  1. geese .. of course the Edit option shows in this thread. As can be seen, I CAN edit this post, but I have not been able to edit any of my On the Workbench threads. What could possibly cause this?
  2. I get no Edit option showing up when trying to edit my own thread. I tried both Firefox and Chrome and it's the same in both. Anyone else having same problem?
  3. I definitely want to see this coming together .. has a great start!
  4. I really like the look of this, but I have a suggestion to up the rust weathering even more. The "puddled" areas along the rain gutter and where the runs hit the belt molding are a bit unrealistic to me ... though I'm sure someone could find a 1:1 like this. I would try using a solvent, I guess it's water for Rustall, or even lacquer thinner or isopropral alcohol to dissolve some of the hard edges. Many times this "dried blob" effect looks good, but there are too big to have occurred on a 1:1 surface. The wonderful part of rusting is you can blend and keep touching up forever and never mess up the paint job! I hope you take this as it's meant ... just a thought that might improve ... or might not ... it's your build and I am really liking it!
  5. Two good looking working vans .. I love builds with a purpose!
  6. Now, that's a vehicle to be off-road with! I drove a deuce-and-a-half occasionally, usually when we needed some JP4 in Stuttgart.
  7. Sounds like the guy builds cars about how he builds his wardrobe ...
  8. 3000 miles and two cross the line neck in neck! This was a great one from start to finish ... grats to TFChronos and DeeCee for some wonderful by the rules builds and differing by so much!
  9. I like it with the decals on .. and nice blend.
  10. You're talking my language here. It's only like this when I'm building, but I'm ALWAYS building ... just walk in and continue.
  11. Great looking build .. and I see all the work that went into it .. very cool!
  12. Be sure to let us see once you get to it.
  13. Welcome from out west. You're right near MassCar, I expect you know. Other car modelers are barren in the hills.
  14. My thought would be to make a silicone rubber press on mold of the lens. Then cut the lens away. cast the lens thin in the mold. Bondic works well for this as you can just cover the surface of the mold with a thin coat. Four sec under the light and it's done. Then you can cover the face on the bumper with BMF and put a amber bulb in. Bondic would work for the bulb too. You could always cast it in clear resin if you don't mind all the extra work and waiting for it to cure.
  15. an eight inch is pretty thick for a body ... maybe that one for the reason Mark mentions. Most bodies I've measured run about .04" thick so I use a lot of that and below. Anyway, having a variety on hand is good ... from thinnest up to .06 or .08".
  16. This came into the shop for a finish and took the forefront as I make decals and fine painting detail. Need it done for XMass and bet my daughter will never see for this last mockup. 17. I was hunched over plastic bodies when I was his age ... good to see it happening. And he seems to have the eye .. and desire .. to do it right .. HIS way. The Jeep looks really good!
  18. I like the whole idea. It looks like that engine will fit in there ...maybe tight on the radiator?
  19. It's interesting to see this one built. I just finished a gluebomb Monogram GTO for the Cannonball build this year. That has all doors opened! Good looking build there ..
  20. Welcome to the forum. And some here won't like some things you post, but that's life .. so don't hesitate to post your work .. cause others WILL like.
  21. My Army ride ... and, that looks cool, Max!
  22. That's an extremely interesting truck! It truly looks like someone's project that is still changing.
  23. Pretty much the same here. Once in awhile I hear him in my wife's car, but he's gotten "old" ... same old thing. Time for him to retire.
