  1. This might be the best example I've seen of the Revell 5-window to date, IMHO. Love the orange paint and that Cad mill.
  2. Don't get me wrong, I love Stephen Wright, but I think the king of dry one liners will always be Mitch Hedberg... "I am not addicted to gambling, although I am addicted to sitting in a semi-circle." "My friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana, I said "No, but I want a regular banana later, so ... yeah" ". "I used to be socially awkward. I still am, but I used to be, too." "A severed foot is the ultimate stocking stuffer." "When I was a boy, I laid in my twin-size bed and wondered where my brother was." "I had a parrot. The parrot talked, but it did not say "I'm hungry," so it died." "I have a vest. If I had my arms cut off, it would be a jacket." "I went to a record store, they specialized in hard to find records. Nothing was alphabetized."
  3. Coming out nicely! By the way, is that a Morgan three-wheeler in your avatar?
  4. Is it just me, or is it crazy how well the Chrysler quarter panel's lines flow into the Chevy truck cab? That triangular valley down the sides of the Chevy match up almost perfectly with the same valley on the Chrysler parts.
  5. I know I'm going to catch hell for saying this, but you know what? I think it's an improvement over the current 'Vette. Meaner and a lot less 'flabby' looking.
  6. I've thought of that myself, but since what I have in mind would involve chopping and cutting so much that nobody would really know what scale the resulting model would be, I might go ahead with it scale difference or no.
  7. My, that is lovely! And that's coming from a guy who normally doesn't care much for the Grand Prix. You did this one justice for sure.
  8. If this oil embargo you speak of started in 1981 and didn't end until 1994, then yes.
  9. I've been toying with doing a model of this (and I'm actually working on a custom truck loosely inspired by it), but I'm glad you're the guy beating me to the punch! My eyes are glued to this one.
  10. Jerry wasn't much good at getting anything when he was out hunting, but even so, he decided one year to go to deer camp with his buddies Earl and Jim. On the first day, Earl came back with a very nice six-point. Jerry asked him how he got it. Earl shrugged and said "Follow the tracks... follow the tracks... follow the tracks... BOOM... deer." On the second day, Jim came back with a nice, big twelve-point. Jerry asked him how he got it. Jim shrugged and said "Follow the tracks... follow the tracks... follow the tracks... BOOM... deer." On the third day of deer camp, Jerry came back bruised, bloodied, his clothes torn and he was pretty sure he'd at least dislocated his arm. "What happened?" Earl and Jim asked. Jerry replied- "Well... follow the tracks... follow the tracks... follow the tracks... BOOM... train ran me over."
  11. Thanks! I'm prety sure I might have a set from the Revell Willys anyway. I always assumed the GTX/RR Pro Streets had the same M/T tires as the Super Bee.
  12. Looks promising. I'm already in love with the no-chrome look.
  13. I feel bad for the Ranger, forced to spend the rest of its life looking like some kind of weird mechanical turtle...
  14. Got a '66 Falcon rebuilder in a trade with jsipes. Thanks, Jason!
  15. None of those are Exide Orbitals- that's Exide's answer to the Optima dry-cell. That being said, you could make the Optima work by filling in the depressions on the long sides and using styrene rod to add the second set of top posts.
  16. Question- anyone know of a treaded tire about the same height and width as the slicks in the AMT '66 Nova Pro Street? Everything I have (AMT Mickey Thompson and Revell Firestone) are way to big to fit without cutting the chassis.
  17. My thoughts exactly.
  18. Nice! So far of all the ones I've seen, this is my favorite build from the '50 Olds kit.
  19. I've wanted to try something like this in 1:1 for years (minus the twin engine part, of course), so of course I'll be keeping an eye on this one.
  20. Another option- I've seen a few 1:1 cars where the alt is mounted to the rear axle pinion snout and run off the driveshaft. Yes, this means it is not charging when the car isn't in motion, but it seems to work well enough- I've never heard of any significant charging problems with such a setup.
  21. I even like these as the 4-door model- they have an almost 'Benz-y' look to them.
  22. And that's what makes having all those Testors glue tubes around worth it!
  23. Thanks guys! Thought of the white roof, but I didn't want it to resemble the '53 box art car too closely, you know. Weird you mention my highlighting of the grooves in the foiled areas, as I did nothing of the sort. That's the stock '52 hood ornament- I believe it's in the '53 kit box too even though the '53 replaced it with the scoop. Look for parts 61 and 62 on the chrome sprue.
  24. The book and the movie share little more than a name- Stanley Kubrick's druggy insanity is fun to watch, my friends and I like to get together and watch it every year around Christmas. But the '97 TV miniseries does the book justice.
