  1. Thanks all, and Steve. After seeing your builds, I am humbled by your comments! Cruz, any praise by you is also like an award! I'm not sure who Albert Wallace is, though
  2. Forgot this one. I like skulls
  3. A few of mine, the Yenko being my Holy Grail.
  4. That one should look as cool as your other builds. I bought a Celica new in '74 ($4,000), and put spoilers on, mags and lowered it. One of the first pocket rocket/tuners!
  5. Bob, my son Nick and I will be there. Sounds like a good time. We belong to CPMCC and MAMA. I'm trying to figure out who you are (what you look like), as I know we've heard your name and probably seen you at the MAMA meetings. See ya.
  6. OK Tom, we need details! I have a VW 23 window in the works, and that transporter is very nice. Is that second truck a Dodge? Love the color! I also have the '50 Ford waiting to be built. What is the paint on that? All are cool.
  7. VERY cool. Lyle, you need to supervise a crew to make real choppers. You definitely would have no problem finding customers, and your cheerful demeanor would have lots of fabricators wanting to work for you! See you and the bike at the meeting.
  8. That should look cool, Matt. Get 'er done for the NNL East theme class! Oh yeah, that was my Catalina you saw there last year.
  9. Very cool. Clean and smooth. The motor is as clean as the truck, too. No geegaws or unnecessary parts. Excellent build, Dirk.
  10. She's lookin' good. Love the color. I like metallic reds and burnt-orangeish kinds of colors on most anything. Dan, you'll have to give me a tutorial on making plates like that. It really sets it off!

A fairly recent build. The paint is Duplicolor Med. Maui Blue, engine wired and MCG p.e. set.
  12. Andy, that's beautiful. I want a real one. In fact, my son Nick thought it was a real car in the first pic!
  13. Dan, as your new VP of the club, I am ordering you to bring this model to the next meeting. I can do that, can't I?
  14. I just checked the ones in my kit, and the marks are barely noticeable, but they are there.
  15. Beautiful work, Bill. I love the old bugs and buses in any form. I have a 23-window started. Are these the Hasegawa kits, also?
  16. This is what it's all about, Ismael. Try to keep them both into the hobby, and some day they may turn out amazing builds like you! It only gets tougher when the teen years come along. Nice work!
  17. Hi and thanks, Steve. I cut out the kit grille (pin vise drilling and dremel), and epoxied the Model Car Garage p.e. grille behind the shell. I also prayed a lot that the shell would stay intact the whole time I was butchering it up. Installing a billet grille in my 1/1 truck was easier!
  18. Yeah Cruz, that Geary kid, young whippersnapper! Like Bill said, that temp. is a good range. I've been using a dehydrator for about ten years now. If it doesn't have a temp. setting, get a rheostat to adjust it. I found one at a Radio Shack.
  19. Cruz may be humble, but his models are anything but! You rock, bro. 8)
  20. A fairly recent build of my favorite big Chevy (and my birth year). I gotta build a photo booth sometime, or a bird will interrupt my shooting sessions.
  21. Only built a couple so far, here's one.
  22. Thanks for the kind words Dan, but like I said, I am surrounded by 'Plastic Artists' in the clubs and here (you included). When I first saw Dan's builds at the Gilbertsville Super September Show, I thought, now he needs to build more! The level of detail and workmanship at today's shows continually astounds me. Dan, maybe I better save the 25 cent words and nouveau phrases for my column in the club newsletter.
  23. Thanks guys, and Bill, I'm always honored when I get a compliment from you (I am not worthy!) I've been gradually trying to go beyond a nice shelf model for a while now, and in addition to the amazing builders in the clubs I belong to, I think this forum has the best.
  24. Thanks, Ken. The Lamborghini Murcielago is the 40th Anniversary Model Fujimi kit, a curbside with some engine detail, as the engine cover does pop open. The kit builds as good as a Tamiya, and the parts fit is excellent. A few of the assemblies even screw together, no twisting or crooked fits, and the chassis has a small cover that hides the one screw that attaches it. You could even build it with no painting, just polish the body (if you like robin's egg blue). I painted it Tamiya Mica red. This is my ultimate exotic, and I was lucky to get it for a lot less than the $40.00 prices I've seen them go for. The VW altered is a resin body conversion kit that uses the AMT Bantam Blast donor kit. The bug is made by Modelmartin, and it includes the body, interior piece, headers, body prop rod and decals. The body pivots and rests on the very back frame rail cross-member, and fits nice and snug around the front of the engine. This is actually my first resin kit build, and the quality of the parts are first rate. I also used Tamiya spray can paint on this one (Candy Lime Green). The frame, interior piece, and headers were sprayed with Rustoleum Chrome, which when baked in a food dehydrator keeps the paint from rubbing off, and makes it look like polished aluminum.
  25. I joined a while ago, but finally got the nerve to post a few of my latest projects. I'm new at this forum thing, so I hope these uploaded OK. Thanks .
