  1. I finally got my Veneno kit in from HLJ !! It's quite an impressive kit and reminds me of the Enthusiast kits. The body panels being separate will make it a little more challenging for me to paint and assemble cleanly. And also the decals will be challenging with all the pinstriping ! But hey, I love it and very seldom back away from a challenging kit !!
  2. Mine just shipped today on the slow boat !!! Can't wait to get my grubby little hands on it !! Hmm, now I don't know whether to start on my La Ferrari that just came in or on this one !!!
  3. I still gotta order the c/f and the p/e for the La Ferrari. I must have had a brain fade and forgot to order those with it. I'd like to try and combine all those items together if the timing is right. My son tells me i'm crazy for wanting to use all the c/f , and he's right but that's never stopped me before !!
  4. Cool bundle !! I loaded up on their black friday sale the other day but most of mine was either December release or on restock status !! But at least I got my sale price locked in. I did recieve my La Ferrari though !! I love it !!
  5. Looks good man. Just a tip for future reference whenever you are doing a multi color paint job. I always lay a clearcoat in between colors. In other words after your first color and it has cured completely, shoot a layer of clear down, doesn't have to be real thick, then after it's cured well, mask off and shoot you next color. The reason for this is in case you do have any bleed over, you can hit that spot with either a polish compound or sandpaper grit of around 1500 to 2000 and wetsand lightly those spots. It may seem like more work but it actually is easier than stripping and going through all that hassle. I've not had to dip a body in many years. The only thing to watch for is the compatiblility of the types of paint your using. Such as staying with laquer on all coats or enamel or whatever you used. Hope this helps !!
  6. How does the Cuda kit stack up to the older ones ?? Does the body look right this time ??
  7. I finally got my La Ferrari !!! Oh, and a bunch of meds and shots at the ER !! Just bent over and ohhh snap went my back !!!
  8. Hmmmmm, sounds like a keeper you got there !!!
  9. Grabbed a couple cans of Tamiya white primer from Hobby Lobby with the coupons. So glad they started carrying some Tamiya items, especially the primers !!
  10. I'll be going also. Have some builds to put on the tables and also will be vending ! It's always a great show !! Never miss it.
  11. That is a pretty good clear there Jonathan. Seems to be a little thicker than Tamiya, and dries a little harder. Be sure to use a respirator and ventilate well. It has a very different smell and almost made me sick cause I didn't do those things !! It does have an awesome gloss to it though !!!
  12. I wash mine well. but without the purple bath. But I do an extra step in here. After applying the decal, I spray again with gloss clear, then the flat clear. Depending on how flat you want it, you can add more layers of flat untill you get the desires dullness. But beware when installing your rims into the tires after you've sprayed them as the clears will crack if your not carefull. I like to install the rims before spraying, and lay coins of an appropriate size onto the rims to cover them. Also I would suggest checking into some tire lettering transfers. These are fairly easy to apply but the sidewalls must be clean, then the transfers should be burnished down. Hope this helps.
  13. Beautiful build Jonathan !! I have that one in the " to do " pile !!! What paint did you use ??
  14. That's really cool !! Where did you get it from ? Any links to where I can find it ??
  15. Picked me up the re-release of the Jukebox ford pro mod. I bought several of the first issue and every one of them had sorry decals. Already had the car painted so it got put in file 13. Now with fresh decals, HOPEFULLY I can finish the original one and build something else outa this kit.
  16. Be extra careful Jonathan when fitting up that tail section with the wing on it to match up with the rear engine cover. I recently built that same kit and had a terrible time trying to get the angle right and still get it level. I had to use a dremel and side cutters to trim away that rear bulkhead with the pins on it. I also had to slot those mounting holes in the rear section. I almost airmailed the whole kit !!! lol.. The pics for it are in my Fotki album at the link below. It was one of those 24 hr. builds. I may jump in here on this build soon. Will look it over close and see what I have to build for it.
  17. Very nice !! I notice that most all of them don't have the Flatscreen or the computer anywhere in sight. Hmmm, maybe that's my problem with modelers a.d.d. !!!
  18. Would you mind telling me where you got the two Red Alert decals ???? Or is it a secret ? LOL....... Been hunting those myself.
  19. Wait, what ??? You wasted perfectly good Future on a floor ?? But isn't it supposed to be for clearcoating your models ????
  20. I've put most of mine in those clear rubbermaid type shoeboxes. Throw those awful boxes away, not even worth puttin donuts in !!
  21. This is my kit I was tellin you about the other day. Flinstone kit with the Revell Torino kit for doner. Don't have any of the chassis done yet, just this body work. Still have the stripes to put on it.
  22. Yes mine is a Flintstone one also, with the decals. I have the hood decal on it so far, just waiting to do the side stripes for when i'm almost finished handling it in order to protect them.
  23. I have one of the resin kits. It is of this very car. I'm not finished with it yet, it's painted but no stripes on it yet.It uses the Revell kit as a doner.
  24. I have that Mazda 787B kit and was lucky enough to see the 1:1 car last week at the Mitty at Road Atlanta !! I have tons of detail shots of it. I was gonna build the kit for my LM 24hr build, but not now. I'm gonna get the carbon fiber template set and p/e set for it from Scale Motorsports to do it justice now !! My son has the other kit, the Charge kit thats orange and green along with the extras for it also. Love that car, and when it starts and runs, well there's just no words !!!
  25. The sandwich meats little plastic boxes with the snap on lids are great also for storing parts, paints, glues. The wife uses them for leftovers, but I snag a few for my parts when she ain't looking !!!
