You like the Cobra, Sam? How about this one that I just won on eBay? Another one that I'm looking forward to getting in my hands. I'm not sure why they listed it as "Complete Sealed" and then in their comments and pictures it's opened and "may be missing parts". From the pictures though it looks to be complete. Later-

Sam, I just saw one of those 1/16 Vettes on FB Marketplace for $50. Almost got it. Why don't you send me the 1/12 gullwing 300 to go with my 1/24 rebuilders? Later-

Wow! Your build looks good. I never thought of using an early Corvette windshield frame. I have the remains of an old built-up that my Uncle built in the 70's that is missing most of the windshield frame. Now I know what to do with it. Later-

So YOU bought that. I had my eye on it but didn't have much need for the parts. The one I have is a hardtop and is complete. I thought about it though. Later-

I won this off of eBay on Wednesday for less than $47 shipped. Super excited to have one that I can tear into and leave the complete one on the shelf. Later-

Matt, that is an amazing diorama. The leaves in the gutter and the oil stain in the night shots are extremely realistic. Very well done. Thanks for sharing. Later-

That is gorgeous! I like the smoked chrome idea. It turned out well. I have a stalled 66 Nova project that I started many years ago with a lot of subtle body mods. I have often thought about finishing it as a slammer since the project focuses on the body and not the rest. I think you have rejuvenated my project! Thank you! Later-

Chevy Impala '70 (gun metal with black custom roof)

Beautiful work.youve done on this one. I like the fact that you kept from doing a custom with it. It looks outstanding. Later- -
Thanks guys! Carl- what in particular are you wanting to know about the hood? If you're asking about the BMF, I placed the BMF then used Tamiya fine line tape as a guide for my Xacto blade to trim it out. Later-

Steve, I really like this one! Everything about it is just right to me. Now I know how I want mine to look. Later-

Well, I got the pin heads put in for the lug nuts. What do you guys think? I think they definitely give it the finished look. Later-

Very nice work on the paint polishing and the foil work. It is looking great! Later-

Very nice looking work you're doing on this. I have this kit and have wanted to find a way to delete the bullet from it also. I appreciate your information. As to the AS-5 paint you are using, it is perfect. If you did want a pearlescent finish, I suggest a light coat of Testors White Lightning. It is the exact paint combo I used on my 57 Ford wagon. It has a nice way of "pearlizing" the flat finish. Although I do like the flat finish on your build. I look forward to seeing how your build turns out. Later-

That's why you'll notice that I edited my "snide comment". Hopefully nobody saw it. I try not to cause contention around here. Later-

I like this very much! Great idea to build your own. It has a great look to it. I got one of the Uncertain It's as a built up a couple years ago for DIRT cheap. ($5 for a box full of old built ups) It was only missing the back wall. I didn't see me redoing it any time soon and so I sold it for a hefty profit. Later-

Yes. I really liked the wheels. Got a few different sets from Fink's Garage. Nice stuff. Later-

Thanks Fellas! I didn't think there would be this many who would like this build due to the quality of the kit I started with. Glad you guys like it. Later-

Quitting the Hobby
Modlbldr replied to stavanzer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Alan, Sorry to hear you are leaving the hobby, but only you know what is best for you. I have enjoyed trading with you in the past (and some quite recent). Take care, stop in once in a while to say "Hi", and enjoy the next phase in your life to the full. Hope to see you around some day. Later-
