  1. Nice job with all that trim ... looks very clean.
  2. Looks like the frame is sitting as square as can be ... looks very good!
  3. Even your "cinder" blocks look right! Just plain realistic weathering!
  4. I'm just glad to see that place is STILL open!
  5. Exactly ... then there's the remote, but where else can you see these!
  6. This is EXACTLY my story, except substitute "67-69) cause I wasn't there. I was at beerfests in Germany."
  7. Nicely done, can't have enough split windows.
  8. I don't miss making plug wires out of waxed sewing thread ... but, what if model makers reinvented something called Annual Kits? .. trouble is, cars don't change like they used to back then.
  9. Been sitting and watching all along .. /stands up and salutes! Those rotors ARE amazing pieces!
  10. This one defiantly needed a panel line makeover! The panel lines on this kit were very wide and and shallow I tried an enamel wash ... not good. This needs a water based wash so it can be smoothed out, as you show. The white is enamel also so I was leery to use a solvent to remove whats there. It's faded a lot now, so maybe it would be worth trying a redo.
  11. A low branch ...
  12. I was recently asked a few questions about the engine in this build and since I've been experimenting with more realistic photos it's a good excuse to resurrect this thread. The air box was actually carved from an old toothbrush.
  13. A picture's worth a thousand words. After removing ALL parts from the sprues, I paint holding parts with these simple, cheap part holders, sometimes aided with toothpicks or pieces of tape ...
  14. I pretty much never leave anything on the sprue. Mold line clean up is probably one of my favorite parts of building ... clipping a part off the sprue, fondling and close examining it, scraping it free of mold lines down to the basic part ... excuse me for a few minutes ... I'm back. Everything goes into zip lock bags with LEFT and RIGHT labels as required to keep separate. Tape labels or sharpie marked when the part numbers will be needed for assembly. For painting, round toothpicks, tape, alligator clips ... whatever works for the parts. I see lots of creative ideas here for holding parts and will be adapting many I'm sure.
  15. Welcome in and your Impala is coming along very clean. The best part of all this is you get to do it exactly as YOU want to!
  16. Your great chop hit me in this view ... it's just so right! This sure looks like a fun build
  17. My kind of man ... When you;'re done, there's nothing left to work on...
  18. What a great look in that!
  19. Now, I'm even MORE in awe of your detailing!
  20. Do carry through with that visor!
  21. BAD move! now you really did it! The lawyers are monitoring this thread for sure and, not to mention the millions you have stolen from them using that logo, you wife will be having serious words with you!
  22. I'm still seeing all the photos in your first post. Sometimes there are browser burps.
  23. I decided to just stop using their names aloud.
  24. Sure does catch your attention! I LIKE it!
  25. I'd love it if my even had a clue that I might like one of those!
