1/25 Moebius/Model King 1959 Rambler Custom Cross Country Wagon
Chuck Most replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Probably. Keep in mind,though- this kit actually dates to 1959, long before anybody gave a rip about scale accuracy. -

Single only- the five-spoke mags appear to be the only non-stock option. -

Not the best pic, but hope this'll work... Rear window gasket is molded to the body- the glass only has a gluing flange. -
Keep your pants on just a little bit longer, guys... it's almost here. This is the last (or next to last?) test shot- according to Dave Metzner, what you see here is what the production kit will be... corrected hood, roof, rear axle, and all. The printed Goodyear tires in a few of the pictures are from AMT- they fit the Moebius wheels pretty well. I also wired the engine and replaced the last 3/8" or so of the kit tailpipe with tubing, but that's it. Paint is Chrome Yellow/Pure White in Ford's "Combination" two-tone. Combination was where the lower bodysides and roof were painted accent color. The "Regular" two tone had only the roof painted the accent color, and the Deluxe two-tone had onlly the lower bodysides painted accent color. In the next pic, it will look like the wing vent post is too short- there's a gap between the top of it and the window opening. That's not a kit flaw- I broke off the end of the post while cleaning some flash. So... my fault, not the kit's. The next pic also shows the kit-supplied tires and wheel covers. The tires have no sidewall lettering, but there is a scuff band, which you can paint white for a narrow whitewall look, iff'n that's the way you swing. As far as the way it goes together? All I'm going to say is "you're in for a treat". From where I sit, the delays and time spent perfecting the kit was time well spent. And here's a little update... The test shot had no decals- they were still in development when I built the test shot. So when I got a pre-production kit (which does have decals) I had to see how they'd look! Decals are typical Moebius quality- well printed, won't fight you much, and lay down well. Next time, I think I'd sand off the "Ford" lettering from the tailgate before using the woodgrain decal. I'll also have to remember to paint the back window gasket.

Maybe I'll get some new pics... now that Heller is bringing out a 1:24 Ferguson tractor I might have to build one and park it on the back of this, seeing as how he also owns a Ferguson 35. -

Moebius / Model King '69 Ford F100 box art
Chuck Most replied to S. Svendsen's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
Hobby Lobby won't carry Moebius kits because HL takes offense to their line of "monster" kits, or some nonsense along those lines. Moebius has tried time and again to get their products into HL, and HL continues to refuse. One more reason to avoid that place like the plague. -
Stuffed cat helicopter video. It's art, really...

A couple of years ago a friend of mine told me when he dies, he wants to be preserved by taxidermy rather than buried. After I saw this video, I told him I'd do him one better and turn him into a Cory-Copter. He didn't object. -
Well, there goes some more of my money...

I've managed to jab and slice myself more than a few times. It seems like no matter how careful you are it can still happen, and if you aren't careful to begin with... One time I was using an Xacto blade to strip some insulation from some wiring. Somehow, the blade slipped and went into the side of my leg, just beside the kneecap. Actually had to go to the ER and get stitches for that one. Other than that, I've been lucky- when I get cut, I just clean the wound and grab a tube of superglue off the work bench to seal it.

1977/78 4 door Dodge Monaco taillights
Chuck Most replied to spkgibson's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
At one time somebody (Scale Squads?) did conversion parts for these kits to do different variants/model years, but I don't recall if they had the proper taillights or not. -

Newly reissued Revell BRE Datsun 510 Racecar kit

The decals are a huge improvement over past versions. A shame I didn't use them on mine- As soon as I unearth a proper set of Work Equip wheels, this one will be finished. -

Thanks guys! I realize there's one other thing I didn't do- his truck has a bench seat, but I left the buckets in this one.
