  1. Actually, either one of those would not surprise me !!! Being that napcar has become so much of a joke, they'd do anything for the " show " !!!!
  2. A google search will bring up lots of pics of his cars. And if your on facebook, search Bill "grumpy " Jenkins and there's a treasure trove of pics of his toys.
  3. The top of the dash has been black for as long as I can remember. This was done for glare purposes. I have only seen just a few rear decks that were anything other black. But as Michael just mentioned, this could have varied a lot depending on tracks and such. The cars are always apples and oranges anyway from week to week, subtle things will change.
  4. I have found this link with the front dash and rear deck in blue. But i've seen others in black also . I have planned on doing mine in black myself. http://volocars.com/1986-pontiac-2+2-aerocoupe-nascar-c-1834.htm
  5. http://www.nhra.com/story/2012/3/29/pro-stock-legend-bill-grumpy-jenkins-dies/
  6. Just heard that Grumpy Jenkins has passed away. " Da Grump " was a legend of drag racing and will be missed. Also my understanding that Caroll Shelby is hospitalized and is very ill also. God speed to these great men !!!
  7. Got the stripes on and some of the c/f decals. The red is a really bright dayglo color that really pops. Still lots of decals to go yet but it's starting to take shape !!
  8. I've also had great results with the spray on decal bonder from Testors. And you also have to trim it very close to your graphics as well, but it is very flexible and I have used it with the red label Mirosol with no problem.
  9. Beautiful work !! I gotta get this kit for myself !! Thanks for sharin the buildup.
  10. Take the advice from me, don't try it !! As I found out the hard way, and had to strip and repaint one because of that. Good 'ole hand rubbing is the way to go so you can control what and how much you take off !!
  11. Wow that's looking great !!! What paint and color names did you use for the interior and roof ?? I'm thinking about breaking open my only one left and building it. I had previously done a quick build years ago, but want to do it justice now.
  12. Got the Lambo all polished out with a detail masters kit and Tamiya compound. Cleaned it up and touched up the boo boos. Now we will start seeing some visual progress as I begin the c/f and decal work. Thx for following along.
  13. Update on the Lambo. Got the body masking line leveled out, and clear coated the body with ts13. I think I may break out the polishing kit on this one. I made sure I had enough clear on it in case I decided to !! I'm bad about rubbing through so, we'll see !! lol....
  14. This particular episode will be on Antenna TV sunday at 7 pm. titled " Monkees race again ".
  15. Great start man !!! The detailing really brings this kit to life. I have this same kit and got it out to start on it and realized just how fiddly it was gonna be and put it right back up !! Keep this up and i'll have it back out !!! lol.....
  16. Yep, and it was bottoming out and bouncing a lot too !!
  17. I believe this is the one you are mentioning. Strangely enough, this episode was just on Antenna TV last weekend.
  18. My bad, Davy..... sorry for being a little upset over this........... No disrespect meant !!!
  19. Seems we've lost another bit of our childhood....... I loved watchin the Monkees !! http://www.hlntv.com/article/2012/02/29/davy-jones-monkees-dead-66-years-old?hpt=hp_t3
  20. Did a little work on the Lambo last night while watchin the Nascar ROAST !!! Taped off and sprayed the black. Now on to clean up the lines and clear it next.
  21. I used to always use Plasticote , then everyone around here quit carrying it. Then also with the Tamiya fiasco, I was in a bind. I luckily had stocked up on Tamiya and just about out of it when I found it recently at HobbyTown again. I can't find the Plasticote anywhere. Tractor Supply inother areas carries it, but not locally. Even tried to get them to order it and they say they can't. I just haven't been able to get comfortable with Duplicolor and won't risk a paint job anymore with the walmart stuff under the paints I use. I have some quarts of some autobody primer, but prefer the ease of the rattle cans vs. getting the airbrush setup just for primer.
  22. My closest HobbyTown has very little of it. They recently started carrying the primer, which I buy about as quick as they stock it. But the color selection is hurting severely. But they are a relatively new store and are gradually building up their supplies.
  23. UUhh, Dr., there's something wrong with that one picture, there is actually some paint on that Tamiya rack !!! Is that one of your dioramas ??? LOL......
  24. Update on the Lambo. Got the silver painted on, then clearcoated. I learned the hard way in the past to not tape over silver !!! Thus the clear first. Now have to mask off the black and spray it. When satisfied with all that, will build up some clear and polish it all out with a polishing kit.
