  1. Lovely little Plymouth.
  2. Ah, yes... for some reason I thought they'd planned to build 500 a year, not 500 total. Even though I just read the article and saw that the last one was #500 of 500. Now... wonder what if anything Toyota is planning as a follow up?
  3. Didn't they JUST START making these a couple of years ago?
  4. This is a dead ringer for the '86 version my buddy Matt had in high school. Well, a dead ringer for how his car would have looked new anyway! Very nice conversion.
  5. How can something that's basically just a big box look so cool? I don't know, but it's possible. I'm definitely getting one of these now, but I can only hope mine will turn out as well as yours!
  6. Very nice! I don't know why, but stock '40's always seem to look best in maroon. It's probably a good thing you needed the Lindberg kit for parts- the hubcaps in that kit are better than AMT's versions. The rest of the Lindberg kit wasn't great, but those hubcaps... fantastic!
  7. OHC is great, OHV is great, but this is all sillly when valve-in-block engines still have such a following even 50 years removed from the last domestic production units- http://uncommonengineering.com/
  8. I'd say keep this one as is, then do a new-and-improved version later on. You could display them side by side to show how you've progressed as a modeler. Though I must say, you think the work you did on this isn't the best, but it's still a very sweet looking model if you ask me!
  9. Very cool! I cut down one of these years ago to use with the Model King camper, and used the rear portion of the body as a makeshift enclosed trailer.
  10. I've only had that problem with the XF-56- I'll add another reccomendation for keeping a BB in the jar. Don't bother brush-painting with XF-56 either- it seems to 'prefer' being airbrushed after a nice thorough mixing. I've never had any problems with separation with any other Tamiya color, though.
  11. Why did I say Barney when I clearly meant Otis, anyway?
  12. I don't think they had PCP in '57. Drunks were probably the most common 'druggies' back then, and having a drunken Barney sitting right next to you as you cart him off to the pokey would be sort fo fun, and surely liven up your shift a little bit. And if he got out of line, he's RIGHT THERE, well within stun gun range. Wait. They didn't have stun guns back then, did they...
  13. Tom Coolidge (Promolite 2000) is casting the club sedan.
  14. I bought this kit just for parts... but after seeing yours and how nicely it turned out I'm thinking I might actually try building it.
  15. Nice to hear Ed's keeping Drag City going! I'm hoping someone will do a convertible body- or at least just the interior side panels and backseat. (I can always chop off the roof myself. )
  16. Well, depending on 'quality of workmanship'... On a serious note, I'd be very interested in some workable Capri stuff myself, so I'm hoping somebody can get things going for ya!
  17. Roger- what I said about the '72 T-Bird applies to that Comet as well.
  18. Could be, but the average person isn't very knowledgable about '70's semi names, and thus probably wouldn't even think about a GMC cabover...
  19. I don't care when, why, or how... but that one MUST get finished!
  20. Here's one more... if you are talking about a Chevy Astro, you don't need to refer to it as an 'Astro van'. I'm not going to confuse it with the Astro coupe or Astro Cabriolet. Astro will do, thanks!
  21. Looks like an old coworker of mine's '78 before he restored it.
  22. Sounds like me. The more I price out new (or even used and less than five year old) trucks, my beat-up old F-250 keeps on looking better.
  23. Engine is done and pretty much all that's left for the '48 are the piddly last-minute parts and details.
  24. Or the fenders. Good news is if you have a Monogram '40 and some '36 Ford fenders, you'd be well on your way to making a '38 if you wanted to do a ton of work. Which I guess isn't good news, merely so/so news.
