  1. Neato! I was going to mention a '57 two-tone ... make it like the real with chrome(or rust) separator. Looks like you've been leaning that way too.
  2. I rarely comment on wheel choice, but these look MADE for this car!
  3. .. OR have to use their brakes. Just got back picking up the wife and almost got stopped in the driveway ... there IS a ice layer under this 8" .. but still.. would have been a first for the Audi.
  4. I may have to swing up there for a peek next time I hit Albany for an Infinity tune up.
  5. Snow is normal around here. We just have an Audi A4 for winter ... maybe will scrape bottom before those monster trucks but we look GOOD during the glorious summers. And my G37 Coupe always looks good .. even during the "back up neighbors drive and RUN for my hilly drive" moments ... the electronics get it up with 2" anyway ...
  6. Outside is the first of two big snowstorms and I have the 4-wheel drive ... my wife needs a ride from work so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to put the finish coats on. I did salt the underside well and tried for a more subtle approach on the body. It looks good and probably will just take a few grains off in a few body areas to more closely match the 1:1.
  7. Welcome to the forum! I haven't done a L700 but I did recently purchase one! And as for '40 Fords ... haven't done one since 1962 .. But I DO have another sedan I got to recreate that one. Yours are looking good ... that '40 really does need a flatbed badly! The rusting is looking good. Actually. I'm just trying that salt method for the first time on my current van build. I'm trying to make it subtle and will probably paint tomorrow.
  8. I'm always surprised with something in every issue and will never stop my subscription. The latest arrived a day or so ago in pretty good condition .. the USPS shredders must be down! In addition to the diecast 924 Porsche Carrera GT review (I had 5 924/944's), The Revell 67 Dodge Charger review sparked my interests. My best friend that I grew up with, he was always Roy Rodgers and I had to be Jingles, had a 67 Charger as his first car. He had a dictator for a father and rarely got to use it. His Dad's '60 Mercury was getting old and he NEEDED the Charger to get to the New Hampshire horse tracks. It was an ugly light green and had no options other than the huge engine for speed to the tracks. We rarely got to go enjoy it as the teens we were, but I did christen it after his sister's wedding as all the wine we snuck deposited itself in my lap. Was a long tour of the car wash to get THAT evidence out. I don't think he was allowed out of the house for a month after that! Anyway, I don't NEED another build.. but ..
  9. I find it quite odd that there's only ONE hot link with all these sites mentioned. I guess there's always google, but this IS a web page and these can be easily linked since the people talking are the ones with the link.
  10. oh my .... everyone hide their doll houses!!!
  11. Thanks for the comments everyone ... and especially all the encouragement that has kept me going on this one!
  12. The exterior paint is from Paintscratch.com. Dark Blue Metallic for a 1985 G3500 GMC Van. I tried it earlier on the interior floor and wheel wells and it looks just right.
  13. Thanks, guys. and the bean bag chair was in my drawer right here, so everything is on track. I may need a vacation soon if this pace keeps up!
  14. A fleet of clean (excepting the weathering)looking builds here! Your weathering is very realistic in it's subtlety.
  15. Sounds like the midwest is really getting the big hit. Here in the Western Mass Berkshires they're saying 8" tomorrow, a pause, then 14" Wednesday .. and no ice! Just another winter day here.
  16. Well said, Bob.
  17. I definably like you nose as opposed to the JF concept. Looks much more "Trans Am". Now, just a big butt bird ...
  18. This is awesome! That offset hood opening and the hardware poking out makes you KNOW something different in there. The engine looks fantastic ... I may need sedatives if you come back with more wiring on it.
  19. You can't beat modeling something sitting in the garage! Paint looks dead on there.
  20. Not too much to report after the weekend, but I'm totally excited because the body is moving to the paint shop! I did the last of grinding the rusted holes with the Dremel and final primer is on. There's only a few areas where the rust is poking through again so I just brushed some rust color in those areas for some table salt weathering. All the blackish areas in the 1:1 photos are primer from amateur body repairs. Those areas I have to brush some lightened flat black over ... maybe thinned. I'm going to have to paint an old body with the blue finish to experiment as I go. The doors are glued to some sprue handles for painting. The dog is taunting me .., been avoiding getting the craft paints out to paint him. Mr Tee is gonna bonk me.. I lost his beanbag chair! I know I put it somewhere "safe" when my daughter was over with her herd of dogs .. ehhe missing photo Look at those door hinges! They all stayed on through washing and priming! missing photo This afternoon it's a trip to the fabric shop for some straight pins for hinge pins. A "standard" pin I grabbed from the pin cushion fit the hinges nice and tight with just the right amount of freedom. If I can find some with a nice head they will do. I also ordered some insect pins to use as an antenna. They sure do make those thin. They went from .25mm to .65mm in diameter with a ball on the that looks like it is smaller the smaller the pin. Replace mm with inches and that's what 1:1 size they are in 1/25 scale ... 1/4" to 5/8" ... nice.
  21. WHOA!
  22. This is looking really good! I'm jealous of those Brembo decals on the brakes as I have a build of my old G35 Coupe that needs them. I tried making a decal but it's just too small for clarity on an ink jet.
  23. I'm excited to see a new kit being molded, but I think this car is as bland and ugly as when I saw them in 1964. I'm more curious to see how the resident experts rate it when they get their hands on one.
  24. Malware isn't virus'. You haven't noticed even the largest companies in the world put malware on your computer?
  25. I'd bring my laptop down to the shop, but I'd have to build am extension to house it but then I NEVER get anything done!
