, a lot of work on this one this weekend, but not much to show for it. I will hit this soon with a coat of primer to see where I'm at. Comments welcomed. Later-
  2. Many nice looking Studes here. Dan- I do believe it was me who sent you those parts. I know I sent them to someone. Glad I could help you out and that it got finished. Yes, I do need to finish mine. The problem I am having is figuring out how and where to cut the rear axle set up on the Vette to get it narrow enough to fut the rear tires under the body. I'll get back to it soon enough. Later-
  3. Here is mine. I started it back in '99 with a then new Vette. Shortened body about 1/2 inch behind the doors, reshaped door openings, Porsche headlight buckets, sectioned front pan, rolled rear pan, custom engine bay, windshield frame from a 53 Ford Convertible, Vette interior and chassis/suspension. I put it aside when I hit MAJOR modifications on the rear suspension. /IMG_20130406_204526.jpg Later-
  4. Kevin Love the paint color. What is it? The black wash on the grille looks good. In all honesty that is a tough grille to wash because the grille is so fine. Most won't be that difficult to do. Keep after it. Later-
  5. Geoff Looking great so far and I am liking the color choices too. I have a few of those Enthusiast Porsche kits to build but I don't have this one. I'd love to get it. I'm watching and taking notes. Later-
  6. You may have paid dearly for it but it looks worth it. A beautiful build. Later-
  7. Whoop! That's purtty. Is that a die cast or a build up? Later-
  8. Beautifully simplistic build. A perfect example of less being more. Can't wait to see the color on it. Later-
  9. That is looking great, Brett. I like the choice of seats. They fill out the interior well and they have a rounded profile that fits well with the roundness of the car. I wish that I had some cash, I would swap you some 19 inch Phat Daddys for your 23 inch fronts. I'm sure I have a pair of them here. I have one recommendation. I would add a bit of strip plastic to the front of the rear fender wells to fill them out a bit and make them follow the curvature of the rest tires a bit. I never liked how thin the front of the rear fenders were on the Willys. Looking great though and keep it up. I'll be following this one. Later-
  10. Pearl white would be an excellent choice for the bird. Looking forward to it. I have the American Graffitti issue of this kit. I am using the seat as a custom seat for my 50 Ford. Later-
  11. Those look very nice. I always liked those kits. Great paint work on them. Later-
  12. The pickup is Jimmy Shine's build, if I'm not mistaken. It makes sense since I saw a photo on the web last night of Gibbons, Shine and a third guy standing in front of it. Later-
  13. Another of mine: 69 Super Camaro Later-
  14. I've got one of those. The previous owner decided to try to build the engine and chassis with a couple of tubes of glue while blindfolded. Later-
  15. I'm dying to build a low rider bomb 41 Chevy pickup that I've been picturing in my mind for two or three years now. I've got most, if not all of the parts collected and have done a bit of research on the paint job I want to do. Someday soon...... Later-
  16. Found this tonight. I don't know why I'd never seen it before. Enjoy the rods and all. Later-
  17. Anne I have to say that this is not my area of interest but looking at what you have done so far to a very familiar kit, I have to say that your work is excellent. Especially for a first build. You are customizing this just as much as those of us who build the Kustoms, just a different outcome. Keep at it and I'll be watching the progress. Later-
  18. That is a sweet looking body. Great decal work. I like it. Later-
  19. Nice inspiration. I like the look of that. Keep at it. Later-
  20. Man, that is beautiful. I regret not buying a case of those when I could have. I'm going to have to start searching for s few of those. I love that dark green and your interior work is fantastic. Keep it up. Later-
  21. Foxer Thanks for the post. Those 56 Packard lights are what I'm looking for. Thanks for all the great comments guys. BTW How do I download a plugin to my phone to see YouTube videos? I can't even see the video I posted. Later-
  22. So, as some of you may know from my 56 Windsor build link, in conjunction I am building a 51 Fleetline similar in style to the "Voodoo Creeper". Here is a link to the 1:1 on Youtube. Don't worry, the video is only 40 seconds Here is a photo from a magazine of the tilt front end in progress. Here is where I am at as of tonight. I've gotten the top chopped, the front end extended and cut free and I have the grille roughed in. For the grille I used the custom grille parts from the AMT 57 Chevy and bullets and a center grille bar from a parts pack. I'm going to try to extend the rear fenders a bit and modify taillights from a 57 Chrysler 300, if I can locate a set somewhere. That's all for tonight. Thanks for stopping in. Later-
  23. Thanks for the comments. I managed to get some putty on the roof during lunch and got it sanded down. It is going to need at least one more coat of putty. No pictures due to nothing really exciting to show. I got some work done to my 51 Fleetline today also. I'm going to start its own posting when I get home tonight. So, look for it. Later-
  24. Nice work so far. I am building my version of the 51 Fleet line. What are your plans for taillights? I plan to do an extension of the rear fenders so I'm trying to figure out a taillight that will fit the bill. I'm thinking of a modified 57 Chrysler 300. Looking forward to your updates. I'll post some photos of my build if you're interested. Later-
