  1. Me. And the one in my backyard isn't as nice. Yes, I do have a C-series in my back yard... Pierre- I LOVE how this one is coming together! I stashed five or six of these kits when they came back out, but so far I haven't yet built a weathered one.
  2. I've got the Maisto diecast I'm planning to rework into something like this. But yeah, it wouldn't exactly kill anybody to have a somewhat modern light truck kit.
  3. No, but it wouldn't be difficult to rework it to stock specs. Namely raise the suspension a couple of scale inches. The present exhaust system could be adapted into a stock version.
  4. I don't blame you! I looked at this one, but it looks to be missing quite a bit of trim, and I didn't see it in the car and no mention was made of the trim. Or bumper. That and I need another 1:1 project like I need a another hole in my head.
  5. That turned out just beautiful. Sometimes you get so used to the 427s you forget how good the small block cars looked.
  6. Oh, yeah! That'll do.
  7. Spotted this on the way back home from work this morning- dew and fog prevented me from getting any really good pics, but these should do.
  8. Monogram '30 Ford Model A would be the ideal thing to start with. Fantastic job on the photography!
  9. Eh... not too keen on cutting into an old Renwal kit, but I do have an appropriate leading edge for something like this. Emphasis on 'no'.
  10. Sweet!
  11. Not sure if it was the same one, but saw another red one headed West down M-57 on my way home from work. Right before Chrysler's daily test fleet convoy.
  12. That's what's great about the Modelhaus repo- no horrific warp, and even in the off chance you do get a warped Modelhaus part, it's ususally close enough to in-shape to be easily coaxed back to its correct shape. AND you needn't concern yourself with Johan's classic 1/4" thick glass. Yeah, I'm exaggerating about the thickness of the glass. But not by much...
  13. I can vouch for that- test fit, test fit, test fit, when you are building the AMT White Freightliner DD!
  14. I keep seeing a stretched Gremlin somewhere in this rendering...
  15. Any way I could get five or six of these accidentally shipped to my house?
  16. Not building a custom- this place is crawling with them, but I do have a few ideas. '60's drag style- Use the blower, Moon valve covers, etc. from the AMT '40 Willys or maybe the Revell Beatnik Bandit on the kit Rocket V8. Jack up the front end either by raising the stock IFS or ditching it all in favor of leaves and a stick axle, and radius the rear opening. Leave out the rear seat (easy to do due to the NASCAR building option) and make up a simple rollbar. Then you just need to throw on some appropriate graphics, sponsor decals, and maybe tint the glass- even though that was illegal in most NHRA classes back then, it didn't appear to stop too many guys from doing that. Bonneville car- strip all the street-legal niceties, lower the car as far as you can get it, slap on some Moon spun discs and plumb some twin turbos to the engine. Modern street rod style- Lowered on an air ride suspension, with large diameter billets. Swap in the Olds Aurora 4.0 from the Revell Shelby Series 1- work in the tube, rear-mounted transaxle, and suspensions if you really want to get ambitous. Update the interior and paint it in a modern metallic color. Abandoned junker- Since I'm stealing at least one engine from one of these kits, I'll use the rest of the car as filler for a junkard diorama I've been kicking around for a while. Rust holes, dings and dents, a thrashed interior with ripped seats, and delaminating glass will be incorporated into that one. Sedan delivery- yep, another vote for that one. It'll probably be more street rod oriented than theoretically stock. Fastback and/or hardtop- this one will involve grafting in the roof from an AMT Belair or Fleetline. From there, any of the above ideas could be applied to the conversion.
  17. Combine this kit with this- http://www.madmodeling.com/store/ccp0-prodshow/79muscoupe.html and these http://www.madmodeling.com/store/ccp0-prodshow/dogdishtruck.html, and you'd be right in the ballpark for building something close to what's in the pic. That's sort of what I'm planning for at least one of these- combining the '92 underpinnings and the MAD '79 transkit and doing a mildly updated four-eye notch with the '92's fuel injection intact and Cobra R wheels.
  18. Where'd you pick your Olds up from? Don't say Ed... apparently his supplier isn't getting them for another month.
  19. Nice! Oddly enough there are two Beaumonts in my area, and I'm SEVERAL miles away from Canada.
  20. That, and I'm not sure people are really ready to trust a GM vehicle with a hybrid powertrain, when GM has barely figured out how to build a decent vehicle with a conventional powertrain. Bazinga.
  21. Theoretically, yes. But I'm certain the Moebius chassis will be infinitely better detailed and more accurate than the old AMT warhorse.
