  1. Ouch... well, since it's just in the clear coat, you should be able to carefully wetsand it enough to get it out and then just re-clear. You might be able to salvage the color coats long as you dont go through into the color and primer !! Worth a try, worst case, you'd have to re-shoot it again anyway.
  2. OK guys, back on the horse. I got the headlight assemblies done and installed, the lenses painted Tamiya clear orange as per the GT class, and the front grill mesh painted and installed. Next up will be the rear details !!
  3. Hang in there Justin, long as your still kickin, you ain't outa the game !! I'm gonna have to get back in the work force myself after a self imposed retirement of sorts that has lasted 5 years now !!!
  4. I went to the Mitty last saturday at Road Atlanta, and wow what an event. Here is my pics album and maybe someone can use these for reference. http://public.fotki....r-mitty-histor/
  5. Awww sweet !!! I have that kit myself and it's a honey !! Those decals will be awesome !!! Good luck with the contest !!!
  6. I actually did a little work last night on the Lambo. Been a little distracted lately with a medical crisis, but am trying to get back on track now. I'll try and do a little more tonight and post up a pick tomorrow !! That prancing horse is lookin slick Jonathan !!!
  7. From what I can see, with the lighting and all, it looks very close. Thanks for the tip, i'll have to check it out !!

Wow, that is beautiful !! It may be your first completed but it's crafted like a seasoned pro !!! Hats off to ya man !!
  9. Very nice !!! What paint did you use may I ask ?? I have the same kit to build and am searching for the paint without having to order any.
  10. I got the great news that my biopsy showed NO big C !!! Crisis averted, now to get back to focus on my models !!!! :D :D
  11. I would have to say I have 2 that are kinda equal to me at the top of my list. The first one would have to be this Scale Productions resin Ferrari 550lm. It is the first time I had ever attempted such a complicated build, and it won 2 major contest awards for me at the level I always wanted to reach. The other one would have to be my Hiro Aston Martin DBR9. I attempted the same level of build as the Ferrari, yet it took me around 5 years to finish it through a very difficult time in my life. I had a love/hate relationship with this kit but I pressed on through to finish it and am very satisfied with the results !!
  12. I've used Plasticote white sandable primer many times as a base for neon colors and it works great !! Just wish I could still find it anymore !!!
  13. Danny, Those are really sweet lookin builds !!! Doug, that is coming along very nicely !! I just may have to dig mine out and build one again !!!
  14. Revell '68 Charger, and '69 Nova's were separate wipers and door handles also. Can't remember about the '69 Charger though.
  15. Side note here, as long as we're talking about true hok paints, and not the horrid rattlecans that were out a few years ago, I have had no problem mixing Tamiya, Plasticote, or hok.
  16. Ok, I have my subject picked out. Are we gonna start posting them here or start a new thread for them ??
  17. For future reference, when you have a decal that's not sticking too well, try some Micro-sol decal setting solution to help set them down tight. It is made by Microscale, and has red lettering on the bottle. I've used this for years and it has saved many projects from the iron fist !!! After it has dried well, you can use a damp kleenex to wipe the excess off very gently so you will have a clean surface for the clearcoat. A word of warning though, only apply a very small amount of this as a lot of it can damage decals also. Again, test it on spare decals of the same kind if possible first. I've learned that lesson the hard way !!!!
  18. I myself have never had a problem with ts13 over decals. As mentioned earlier, just make sure the decals are adhered good to the surface, and apply in light coats with a few minutes flash time between coats. Of course the before mentioned test first on another decal suggestion should always apply. I have never had any yellowing from Tamiya clear either. It being a laquer, that had solved all my previous issues from other paints with yellowing.
  19. Uh Oh, how did I get myself into this ??? lol.... Hmm, i'll have to go through mine and see which one i'd like to do. I have a little bit started on the Jag, but will have to see...
  20. YES, next to GT cars, grp C are my next favorites. I have a large stash of all kinds of them so I would definitelly be in on that !! Back when I was working I went on a buying binge for them !!! This would give me an incentive to finish the Jag XJR9 I have started !!
  21. I have a Hoosier stencil but can't remember who made it.........
  22. I ran across a stack of these in the white and blue colors at a KB Toy liquidators years back for $4. a pop and loaded up on them. I got a set of the Miller aftermarket decals for one of them. They were very cool kits for the time !!
  23. I also use a marker. Make sure to use a chisel point tipped one though, it gives you the best control. I have tried different brands and have finally found one that the ink is more black and doesn't look as blue after it dried. So you might want to try several brands. The one I use now is Super Monami brand purchased at Walmart.
  24. My bull is coming along. Got the rest of the decals on, the side blades in c/f, and the c-post covers on. At this rate i'll have him done, maybe by 2025 !!!! LOL.....
