  1. I guess they don't turn into butterflys anymore as they come out the door.
  2. I'm a Archer resin decal fan and the louvers are looking real good in the full body photos. The WHOLE car is looking good, actually!
  3. I like this build but will probably be guilty of not commenting on a progress shot. DON'T let lack of comments stop you! Sometimes we just get lazy and like to just look. You HAVE been getting quite a bit of feedback and lots of looks!
  4. The custom work and proportions of it are spot on! Very tastefully done and the paint looks great.
  5. Thanks for all the recommendations and tips. I ended up just doing it all at once when I saw how good the Slixx decals are! I just dipped in water for 5 seconds applied as I normally do. The decals stuck well and stayed in place as adjoining ones were placed. I used very little water so I'm thinking a should put some setting solution on once everything's dry. Some are also a bit off center .. I must have been too concentrated on just getting them even, so maybe some solution will let me adjust the big one later.
  6. Welcome and VERY classic and cool. That color is different and looks good!
  7. That's coming along really nice. There's never too much brick and what you have is done VERY well!
  8. Interesting itinerary, as mine was the same nearly 43 years ago! Was a war going on back then too, but being with Pershing Missile kept me safe. I wish you all the best.
  9. There are probably different configurations you can come up with as there are engine builders. Using Evergreen or Plastistrut shapes will let your imagination run wild. Or, let you fabricate some 1:1 you've seen. I made a quick, simple engine stand out of some I beams, channel and angle iron. Just made it as if it was hacked out what was around the shop at the time. It's in this wip post on the engine build .. just something to seed your thoughts.
  10. Of course I've been following this, Jeff, just been a bit silent. But, your detailing makes me lose my voice! This is looking so fine as usual. Building something you owned is my type of fun, so it's been very interesting following all the little touches. Finding the right piece to do the job right, be it PE or something made out of an old toothbrush is where you excel and I see it happening here again.
  11. I'd never that was a 1/43. Those wheels especially! Looks great
  12. Aye, good job on the stripe, Nick. Good looking build.
  13. I already tried that. But, the car is Sunoco Blue and the decals were way to transparent on such a dark color.
  14. I'm ready to add decals to a dragster build and have to add the city name one letter at a time to get what I want. This is this is nineteen separate, very small letters close together. I'm concerned about the wetness from one affecting the previous decal and floating it around. I don't wish to wait for one to dry before doing the next as that would take weeks! At least the decals are Slixx and each letter is on it's own film .. very impressive. So, just looking for some thoughts on procedure from some of you heavy decalers on how NOT to mess up whats already down as I go.
  15. Humpty seems to be in good hands.

    1982 Ford EXP

haha Ford EXP .. somehow I thought I was going to see an SUV ,, what a NICE surprise! That's a great looking build there. and something different.. like it a lot
  17. It had to be Art in there talking to himself again.
  18. I really like the look of it ... the lowering and the top chop look about right. I'm assuming body work on the chop is still in the works. The seats are really interesting. May suggest a semi-gloss clear over them or even flat clear and "finger-rubbed" a bit for the right sheen. You could even drive this here in the Berkshires.
  19. I agree the rust looks realistic. The locations are also pretty convincing for something sitting semi-covered and not getting salted. Just noticed your location, .. yeah.. from a TN barn.

  21. and to Curt for his awesome Bugatti! .. it deserved to be there
  22. plastic is plastic! Seems like a good something to have fun with.
  23. what year Friday IS it? and no fair .. wheel valve covers ...
  24. I also really liked the look of their products and would be nice if they at least had a "where to buy" link. They defiantly need an internet store somewhere as many of us don't have a hobby store close by either.
  25. Now I know where the nickname "pots" for carburetors came from .. Nice photos!
