Revell Compuware 2003 Corvette CR-5
ffreak replied to Evil Appetite's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The reason they used the older C5R kit is that is the body that that this particular decal version had in '03 at Lemans, before GM updated the car to the C6R. The only problem I have with it is that they only choose to do the decals for the # 50 car and not include the #'s 53 on the sheet, which was the team car for the Lemans race. -
I can Scan these if anyone needs them,....On the C6-R and some one can print to waterslide Thx. Ian. But I have several of the C5R and C6R both, but need # decals to do the # 53 car.

Yes the kit is the same contents as the yellow one with newer decals. I got 2 of the new ones today and compared them with my older ones. The decals for this version only have the # 50 car. The team ran 2 cars at Lemans in '03 with them being the # 50 and also # 53. My son is doing one and I was going to do the other. Does anyone know of a source for them, or anyone willing to make me a # sheet for it ? The correct paint for them is available from Scalefinishes also if anyone wants to go that route. My son also got some Tamiya paint and a p/e sheet on clearance for a Tamiya GTR.

The Radio Shack wires are by far the best choice for the least money as you get basically a lifetime supply of each color for such a small investment. If they only had black and yellow in them now !! http://www.radioshac...oductId=2062641

What do you store your equipment in?
ffreak replied to '08SEAL's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
What ??? We're supposed to store them ???? And all this time I was leaving mine on the dining table, my desk, the coffee table, the sink and wherever I laid them down !!! Arrrggghhh,!!!! Seriously though, I have a craftsman box just like above and some plastic drawers on a roll around, and then those plastic shoeboxes all over the place full of paints and supplies. Then the hand tools I use the most in one plastic box I carry around to wherever i'm building at the time . -
Paint Question for you guys
ffreak replied to JustBill's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The Tamiya TS13 is what I switched to that solved my problem. After about 5 or 6 years now it still hasn't yellowed. -
Paint Question for you guys
ffreak replied to JustBill's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
From my experience i'm thinking it has something to do with the use of the " enamel clear ". I used to have the same problems very often, after I switched to laquer exclusively, problem solved !!! -

How Do You Use Your Decals?
ffreak replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I think it's perfectly fine to use your decals on whatever project you choose. I mean it's your own personal interpretation on that kit. It should be your free choice. I also save every unused decal for any future use in a tupperware shoe box with packets of silica to keep the moisture down in order to preserve them. -

I actually found a copo nova kit at Hobby Lobby and was priced at $23.99 and used a 40% off coupon and was happy with that. Went next door to Kmart and found 2 more of them there and today only had a buy 1 get second one 50% off and were priced at $14.99 !!!! SCORE !!! Thought I was actually gonna have to pay high dollar and shipping on top of that online so was really happy with these deals !! I had a Rally Nova for over 20 years and am gonna build a replica of it in each look it went through all those years !!

Miami Vice Daytona Spyder - built one?
ffreak replied to Jantrix's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Very clean build there futurabat !!!! I have a couple of the kit cars and a couple of the Fujimi enthusiast kits too. The kit car builds into a very nice build and is more simplified than the fuj. one as it has a much larger parts count. But both are excellent kits. !! -
Oh my.... very beautiful !!!!!!!
