  1. Steve, Excellent work, as always. I have enjoyed viewing this build. I want to get started on my 62 GP soon (as soon as I find where I put it) and I'll be looking back through this thread as a reference to how it should be done. Later-
  2. Looks very nice and tidy Al! I like your work on the engine and exhaust. Great color combo too. Later-
  3. Thanks Al! Later-
  4. Thanks Roger! Your pickups look fantastic. I'll give this method a try and see how it turns out. If nothing else, I'll mail you my tires and have you paint them. Lol. Later-
  5. Roger, That is exactly the look I want! Are you talking about the Revell 32 Ford 3 and 5 window kits? What did you paint the sidewall with? I guess I didn't explain the "lower profile" better. The ones Roger (Plowboy) posted above do not have the tread carry over to the sidewall like the ones that were pictured by ones like Steve (StevenGuthmiller) pictured. Thank you everyone. Later-
  6. Thanks guys! I really like how this one turned out. Later-
  7. I'm not looking for a specific brand (although what I have read in some of the photos mentions Coker tires). What I need is a lower profile sidewall than the standard Revell kit tires that I've seen. The tires pictured are a wider than average tire too. So a fat lower profile wide whitewall tire. If anyone has a photo of the tire they are recommending on a build, that may be helpful too. I want to use them on my 49 Ford. Later-
  8. So, I am looking for some tires like the ones in the pics below. I am thinking of ordering some from Modelhaus tires unless I can find some in a kit. My problem is I cannot seem to contact anyone at Modelhaus tires. Does anyone know which would be best or a kit that has ones like the pics? Later-
  9. Robert, What is kit source for the tires and wheels on the purple build? Later-
  10. Lol. And yet, we still keep going back. Later-
  11. Shot another coat of clear on the body and hood of the flamed 49 Ford....and then promptly dropped the wet hood face down on the floor. I let it dry and tried to sand out the dust and grit. Ended up sanding through the white of the flames on the very front point of the hood. Spent the rest of the morning taping off the flames and trying to repaint to match the pearl white with just the right mist of pearl green. Aaargg! I think it ended up coming out alright, but nothing near as nice as it was..... Later-
  12. Thanks Sam. That 64 Chevy is another stalled project (notice a theme?). It has a NASCAR front suspension, bagged rear, body side and cab trim added. Later-
  13. Thanks Jim. They have both been fun projects. I have a few other interesting alterations to Josephine that I have done. When I get the yellow one done I'll probably get back to work on her. Thanks Carl. Later-
  14. Thanks Joe! Later-
  15. That was my chore for today too. Got the BMF done. I'll do the side window trim with Molotow. Later-
  16. Thanks David. The brown Ford is Josephine- the girl next door. It is a stalled project 50 Convertible that I added a stretched 49 Ford coupe roof to make a 50 Sedan. The paint is a HOK gold (maybe Pagan) with HOK Cocoa pearl over the top. Later-
  17. I sectioned and painted this back in June of 2018 and I'm just getting back to it. Throwing some BMF on it today and have been sectioning the interior. The last photo is where we are at today. Later-

    Duster

Very sharp looking build. I also like the body color and the detailing on the grill. Later-
  19. Beautiful work James! Very realistic looking build from front to back. What brand and color of paint did you use for the body? Later-
  20. Thanks Carl. I got some need style bumpers made up and installed yesterday. All that's left is to paint the wheels and fiddle with the top. I'm thinking that I can airbrush the wheels with Molotow chrome and then flow some acrylic gloss black into the centers. Fortunately I have some extras to test my theory on. Later-
  21. Thanks Nigel. Like you, I have seen many of these for sale or trade but I have never seen one built. Not a high quality kit but it doesn't look bad when built. Thanks Andre. I got a few different sets recently from Fink's Garage. Nice stuff. Later-
  22. One last one for now. Later-
  23. Making some good progress on this one. Got the BMF done, mirrors made, the suspension lowered, taillights, and license plate installed. I also found a decent speedo decal to add. I realized that I was missing all of the door and trunk handles so I cut them from the thin strip of chrome that was supposed to accent to running boards. Just the perfect width. Not much left to do. I don't like the kit bumpers, so I may try to scratchbuild some out of half round. Later-
  24. Michelle, Nice job trying something new. It has the look of a factory concept, which I like. You can definitely see where you had difficulty with the putty work but I applaud your willingness to stretch your boundaries. No doubt you learned a thing or two for the next one. Keep working at it! BTW- what putty did you use? I've had good success with Bondo Glazing Putty when doing work like this. Also, I haven't used it much, but I think for a job like this, two part epoxy putty might give you better results. I plan to use some today to widen the fenders on a pickup. Later-
  25. What a nice clean build. Has a great look to it, just like back in the day! Later-
