  1. I bought these off of E-Bay both were messed up and had busted A pillers, I stripped both of them , Repaired all of the damage that was done to them, And repainted them the proper factory colors. The first one is 1973-75 Cranberry Red Metallic, The other one is 1974-75 Cinnamon Metallic. I have got on this kick to restore promos for some reason.
  2. Now this is true craftsmanship, All of the mods look perfect, And the attention to all of the gaps for the panels is a nice touch, This is what I like to see. It shows that with the right research and materials that you can do anything with any model. I can't wait to see color on this one. One heck of a job on this so far.
  3. Thats really cool, I love seeing things like this. Keep them going on the models.
  4. I was making the comment for most of his posts in general, I don't feel why you have to call me out on stuff though, For my honest oppinion. I'm not going to put up with nonsense on here anymore. This forum is for all of us modelers. Not a bunch of people on here that act like kids day in and out. How old are people on here? People really need to start acting like adults, Not kids, Except for the kids, But they should have better manners and know how to act. If I remember correctly , You pulled the same thing back when I said something about BMM, Both of you tried to bash me into the ground. Never going to happen. I'm not going to be run off here because of immature behavior, I know where the ignore button is.
  5. The reason you get all of this flack on here is, You think you know everything about everything. It Seems you have no Respect for your elders, We are here to help kids your age to get better in the hobby. And I'm not picking on you, I'm just bringing a point up for you. You can't get on here and act like a fool , I personally don't want to read the garbage, I think alot of people on here need to reread some of the comments they make ,Before they hit post.
  6. How is a cross dresser related to Ed's Birthday? I very seriously doubt it. I don't think it's that funny, If someone put that up on my birthday, I would be really PO''ED! Sorry Ed not trying to be a stick in the mud, Have a happy one. I think on the person that sent you that photo, On there birthday, I found a funny photo of a Dog C-R-A-P lunch.
  7. Did you get any spraypaint yet?
  8. Well first off if the item is already payed for,You HAVE to send it to them, Or that is what E-Bay calls breach of contract, It's in the rules, Same goes for buyers, If you bid,and win the item, You are obligated to pay for it. If not, You can be banned from there, Also ,The same goes for sellers on there, They can open up a case against you, And E-bay will contact you to send the item to the person, I have been buying and selling on E-Bay for years, And know how things work around there, Also if the tables were turned you would want your item, I sold a 70 Galaxie Police Car a few years back, I said no sales outside of the lower 48 states, Well a person in Canada won it,So I HAD to send it to them , I made a whole $5 on the sale with shipping costs , But I did the responsible thing, I sent the kit to them,And got possitive feedback from the person, You have to watch what you do ,And how you list your items, And if someone from another country bids/buys something you can either contact the person before the listing ends and tell them, You only ship in the US,And ask them nicely to retract the bid, Or just end the listing and relist it, But I wouldn't advise doing that more then a few time, Or the will kick you off there. You have to act like any other sales person online,As if you would in person, It's better to be a reasonable person,Then one that gets a bad rep from not wanting to send stuff to people, Make sure your listing says US ONLY,NO EXCEPTIONS ! Thats exactly how I list my items on there ,I learned the hardway once. Thats all it took, And you HAVE to have a paypal account on there also, They won't even except your listing if any other means of payments are mentioned. Hope this helps the next time around.
  9. Nothing personal, I just don't feel like looking at this type of garbage on a "Model Car" building message board.
  10. Very Poor taste. Actually appauling . Have a good one!
  11. Really? I never knew about that interior. I want one!
  12. Yes it is, $35 Plus shipping, It's a nice kit, And ALOT cheaper then the kit, $200 For a mint unbuilt? Sorry i'm not rich. I'll go with resin for the 70's MPC Cuda's and Challengers. Another resin kit I would love to see repopped would be the Jo-Han 71,And 72 442 kits, With chrome bumpers, I got outbid on a F/S one , I quit after $175, The kit went for $195, and some change, Thats crazy. So I bought 3 of the USA Oldies 70 442's , And ordered the 71 and 72 parts from The Modelhaus, And I also won the original Jo-Han 70 442, That one has the proper interior, The reissues have the 72 Body, Interior and wheels, The one I have , The body has the round trunk lock on it,As opposed ti having the Rocket emblem, And the interior has a completely different pattern for the door panels,And the seats. But the 71 and 72 shared the same interior,But all of them 70-72 had the same basic body, The 70 Body had the round trunk lock , The 71 had the trim panel that ran between the taillights that said "OLDSMOBILE",And the '72 had the "Rocket" emblem in place of the trunk lock, The differece in the Original '70 wheels is they are thicker the the reissues, They are basically the same as those found in the Jo-Han 69 Road Runner kits, Yes alot of the new Revell 72 H/O And Cutlass parts will work on the Jo-Han kit, but the chassis is about 2 scale inches to long, And to wide, But the Jo-Han front bumpers fit almost perfectly, The back,For instance if you wanted a '70 'vert, You have to adjust it at the top of the bumper to fit, Or if you want the proper "442" bumper to make a true 71 or 72 The front bumpers from the Johan kits fit, And the 71 Taillight insert also fits, That revell kit is basically a W-31 Cutlass Convertible, with Supreme Grills, Those used the same grills as the Cutlass,And Cutlass "S" Only the H/O used these grills, Or the Cutlass Supreme. So I would suggest ,If you want a true "442" Convertible, Pick up the front bumper,And insert along with the 71 Jo-Han taillight insert from The Modelhaus ,And build away, Also the 70 Hood will fit the revell kit,All that needs to be done is adding thin plastic strips on both sides of the hood,And cut off the molded in hinges. Yes this was alittle off topic, But seeing the prices these 442 kits, And Cuda's And Challengers go for now, I have to say to the resin vendors, Bring back more of this stuff, For the price of one of the original kits, We could buy all 4 I mentioned. Also as far as what went on the other day. I still and alway will have a great deal of respect for EVERYONE in the resin industry. So many things are involved it's unreal, Also, Think back to when alot of us started building models, Us vets so to speak, 25-30 Years ago we didn't have the types of stuff that we have know. Be thankfull what we do have, Because it could all change in a heartbeat. If these guys go away . You have two choices, Go buy the original kit, Or wish you would have bought the resin kit while it was still available, Been there done that. Thanks for the comments on the "Reliable Resin" 70 Barracuda. I'll get to it very soon ,We just got 4 inces of snow today. It's that time again here in Old Michigan.
  13. I'm probably going to have to wait to put color on it, I hope to get it cleaned up , and get some primer on it. But weather permitting, Snow in the forcast this week here.
  14. I bought this car over the winter , I placed my order the end of Feb, And had it within 3 weeks or less, And the quality is great, Nicely Molded , I was able to special order the flat hood, And both of the valance panels came with the kit also, The only reason I have the two back bumpers was there was a pinhole in it , So I was sent a new one free of charge.
  15. That has to be one of the best built Cougars ever, Flawless paint, Nice and clear windows. And wow the chassis is just plain amazing with detail.
  16. You can never build a perfect model,Period. Those that think they can are in la la land, Even pro builders have flaws in builds. Look at some of the box art models , Filled with flaws, And photoshopped. No one is perfect. And at your age you're still learning, My models I built when I was your age looked terrible, Your skill will progress with time, Paint your parts, and put the model together,Do that for I would say for your first 5-6 builds, Then try moving on to detailing , Like with Bare Metal Foil, Black washing the grills, And other details, And Always have a plan of attack before you even start to open the box up.And take your time!
  17. This is going to be a cool project.
  18. After I get the other bumper, I may do that, I'm also thinking about foiling it. I talked to Wheat's again yesterday, And he told me the car is now worth $100-$150 , Being restored, If I would have gone with the original colors it would have been around the same, The car was the orange, Which I thought looked nice,But was ruined by being played with by the original owner, Black interior with a gray unpainted chassis. I payed $60 For the car in that shape, It was a case of overbidding on it, In the shape it was in, It was a $35-40 promo at shows, I payed way to much for it, As far as the paint , I had that sitting around the house, So the total cost for the restore, Is the price of the car, And the $5 for the better front bumper. My AMT annual I just posted in the what did you get thread cost me $10 less then this one, Oh well. I didn't feel guilty about redoing this car because of the shape it was originally in.
  19. Very cool concept, I love that paint job!
  20. Make sure you hook up a moisture catch valve to your compresser. So it doesn't get into your airbrush , Or you will have alot of issues with it. Mine screwed into the side of mine just before the airhose outlet. What that part does is take all for the moisture out of the air hose, And compresser. It acts like a filter is the best way I can describe it, I not sure if thats exactly what they call it, But that part is a MUST have for your compresser. I have actually painted when it was 100% humidity and pouring rain outside and had no issues with it effecting the paint job. I alway set my compresser to 32-35 lbs pressure with my airbush, And always get good results and great coverage with just a few light mist coats, The 3rd and final coat is the heavy coat I put on it. After the mist coats have dryed for about 45 Minutes, Also make sure you use plumbers white sealer tape for all of your connections ,The thin vinyl type To seal up any leaks. If you have any hissing in your lines retighting your connections . How I paint my models is I start at the back of the car, then the driverside, front,Passengerside ,Then angle the car starting form the back,I work my way to the front, Then I do the opposite, Start at the front and work my way back to the trunk, And go past it. I do that 3 times, 2 mist coats, And one have coat, I alway make sure I have the car angled about 45 degrees when I paint the top part of the car. That way you get better coverage . Thats just the method I use when using my airbrush.
  21. What gold are you guys using on the engines? I still need to go out and pick up the kit myself. The more I see these, The more I want afew of them, Gray-Blue and White will be the combonation I'll be doing once I get my hands on one, I can't find them here at the hobbyshops , Everytime I go to them, Sorry were sold out, And are back ordered.
  22. This was taking after I polished out the paint.
  23. An early Christmas gift from my wife, One of my Holy Grails. Mint inside.
  24. That has happened to me quite a few times, The most recent one is the flat 69 Camaro hood I purchased from Time Machine Resin, I ordered it on September 8th of this year, It's November 22. And it's still not here, I just chalk that up as a loss of $8. And I know now to never order from them again, Which is sad, Because they have a 69 Cyclone, 73 Charger and 68 Chevelle I was going to order from them. Now I have to find a 67-68 Camaro kit just for the hood to finish up the 69 Rally Sport Camaro I have been working on. I found the early release grill with the RS molded in it in my parts box, I wish I would have found the 67-68 hood, No luck there.
