One thing, which I haven't mastered yet, would to apply the absolute minimum glue required to the part and mount it in one, swift, accurate move .. then walk away!

He has very high ambitions for a first build and it looks like many are coming to fruition. It's great he has a knowledgeable Dad nearby to ease those problems that always happen. From here, it's a wonderful looking build!

Engine does look good. I just did this engine from a glue bomb but replaced those fat stacks with ferrules. They shoew more in my build thread if you're interested. I can look up what size I used if you like. I had a little trouble lining them up vertically, but that was just me.

Everything of lust is away safely in their garages here in the mountains. I was influenced due to a new GTI that's in the prep stage right now. The GTI rep said only one 2016 Golf R is allowed per dealer, so Golf R owners are the only one in any one town. This one, in my town, just popped up at a light today ..

I have been tied up just figuring which of the 20 builds I have going I'll do next ... never mind BUYING ANOTHER KIT! You've all seen the box, so no photos needed .. the Revell '29 Ford Roadster. So many possibilities... what a great kit!

ah ... wasn't thinking. I'm sure Bondic would not stick to the aluminum foil after filling the script impression. It really likes rough surfaces to stick to, even plastic should be sanded first. You make me wonder if casting the script in silicon and casting it in Bondic might be an option for 'larger' scripts. Bondic is a bit flexible when that thin, not brittle like resin. It would need Alclad or something to finish. It's probably getting too small to bother when other means are available to get a finished script.

I think Bondic would work ok with the 'cast in aluminum mold' method as well, thou quicker and less messy than using resin. I'd still tend to do it by covering script in BMF, painting over it and rubbing off as a better method.

I would just get an orange color you like. Different monitors, graphic cards, cameras and photos all vary colors from the original and matching a color from a photo will only get you what you're seeing on your equipment, not mine. Every one of us is seeing a different color ... it's red on mine.The paint mixture formula from the paint manufacturer is the only way to get a "correct" paint.

I love that hood ornament! Paint and all is looking good ... you're really getting the look without going crazy.

I agree that this is expensive but well worth it for the job it does. I use it for holes in everything thin besides dash gages. My problem is I lost the smallest punch and not worth it getting another just for that. I need to consult with the carpet monster ...

What a crime to mine these rather than BUILD them.
